               “Good thing I LIKE a challenge.” She charged at the other, doing whatever acrobatics necessary to avoid getting hit by the whip. “You’re going to have to do better than that.” She raised her arm to make a swing at her.

June spotted the movements and worked her wrist hard to twist her weapon out toward Shego's moving body. She was fast and very agile which June could respect when she wasn't being threatened with green flame and an attitude. "Oh I'm just breaking in."

The swing came and the woman attempted to catch the fist. June intended to try to gain control with closer ranged tactics. It was much easier to make someone submit that way but the way Shego fought, she wasn't so sure.

                “we’ll see about that.” she stepped back a bit to widen her stance before letting her hands turn to green fire. 

Somehow, the fire didn't phase her as much as she imagined it should. June was used to fighting others with a similar trick up their sleeves along with other elements. Letting it go, she uncoiled her whip and watched the other.

"I see you're merely warming up. Gonna take more than that to fry me."

“I think you might be getting possessive.” Azula muse as her head tilted to the side to make room for the other’s breath against her skin. Fighting the urge to let free a soft noise to the actions of June’s nails. Dark hair falling over the half covered pail skin of the queens shoulder. Even if the other woman was doing what no one else dare, getting possessive over the one fire bender who demanded to be her own, perhaps part of Azula found the fun in such a thing.

“Nothing has been able to stop us with you a step behind me, I suppose if someone should be aloud to stand closer to my side it should be you.” The closest to a thank you June might ever get from someone such as the the mad Queen of the Fire Nation. That and perhaps the way she was graced with the tips of Azula’s fingers brushing over her skin from the back of the top of June’s shirt. Looking for contact with warm touches.

June kissed the bite mark at her lover's neck and continued her nail work along her back. She had dared Azula at many turns in the past and tested the fire in her a lot. It also became an issue in gaining trust between them. Whenever trouble unleashed itself, June had been there to offer support in watching Azula's back. She had taken blows and more injuries to handle the Phoenix Queen's work. The words that fell from the woman's lips then with that in mind, June smiled.

"I will always be extremely honored to be the one at your side to be relied on. I want to be your support when you wish to have it but I will always be a constant as I have been. It will be more so with my post to you. My patience can continue to be ironed out through the whole show of courting you properly. I just hope I pull it off well enough."

                 THIS was what the war caused. Suffering people, STARVING people - and Zuko had been a big part of this fight, of this WAR. Just months ago he was one of those the people were scared of. Whenever they saw him they just saw the face of war - the son of the Fire Nation. He enjoyed their terrified looks until he didn’t anymore. Until he realised that the Fire Nation wasn’t great, that they didn’t do what was right - that they destroyed and KILLED others to become more and more powerful. 

                 “it feels as if back then I wasn’t HUMAN” he then replied, a bitter undertone swaying in his voice while he crossed his arms over his chest as if he tried to build up a WALL between him and the others. “It’s almost SAD to see this … when I become Fire Lord I will make sure that things like this will not happen again … that they will be BETTER” 

"You were human but you had blinders on so to speak. A reason and a mindset of them being nothing but castaways and workers to do whims. However, you've grown from your own journey you know. Zuko, you are very much human now and I can see it."Shifting forward, she offered a hand to his shoulder to look to him carefully. He had endured a great deal and kept going which she admired as a friend about him. In a way she understood moving on and fighting through all challenges to keep alive and do her own thing. "I know you will. You will be a great Fire Lord, Zuko. Have no doubts about that and all of the hurt people will soon see how great a man you've become as well with that."

At the other’s touch, her Queen leaned closer relishing in the attention as she always had when it came to June. Even in the moments they had fought, stubborn, hurt, and left for her own in the woods. She had held it against the commander for too long, but with every challenge she watched June pull stronger from it. One of the meany things that left tingles in the wake of the ex bounty hunters fingertips as they found Azula’s soft pail skin.

“Perhaps is time to show people the strength of us together.” Purred form the fire benders lips, a soft press of her thighs finding a firmer squeeze to the woman under hers hips. Getting a little worked up at the thought of not having to hide at least parts of their relationship. Finally getting to have the other on her arm, or perhaps be seen on June’s at the commanders own ball. “Let them feel the quake of our flames.”

A soft groan left her mouth feeling the grip from her lover and she was not one to ignore letting loose a few sounds at times. Her nails dragged down Azula's back from the motion and her mind grew hazed thinking over the future and being the one able to be close to Azula in public. It would put her mind to ease regardless having her as hers for the entire world to notice and make note of.

"Let them see the true power of us together. Let them be jealous of two strong women taking over the world and making it happen properly." she grinned leaning up to nip at her lover's neck once more.

June had merely gone as far as her body could take it away from where she had gotten jumped by higher numbers. Over half had found death thanks to her hand but she had fallen without realizing where she truly was. The adrenaline had taken it's toll leaving her to feel every broken rib and gashed open wound on her form.

Collapsing by Helga, June didn't remember her surroundings as a wave of excruciating pain hit leaving her gripping the dirt with her hands. She handled the pain without letting a single yell leave her lips as it took hold however. When she registered Helga's sarcastic voice, June pushed to stay on her knees.

"Felt my head swimming so I figured I'd come to get knocked down some more at your door."

Anyone would have looked in on the two and found insanity. Azula with the harsh yet calm minded way she commanded the Fire Nation to a heavy rise in power, even after only a few years of holding the throne. June for they way she seemed to follow behind the worlds most feared Queen, perhaps doing more then a little tame to the wild dragon that could have been lashed out on the world. Most of all no one would have been able to understand they way Azula, the woman who managed to cut all ties and move so swiftly to victory without a care of others, had found comfort in another.

Someone who hadn’t been born in her nation, and held no power of their own at the start of all of this. Something Azula more then found a little note of admiration for. “You wont leave my side, not for longer then I tell you too, and I will command you by my side every night.” Even if at first it would still be in secret. Appearances would dictate the two not seem to fall so harshly for one another so quick, even if the falling had been done in the meany years they leaned on one another.

“You were to be my personal guard anyways, commander.” The light trace of Azula’s nails danced with a bare brush against the other woman’s skin. Hoping just a little bit to drive her mad wanting more. “I can’t let you simply go out to war once it’s established your intentions are more then standing behind me at the head of my army.”

Hands drifted up Azula's spine before resting at her shoulders while June managed a smirk. She had known for quite sometime she would end up staying at the others side and it had come to her while dealing with a past injury a few months earlier. With Azula's hands and skill, the wound mended and barely left a mark on her skin. At the remark of commands, she leaned in to kiss at her jawline softly letting out a breathe along her skin.

"I've managed to be with you without others letting it slip for this long in the evenings. I can keep that up for as long as needed until you feel it's better to be seen. I've stayed close as you wished as well after healing and quite frankly I wouldn't wish to be away from you very long at all anymore. I've put in my time in being away for too long showing the world just how to bend to its knee for you."

Patience had paid off as June had suspected it would as did her own personal tactics in being just who she was with Azula to show what she was all about. She had held nothing back with her over their time together and did not hold secrets from her. Everything June knew, Azula knew as well including things far from military strategies.

It was much harder to fight the curl of her lips into a smile as June started to speak. Big displays of the others need for attention was going to be one thing, but June? The most charming part of it was that Azula already knew her commander had already proven and given much more then others had. All the while keeping every little secret the other woman might have learned along the way. Surely if anything kept the fire bender going back to the ex mercenary, it was the way she calmed the voices with her words, causing the world to feel hazy at the other woman’s touch. More like a drug that made her feel like the world was hers already. Even though they had a while to go until it was.

They would do it together, much like they did things together in Azula’s chambers. June following closely to Azula’s lead. Making all the right moves at all the right times, and even now with the other woman’s lap between her thighs Azula heard just the right words. 

“Most nights I have everything I desire, commander.” A soft kiss placed to June’s lips, Azula’s fingertips brushing against the fabric of her lovers top. “A fierce nation under my command, people shaking as our men follow their orders.” A warm path of the Queens lips starts to trail along the other woman’s jaw. Her tone falling to a hush as her fingers found their way against June’s skin. “More and more of the world becomes ours.” Then Azula paused for only a moment, her lips next to the other woman’s ear. “But I don’t always have you, and that has been a problem for me.”

A soft groan left June's mouth at the attention to her skin as warm fingers found her scarred flesh. It was too easy to get lost in the warm haze but she managed to stay focused as her partner spoke up on what she had and what she didn't have which caused a problem for her. Hearing it, June realized they both had the same exact issue about being apart from one another.

"When I court you properly, you won't be without me. I can stay by your side until it is absolutely needed that I be on the front lines with our army as you desire. I do not wish to be without you for long periods of time anymore and I'm sure you've noticed that with my behavior when I'd come home to you."

After the amount of time they had spent together through the years, June had learned how to read Azula quite well but she never wavered from supporting her in her own ways. She kept things quiet and often calculated things of great importance with her and no one else. She trusted the fire bender with everything she had and knew it was well placed. Many would have thought her insane for it but she was not one to care for what others thought of her. June could handle being thought of as a warmonger and a person lusting for power when none of it was particularly true.

“How will you keep my attention, commander?” A question the fell from her lips like a lion-bear playing with it’s food before it takes a bite. The Queen had no need to stray from someone so fierce in their loyalty. If there was one she had trusted since the mishap at boiling rock it would have to be June. 

Though the voices would always be there to ask, what was June looking to get out of all of this? 

It slipped to the back of the fire benders mind as slender fingers brushed into the other woman’s hair as she brought their lips close enough to place a soft kiss against the other woman’s for a moment. “How are you going to court me, June?”

The questions she asked would have caused others to either stutter or bark out their ideas but June was quiet while she thought over a proper response. Sure, she knew she could pull on how well they knew one another but it was a valid question. How could she proper court the most sought after woman in the Fire Nation?

June had proved her loyalty and continued to do so but what more could she have to offer to Azula besides something so simple? It was all she had to give besides all of herself. Staring into amber eyes, June felt her heart pick up the pace in beating.

"By showing you exactly the kind of person who can keep up with your every move in the proper way. I want to lavish you in my own ways. I know you have everything you ever desired with the Fire Nation being yours but I want to give you far more than that. I hope to keep your attention with sparring sessions, dinners, talks, outings where ever you'd wish. I know I don't have much to offer as others might but I would court you to the best of my ability by being myself."

                 things like THIS never failed to shock the prince - banished or not, he did not see everything this world had to offer yet. Gaze wandered to June who now pushed herself away from the spot on the wall. Zuko frowned lightly before he again let his gaze wander over the crowds. 

                 “Just a few months ago I would have attacked them with my SOLDIERS - and now? Now I almost feel SORRY for them” 

"They might recover with a great deal of time without being prodded like cattle. Some people do bounce back while others do not. Time will tell for all of them however. I cannot judge them for how they are now after the fact. Feeling sorry is natural for many with empathy to those who have suffered like they have. You're human."

He had certainly changed and she could even see it. It was something good to see as she understood how the world worked and how people could evolve.

"That is what happens when warlords sink their heels in regions where people don't notice. I believe those people were brought in from a far providence in the Earth Kingdom from the looks of some of them."

The closest Azula had come before to admitting to another her and the commander were more then just a Queen and her most loyal of companions was well June had been gone. Something she had never told the woman about, and might never unless someone else said something about the Queen lighting on of the guards on fire for seemingly no reason. Silly man had been over heard saying he wanted to ‘conquer the conquerer.’ Azula’s Conquer. Giving the words that passed the other woman’s lips a bit more then a sweet taste to Azula’s tongue. 

A silent appreciation the fire nations feared Queen showed with the delicate touches of a fire bending healer, one only June herself had know. Warmed palm setting to the other woman’s cheeks, and soft tone falling from the cut of Azula’s normally so demanding voice after catching her lovers lips. “It’ll make the other’s mad. For a while at least, they may try harder to win your Queens hand. You’ll have to stay close.”

The woman eased with the warming touch to her face. It relaxed her and she knew well she was the only other person to receive tending care from Azula with her healing talents. June also made certain to repay her in her own ways with affection and attention to her needs as well. It was merely how they functioned and she loved the Queen beyond anything in the world.

"I can handle being close and dealing with their anger. I have nothing to worry about when it comes to you as you can handle yourself but I can certainly put them all in their place when they try to fight back to get your attention. I won't let them think I'm a pushover when I am trying to court you properly and do things right so it's official and proper. I want that so no one else can bother either of us on such matters."
