“ I am, and you must be Zuko. ”
Katara smiled nervously as she tucked a long lock of dark brown hair behind her ear. He was one of the popular kids, known for his attractive face even with that scar on his face.
“ Thank you, sorry for bumping into you. I sometimes forget where I am when I’m studying. ”
She stumbled and looked into his amber eyes. She was so close to him, her hand planted on his chest and the new details of his eyes and skin that she’s never really seen until now.
“ Y– Yes, I’m fine… You can um.. let me go now. ”
She knew his name. Zuko’s heart leaped in his chest, the thud almost making him fall forward and flat on him face. He reminded himself that he was carrying her in his arm. “No worries.”
Zuko was far from charming yet he attempted to give her his best smile. His eyes couldn’t leave her, the blush colored on her cheeks had his mind going into over drive. Was she examining his face? Scrutiny was not new to him, in fact, Zuko was use to the stares of girls who followed him like lost puppies- and a couple guys, admittedly- but he only sought out one person; that very person wrapped in his arm, against his chest, and brushing her striking blue eyes across his face.
Until she reminded him to let go.
He lifts her upright, hands wide open to make sure she doesn’t fall again. Zuko takes a step back, rubbing a hand over the back of his neck. “Do you want me to help carry those to your class. I’m sure it’s not to far from mine. I-I don’t mind at all.”
