why would you argue against tme "grouping together" all people who benefit from transmisogyny, if your goal wasn't to downplay or deny transmisogyny existing?
like it's very obviously because you don't Actually believe in transmisogyny, or think it isn't "that bad".
how is that not transmisogynist?
"people who benefit from transmisogyny"
okay, like i said in the original post, i knew this was gonna be a shitstorm because thats what this website is like, but in for a penny and all that shit
GNC, non-binary, and transmasc people are exempt from transmisogyny to various degrees in most contexts, or at least experience less of it than transfeminine people do. that gives them relative safety in those particular situations, but relative safety is not the same thing as being a beneficiary of transmisogyny
a beneficiary gains durable power, status, or material security from a system. GNC, enby, and transmasc people generally do not. any "safety" they receive is conditional on being read as sufficiently non-feminine, non-transfeminine, or compliant with the gender binary; and the same system can turn on them through misgendering, forced femininity, gender policing, or simply deciding they look like the kind of person it exists to punish
they can still reproduce transmisogyny, be complicit in it, or receive approval for distancing themselves from transfeminine people. that should absolutely be challenged. but "capable of participating in an oppressive system" does not automatically mean "structurally benefits from that system"
transfeminine people are its primary and most severely targeted victims. recognising that does not require pretending everyone outside that group is placed above them by the system or materially profits from their oppression
also if you think my objection to lumping gnc, non-binary & transmasc people into one homogenous blob is "very obviously" evidence i dont believe in transmisogyny, despite my repeatedly and VERY explicitly saying that i DO, you may not be equipped to have these discussions with other people
or you may be EXACTLY the kind of person i was originally venting about: someone who (mis-)use specific, useful language for describing systemic oppression as a blunt instrument for their intra-lgbtq vendettas against trans siblings they deem lesser
