'The Skating Party'. Elisabeth Sommerville.
Dilemma
High on this globe of earth,
The rain,
God’s tattoo on your face,
Talisman reflected surface.
Maybe finding courage is easy,
Keeping it is the difficulty.

‘If you are offered a rose garden relationship,
remember the feline thorns.’

Jay
Parrot of the park,
Flash of blue against the bark –
Peach charisma.

Keep to the Bright Side of Life
When things are bad,
Don’t give up the fight –
Even dusk darkened paths,
Attracts scattered light.

Disguised
Vanilla wind,
From ice cream clouds,
Sweet scent of decay.
Even in the stripped,
Embrace of branches,
It is not okay.
You are silent,
In winters blue,
This tells me everything.
And I fully believe you.

Undeclared Affection
Love so close,
The thing that hurts the most -
Is almost.

Poem published in Acumen 103
In the sun and fun of Jamaica, blue skies a portent of heaven, Omari lives in the shade of tropical fronds and the tinkle of laughter.
Micro Poem by Lisa Lopresti & photo of himself , Omari Wright.
I dream of horses as I awake,
from fitful sleep that races to dawn.
Sometimes they are bronco’s in the waves
crashing consciousness to sand
but mostly they fly, before elegantly
dropping as if the world were glass.
Poem by Lisa Lopresti( photo an ancient sculpture)
Moth wing skies, as twilight darkens, to even shade the moon.
The Pines needle the embroidered clouds, into dramatic patterns.
We walk from the party, Irish reels with heels of thunder and fiddles lightness.
Poem by Lisa Lopresti and photo(Ashton Court)
“Everyone deserves a second chance, but not a 3rd, that’s just ammunition to hurt you automatically “

Be the One to Turn a Light On
Don’t make decisions in the dark,
Clarity and Light,
The heartbeat,
After the night.
Time linear,
Dapples the stark,
In fractured resolve.
