@uwantfrieswiththat - Jack Lowden is a Scottish actor in theatre, television, and film, trained at the formerly Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) Jack has shot to fame in the last few years for his role as the MI5 spy River Cartwright in the Apple TV drama, Slow Horses, and it’s not hard to see why he has made such an impression with those deep blue eyes. He is on the list of rumoured actors for the James Bond audition. He played Lord Darnley in Mary, Queen of Scots, where he met his wife, Saoirse Ronan, who co-starred in the film. His recent films include Dunkirk (2017) and Benediction (2021), for which he won a BAFTA. Jack will star as the official Mr Darcy in Netflix’s upcoming Pride & Prejudice series, based on Jane Austen’s classic novel, this autumn. Jack Lowden has quickly cemented his status as one of Scotland's most talented actors. Earning critical acclaim across stage, television and screen, he has collected major awards, including an Olivier Award, a BAFTA Scotland award for Best actor, and an Emmy nomination and Golden Globes nomination. Jack has also expanded his career behind the camera as a producer, notably co-producing the Orkney-set drama The Outrun (2024) alongside his wife, Saoirse Ronan.
