I wanted to use what ‘reach’ I may have here to share the Carolina Wildlife Center’s urgent plea for donations. If they are unable to raise $75,000 to cover ongoing and future care of their wildlife patients, the center will have to close July 20th, 2026. The services provided by CWC to the community are incredibly valuable, and without them, many wild animals will suffer without the care they need.

Any donation amount above $5 gets a sketch/drawing- just show me the reciept!!!
This is so generous and an amazing deal!
The Lower Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuge in Texas could lose 715 acres to SpaceX under a federal land exchange proposal.
Congress created this wildlife refuge in 1979 to protect its diverse wildlife, including rare species like ocelots, aplomado falcons, and migratory birds such as piping plovers, red knots, green jays and Altamira orioles. The refuge protects some of the best habitat in the United States for the endangered ocelot and is one of the last remaining expanses of public lands in south Texas. SpaceX’s rocket launch activities have already been impacting nearby habitat and destroying shorebird nests, and wildlife can’t afford this lopsided deal.
The Center for Biological Diversity is suing the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to stop this harmful land giveaway, and we need your support.
Join the fight to protect wildlife and wild places with a gift to the Center for Biological Diversity.
You DO NOT need to give every Black character you draw laid edges/baby hairs. Especially if they are children. Just because "baby" is in the name, do not assume that means children MUST have them. Learn how to draw a hairline. Learn to be okay AND NORMAL about foreheads and bald people. Learn why laid edges became a thing in the first place. Stop only ever drawing the ONE Black cultural hairstyle you saw on Pinterest, and running it to the ground like y'all did with the Killmonger locs.
PLEASE LISTEN TO HER! LISTEN TO OTHER BLACK PEOPLE, BLACK CREATORS, BLACK CREATIVES, BLACK ARTISTS, BLACK WRITERS, LISTEN TO THE WHOLE BLACK COMMUNITIES!
There are so many Black people's Hairstyles all over the internet! There are so many creators like OP who can help you with that!
@creatingblackcharacters - (I owe you my whole life! Thank you so much for helping me!) She is amazing! She has lessons about Black People's Hairstyles, Black Cultures, and Black History! She even talks about serious things as well. Like Sexualities, Gender Identities, and Antiblackness racism that is happening! She even hosts CBC Book Clubs where she posts Chapters from Books that she's reading. And make Quizzes at the end of Books. So please, go check her out! And please, read her Lessons! Thank you!
@uptownlowdown - If your Black OCs are settled a bit in the past. She is the excellent person for you! She has a lot Vintage Black Fashion and Vintage Black Hairstyles! She makes amazing and gorgeous Art of her OCs! She even makes posts of Vintage Black Movies too! So you can use them as references as well! Please check her out! And please read her posts! Thank you!
@naylissah - I followed in here and she also has a YT! I learned many different Black Hairstyles from her videos! She even helped me when it comes to serious things while drawing Black Characters! I love her Art Style and the way she makes her videos! Please check her out! And please, watch her videos and subscribe! Thank you!

It's wild to watch the phrase "tumblr sexyman" morph into "man that tumblr thinks is sexy," because when I first saw the phrase come into use, I always saw it used in reference to the phenomenon of "when presented with a wide array of fictional characters, tumblr will always pick the skinny white man to obsess over, and if the fan-favorite character has no canonical human appearance, the fandom will inevitably create a popular fanon of the character as as a skinny white man."
When I hear "tumblr sexyman," I think of Cecil Night Vale being constantly depicted as a skinny white man instead of literally anything else. I think of the background character white men who get elevated over protagonists that are women, people of color, or otherwise not the white man power fantasy.
"Tumblr sexyman" is, like. An insult. I DON'T want any of my blorbos to win a "tumblr sexyman" poll. "Tumblr sexyman" is the exact opposite of what I want my own OCs to be. If any of my characters ever get called "tumblr sexyman," I will have to immediately re-evaluate myself and the art I'm making.
Things I think of when I hear "tumblr sexyman":
Cecil Night Vale, as previously mentioned.
Oncelercest, because if there aren't two skinny white men to ship, tumblr fandom will start shipping the skinny white man with himself.
Bill Cipher inexplicably being fanon'd as a white twink despite being a fucking triangle.
Everyone fawning over Marvel Loki while shoving every woman and Black person in the MCU aside.
The way nearly every single character in Hazbin Hotel has the same "tall and skinny" body type, along with all the criticisms Black audience members have made about the issues with Alastor's design.
The way tumblr got obsessed with the white man villain in Sinners.
Everyone needs to stop saying death of the author when what they mean is separating the art from the artist. Like FR stop it.
I know it's mainly just ignorance of what the term means but I do wonder if this happens in part bcos 'death of the author' sounds so dramatic like oh this author is dead to me, I don't care about them anymore. Whereas 'separating the art from the artist' is a lot more neutral and well. In CERTAIN CASES it is kind of immediately apparent that you cannot.
TO REITERATE:
Death of the Author is a term coined by Roland Barthes for his essay of the same name in 1967.
In brief: death of the author is the concept that analysis of a work of art should not be focused on the artist's intent; the artist's intended reading of their own work is just A reading and no more valid than anyone else's.
A good straightforward example of this in practice is the response to Andy Weir and Project Hail Mary. Weir is adamant that his work contains no politics but I would say that PHM is pretty clearly a story about climate change.
You can apply death of the author to any work of fiction and it has nothing to do with whether the author is a good or bad person.

Princess Magnolia
Beelzebub's youngest daughter and ruler of the Sloth ring (it was overtaken during a Hell Civil War). Magnolia is the most popular of her sisters and beloved by demons of all backgrounds. Her addictive honey hair can make even the most miserable demon smile, though consuming too much can leave them in an irreversible zombified state. Unlike her sisters, Magnolia considers herself a "herbivore" refusing to eat fellow demons as she finds it barbaric.
She has no qualms with eating Digital or Plant based demons though...
