Ancient? Setting? Listen to me. Shrinekeeper Hitoshi and God Aizawa.

I think, if Aizawa were to be a god of anything, he would be a god of theft. I think it aligns nicely with his quirk. He cannot grant you blessings, but he can take ailments, and curses, and pain. He can take sickness from you. He can take your sorrow and your grief.

But if you cross him, he can also take your joy. And your health. He can take your memories. Your love. Your life. Whatever can be given or kept, can be taken just the same.

Shrinekeeper Hitoshi who has been bestowed a small piece of this power. But he's not a god. Any curses, or grief, or pain that he takes, he carries onto his own body. Shrinekeeper Hitoshi being the one to travel out into towns when people are too ill to visit the shrine, or helping to tend to particularly sick visitors if Shouta is busy tending to others.

Hitoshi who takes these heavy, painful burdens onto his own body, and he too has to come to Shouta to have the burdens lifted off of him as well. Who sighs with relief when he feels the weight leaving his shoulders, who leans against his God and allows him to comfort and praise him for a job well done.

Hitoshi who, himself, is dealing with chronic illness, and chronic pain. Who's parents had originally brought him to the shrine seeking to help their son. Who, while Aizawa's theft helped for some time, kept needing to visit the shrine because his pain wouldn't leave for good. Who eventually gets taken in by the god, so Aizawa can manage his illness more regularly.

Shrinekeeper Hitoshi, who even on the days he isn't helping the sick, his pain will start to creep in on him again. Fatigue will try to take hold. Who has to rest his hands while he sweeps, taking a moment to roll out his wrists and flex his fingers and breathe through the dull ache that has become and unwelcomed friend before he carries on with his duties.

God Aizawa, who is always paying some amount of attention to Hitoshi. Who will notice his pet human starting the same routine that comes with him being in pain. Who will call out for him, ask him to come over, so he can take the pain away and Hitoshi can breathe easy again.

"Hitoshi?"

"Hmm?"

"You're hurting again, are you?"

"A bit. Only barely. Worry about the others first."

Shouta frowning, and shaking his head, and beckoning Hitoshi closer. "None of that. Come here. Let me take it from you."

And Hitoshi obeys, and the people visiting the shrine watch as this keeper seems to talk to nothing but air, walks over to the seat where only he can see Shouta sitting, gives over both of his hands and all of the tension leaves his body as Shouta takes his pain once more.

"Come to me when you're in pain. Let me fix it for you."

"...Yes sir. Thank you.."

my shinsou mii lying down in the middle of the road next to aizawa mii who was asleep under a tree is making me lose my mind. they're so cute. shinsou who's insomniac and can barely sleep at night on the best mattress of all times filled with sleep pills lies down to nap with his sensei. shinsou who never complains when aizawa nods off during training or class or hangouts, just sits or lies down next to him and closes his eyes. I think aizawa is so tired and depressed that sometimes he just has to sit and close his eyes even if it's on the floor in a little nook somewhere crowded and if shinsou is here he'll just sit with him and say nothing and just be there. I think shinsou hated napping before aizawa because he couldn't stand lying down with his eyes closed and his head aching and his thoughts running wild but aizawa makes him love it because it's when he feels he can be closest. aizawa tells shinsou he's gonna nap for a while and shinsou quietly asks if he can nap with him and aizawa is like. if you want. and shinsou just lies down next to his sleeping bag and closes his eyes and listens to aizawas breathing. maybe over time aizawa let's him get closer, maybe he even moves from the floor to the couch in his office or the mats in the gym so shinsou can be comfortable too (because they don't fit both in his sleeping bag). just. shinsou lying next to aizawa in his bed, not sleeping, not looking, just existing near aizawa and listening to him snore. Just being next to him because he doesn't like leaving his sensei alone. god.

shinzawa sitting in the bathtub together, aizawa's back pressed against shinsou's chest as low volume music plays in the background and candles surround them instead of the bright bathroom light. they're both basking in the silence and the soft, tender touches they share with each other.

I headcanon that shinsou is easily very ticklish so when aizawa's stubble grazes his skin as he's peppering kisses, shinsou's non stop giggling and it makes aizawa grin every time

ok honestly I don't tyink they would do that in a million years BUTTT they could be dragged out against their will. kaminari in all her forms would drag them out of course. I'm thinking either kamimomojirou shinzawa or kamiraka (ft ryōta) shinzawa.

if kamimomojirou: chaotic, awful, all of them have a headache by the end of it. if kamiraka: less awful but still def drains their social battery. they go home and swear never to go out with anyone again.

IF midnight is alive micnight shinzawa double date would be excellent though. aizawa would fall asleep ten minutes into dinner and micnight would tell shinsou all about embarrassing things aizawa does and other such stories. very fun.

shinsou coming home to aizawa after rough patrols or small scale missions to regress in his vicinity. shinsou feels so ashamed that he's out there throwing people in jail, taking advantage of his honed combat skills, sometimes failing to save someone right in front of him, just for him to crawl back to his mentor to act like a crying child. aizawa will keep reassuring him that he sees him as competent and highly skilled, and he can tell shinsou has a mighty hard time controlling his automatic response. it's a part of having such a physically, emotionally, and mentally taxing career, and aizawa is more than pleased that shinsou chooses him again and again to take care of himself in such a vulnerable state. but hitoshi never truly rids of the insecurity

i think aizawa hugs Incredibly Tightly when someone manages to get him to hug back. uncomfortably so for a lot of people. but for his coworkers & students who do enjoy his hugs, they love his hugging style

how ddo you think shinzawa get together? who's the first to confess, and where they do it, whether it's at an appropriate time or not etc......

i personally like thinking shinsou confessed to aizawa during high school multiple times but got rejected and got over it seemingly.. just for aizawa to fall in love with him when they're both grown up and good friends already

ok my dark revelation is that while I like shinsou confessing to aizawa in high school, I much prefer shinzawas who become friends as they get older and fall in love as adults. i just really like the concept of their relation evolving..... so my thought is generally aizawa falling in love first (for the angst) a few years after graduation, and then they eventually get very very close due to circumstances or being drunk or something of the sort, and Shinsou realizes that aizawa isn't rejecting him despite being so hesitant and guilty because he already loves him and has been pining for years <33

first date shinzawa being too shy to hold hands so instead they link their pinkies as aizawa walks shinsou home!!! aizawa takes the outer sidewalk to keep shinsou safe, too!!!

aizawa giving shinsou forehead kisses and shinsou giving aizawa soft kisses on his hands!!! maybe as a reward/reassurance type of thing!

i don't imagine them being into pda but I do like the thought of aizawa always somewhat guiding shinsou by the small of his back or subtly guiding him so he doesn't trip!

when they eat at restaurants they usually sit at a secluded corner where it's more dark and empty because it's more cozy for them but it always unintentionally is immediately more intimate because of this! soft glances at each other across the table, little shoulder pushes when they sit near each other in a little booth; be still my beating heart! 💓

late night phone calls because they both have insomnia and end up sleeping in the middle of talking to each other and waking up with dead phones, they remember to keep it charging the next time they do it!

aizawa being very neutral about his looks until shinsou starts calling him pretty boy and staring at him non-stop!

aizawa, raising an eyebrow, "shouldn't I be calling you that?"

shinsou, internally freaking out inside, "you can call me whatever you want, baby"

and now they're both looking away blushing!

aizawa buying shinsou all the ganriki neko stuff and shinsou wearing it unabashedly just to watch aizawa smile!!

slowly shinsou's things start invading aizawa's place, a toothbrush in the bathroom, a sweatshirt there, a spare uniform. aizawa doesn't notice it until he does and can't stop noticing it, traces of shinsou everywhere.

boyfriend hoodies except make it "never been seen before in public except for the depths of aizawa's closet" clothing and nobody takes note of it because nobody knows except them two! like a little game of I spy that only shinzawa is playing!

some days aizawa cannot stand being touched so instead of holding hands or cuddling, shinsou gives him some fuzzy socks and makes him hot chocolate while he cozies himself under a weighted blanket. both of them sitting on either ends of the couch watching a low volume studio ghibli movie together!!! ❤️

sometimes when they walk beside each other, shinsou hooks a finger on one of the loops of aizawa's belt!

if and when they get cats together they call them their children!

they like to make blanket forts in the living room and huddle there for the night when they have nightmares. it one of them makes the blanket fort, the other is on assigned cookie baking!

aizawa has an unused guest bedroom that shinsou took over until they started sleeping in the same bed together, then it became unused again!

they like to play chase with each other during night through the city just for fun before patrol, it's a good warm up exercise!

on slow days they like to curl up near each other not touching and enjoy each other's presence. it's nice to love and be loved.

I bet this starts before their relationship with Shinsou being a chaos gremlin, baiting Aizawa with his bratitude, and then just fucking bolting when Aizawa grabs the Scarf of Discipline; and Aizawa being in a mood and absolutely full-throttle racing after him- and Shinsou not expecting to actually be chased getting legit startled and running for his life straight off campus and into the city-

And at some point they both start to think 'this is really fun actually' but Aizawa being stubborn and not wanting to back down... until Shinsou starts giggling and laughing at close calls and sloppy dodges 💜💜

And after they start dating, this just becomes their mating ritual, idk-
