Roy was scouting out the city when he spotted a mugging.
Before he could do anything he watched an arrow go through the handle of the stolen purse and stick it to a wall.
@shithead-sharpshooter
“Normally my trick,” Roy muttered, knocking out the perp before walking over and pulling the arrow out. He handled it in the way only someone familiar with them would, looking it over.
“Maybe don't walk home alone anymore,” he told the frightened woman as he handed her the purse back.
Once the lady walked away clint came down
"i do like to keep those when i can" he pointed at the arrow.
Roy flipped it between his fingers as he eyed the other archer. “Who taught you to shoot?” he asked as he finally handed it over.
The purple colour scheme probably didn't help his suspiciousness
"a marksman from the circus i grew up in.... "Trick shot""
If Buck didn't become a bad guy he'd probably not have said the name
“You’re obviously in the hero business,” he motioned to Clint’s costume. Not to mention he’d saved the lady’s purse. “What do you call yourself?” Roy had intel on most heroes, and his goggles’ smart screen had already pulled up a search, waiting for a name.
"hawkeye" he said, sorta surprised Roy wouldn't know, i mean he's an avenger.
So either this guy was new or classified. “You’re just letting me interrogate you like this isn't your first rodeo.”
"... I've been a hero for a long time..." He raised a brow
"who are you?"
Not as long as he had, Roy would wager, but it also wasn’t a competition. “Professionally known as Arsenal. World’s best marksman, that sort of deal.”
He chuckled "who's calling you the world's best marksman?" He'd been called that for awhile, you don't get on a team full of superheroes as a guy with a bow unless you're really good.
His smile faded just a bit, wavering with old insecurities when this stranger laughed at him, at his skills. He probably didn’t mean it that way, but Roy, who had been severely underestimated and even mocked over the years, couldn’t take it any other way.
“Everyone I know,” he replied honestly, just a bit of tension in his tone. The temptation to just turn and walk away was real. He didn’t need to put up with being underestimated by a stranger too, did he?
"Well I'm sure you're good but i didn't get on the Avengers for being the word's second best marksmen" he was implying he was better than Roy.
“I’ve been doing trick shots at bad guys since I could lift a bow,” Roy insisted almost defensively. He didn’t like his skills being disregarded. “What the hell is an Avenger? That sounds like a Saturday morning cartoon.”
".... you...are you living under a rock? The Avengers.... like the word's protectors?? Chapin America? Hulk? Thor?... fucking black widow? And me, hawkeye?" He was actually bamboozled by this
This man had never heard of him, undermined his world renowned skills, and was part of a team that sounded an awful lot like the JLA but wasn't. That could mean only one thing.
“Oh this isn't my universe,” Roy realized. Not his first rodeo either.
Clint raised a brow "...hu..." Not his first rodeo as well
"....well this makes things a little more awkward i think. You got a place to stay?"
“Probably not,” Roy answered. “I don’t even know how I got here. Some Flashpoint or magic maybe. I need to get back to my friends though. I’m on a team too,” he explained.
Clint nods "well I want to help you find your way home. So why don't you come stay with me? And on the way back you can tell me about yourself?"
This guy was being so nice he almost didn’t trust it. But if he was a hero—or some variant of himself?—he probably wasn't lying, right?
“I’m Roy,” he finally said as he nodded.
He starts to walk back
"it's nice to meet you Roy, I'm Clint.
So what sort of team are you on?"
Roy fell into step with him, because honestly what else could he even do? “We call ourselves the Titans. We’ve been protecting earth since we were kids.”
"kids? That must be tough. I wasn't till i was a little older" he chuckled "i was jealous of a iron man" he shrugs.
"i think it's always cool when an archer is on a team though, need more of us"
“I’ve been in the hero gig since I was 8,” Roy explained. “But I’ve done archery longer. I don’t meet a lot of archers where I’m from. Is it common here?”
"there's a few but it's not a crazy amount. I got kate, she's a pretty good shot herself"
“Your daughter?” he asked, something sad in his expression. He was thinking of Lian. Always.
He shakes his head but smiles
"more like my partner in this job. Cap gave her my title when i died but then I stopped being dead, but i wasn't hawkeye for awhile, did my own thing but now we're both kinda hawkeye"
“When I was a kid they called me Speedy, because I could catch arrows in midair. Later it was Red Arrow to honor my dead mentor,” Roy explained. “Arsenal is who I am now though.”
He nods "you sure collect names, it's good to find yourself and a name that fits"
They got to an apartment building, nothing too standout and he opens the door and leans Roy up the stairs and down a hall
"home sweet home" it was a modest sized loft apartment. A dog came over, got excited at Clint and then started to sniff Roy.
At the kitchen island there was Kate going through a file on the counter, she looked around Roy's age
"Are we making a team of marksman now?"
She raised a brow at Roy
Roy crouched down to let the dog sniff his hand before petting it, but he glanced up at Kate’s comment, shouldering his bow a bit protectively. “I was sent here from another world somehow,” he explained.
"okay good, we've already got two Hawkeyes , 3 is kind of a crowd" kate joked
"Roy, this is Kate" he introduced
“Nice to meet you, Kate,” he offered her his hand. Normally he’d be flirting like there was no tomorrow, but he didn’t think he’d be in this world long enough to really make connections.
She shakes his hand "nice to meet you Roy"
"he's going to stay here until we find a way to get him home" he tells kate
"... you just met him and you're letting him stay in your house?" She looks at Roy "no offense"
📱: hey

@shithead-sharpshooter
📱: Hallo, nothing.
📱: What about you?
"perfect, let me know when you want to go"
"Im ready whenever you are" he kissed the archer's cheek
He smiles "okayz I'll wait till kate gets back and then we can go"

"i think it's always cool when an archer is on a team though, need more of us"
📱: hey
📱: what are you up to
@shithead-sharpshooter
📱: Hallo, nothing.
📱: What about you?
"Can I get you anything? To help with" he motioned to his ears he was willing to take him anywhere to go anywhere for him
"my apartment. You can stick around i just need to charge my batteries" he was thankful that Kurt was offering help
he nodded then moved to hold onto clint's arm he didnt bother asking to get dressed or anything wanting to get clint what he needed as fast as he could
"you can change if you want, I won't die just because I can't hear" he chuckled, Kurt's earnestness was cute
"but you are uncomfortable, i dont want you uncomfortable" he said
"it is fine, i fought a gang attack deaf, i will live if you go change" he says amused by Kurt's insistence
"In fact I don't want to leave until you change, my loft is kind of an open door for a friend of mine and I don't want you showing up naked"
"Alright alright," he said moving to grab his clothes then and put them on
Once Kurt is done he holds onto him
"okay now we can go"
he nods then with the smell of sulfur, theyre in Clints apartment
Once hes there Clint takes a second to get himself together and then he goes up the stairs in his loft.
He takes his hearing aids off and puts the batteries in the charger
And then he leans over the balcony to look at Kurt
"they'll take a bit to charge but you can totally stay" he says it a bit too loud for his smaller apartment.
he nods and then teleports up beside him "Do you want me to?"
He smiles "ya i think i do"
"Thats good because I too would like to" he smiled back
He pulls Kurt closer to kiss him
"you wanna watch a movie?" He'd just put subtitles on
"Sure," he said nodding
"sick" he grabs Kurt's hand and walks down to the couch and sits with Kurt.
Clint grabs the remote and flicks though Chanels, ah the good ol cable
He sat comfortably on the couch draping himself over clint, he definitely loved physical touch. He watched as clint flicked through not minding what they watched
He puts on some comedy movie, just whatever popped up and turned on the subtitles for himself. Both the speaking and subtitles were pretty fast
Kurt was having a hard time keeping up with what they were saying he tried to focus on it for a while before giving up and laying against the archer
Clint put his arm around Kurt and continues to watch for about 20 minutes before he gradually shifts to lay on his back with Kurt on-top
"this movie is kinda ass" he says a little too quiet this time
"Hm?" he looked up to clint before realizing he wouldnt be able to hear him so he made a confused look to put it across more clearly
He looked at kurt when he shifted
"this movie sucks, it's not very funny"
"To be truthful, I don't understand it" he smiled a bit awkwardly
"oh then we don't need to watch this crap"
He picked the remote up and flips to the news but turns it down a bit to just be there instead of actively watching it
he smiles and leans against clint laying like a cat ontop of him with his tail swaying as he listened to clint's heartbeat
He plays with Kurt's hair and occasionally looks at the tv screen.
After maybe like 15 minutes with the warmth and weight of kurt on him he just totally zoinked out
He smiled as he realized and let clint sleep continuing to listen to his heart. He didnt know how long hearing aids took to charge but he wanted to be able to keep time for when clint woke up incase he asked
When Clint napped he was outtt, especially when he didn't have his hearing aids.
So when the door opened Clint obviously didn't react
Kurt did, jumping up surprised and he teleported above the door on the rafters assessing the situation and checking if it was a threat
It was a dark haired girl who set her bag down on the kitchen island
"clint!" She didn't know he couldn't hear right now.
And Lucky came over to jump and lick her
She seemed comfortable enough to not be a threat, and Lucky seemed to know her and so he climbed down quietly as to not startle her "Um, He is asleep at the moment."
"whoh! Who the hell are you? Where did you come from?"
She stands up and looked kurt over and then looked over at the couch to see Clint
"Hallo, I am Kurt, Kurt Wagner." he said offering her a wave. He'd offer a handshake but he'd gotten used to the denial of one at one point he simply stopped offering.
"I was over by the door, I wasn't sure if you were an intruder or not."
"... Right... Okay...well I'm just here for something so don't mind me"
She walks towards a desk and starts to go through it
And then she groans
"How long have you known Clint?"
"Not very long" he said "Though I have known of him longer, with the news channels and everything it's hard not to" he joked "Is it something I can possibly help you find?"
"so you totally wouldn't know where he out the stuff i need....fineee"
She gets up and goes to the couch to shake Clint awake
He groans and pushed her away as he rolls over away from her
"whattt?"
He stands aside to watch the interaction not wanting to interfere
"you're like the worst deaf person ever" she would never say that to anyone but Clint. Sje waits for him to turn back over which he does and opens one eye to look at her
She signs
[where's the folder]
[what folder?]
[THE folder] she emphasizes with her hand movements
Clint points at the desk
[i looked there, you maybe moved it]
Clint sits up and goes to the desk which also means he cuts off the conversation cuz he isn't looking at her
She sighs and looks at Kurt
"do you know sign?"
"Sorry to say I do not.." he said a bit embarassed, "I dont think I could even learn to speak it" he looked to his three-fingered hands
"im sure you could learn a modified version" she shrugs
Clint stands up
"so...it isn't in there... Give me a second" he Gose upstairs to grab his hearing aids
"possibly but then those I try to speak with would have a hard time understanding me dont you think?" he asked genuinely
"i mean it would work for at least Clint, and maybe people won't understand all of it but i think they'd be understanding and happy you're trying"
She looks up at the loft "Clint is always happy to see someone try even if it isn't perfect"
he nodded looking up aswell "Thank you for the advice Miss..?"
"oh right, Kate, Kate Bishop" she smiles and extends her hand
"im hawkeye" she always found it funny introducing herself like that when Clint is also around cuz it makes it funnier
"Well it is nice to meet you Kate Bishop" he happily shook her hand, his tail swaying a bit from his happiness. "Does that not get confusing between the two of you?"
"definitely but it's funny"
Clint comes back downstairs
"...so last time i saw that folder it was in there...but obviously it isn't here anymore..."
he smiled seeing the humor in it
"....how the hell do you lose something like that???"
"I've been busy i just left it there for you. But I haven't been home all the time"
"...so someone stole it?"
"or it's in here somewhere else, listen come bactin lol an hour i will look for it"
"fine"
"It was nice to meet you Miss Bishop." he waves with a smile
"ya you too" she grabs her stuff "i will be back in an hour"
"alright" as soon as she leaves he sits on the couch and does not loom for anything
"come on" he pats the spot next to him
"Should you not be looking for the folder?" he asked as he crawled onto the bed with clint
"oh i know exactly where it is but she's as stubborn as i am and won't take a day she needs off"
"Ah I see" he smiled laying back ontop of clint "you were sleeping so soundly"
"i knowww, it was so nice. When I can't hear i just totally am out" he chuckled
"that is good to know" he said taking mental note "are they charged then?"
"like half way, ya. They'll be good untill i go to sleep tonight"
"Alright, that is good" he flicked his tail around
"do you wanna spend the night?"
"I wouldn't be opposed, as long as you have a fan" he joked, but he overheated easily on account of the fur so he was still half serious
"oh ya, right....ya i can set one up" he nods
"danke mein falke" he kissed clints cheek then
He puts his hands in Kurt's hair and then actually kisses him
he smiles and kisses him back then
He smiles into the kiss and then pulls back
"wanna get food? I know this really good local Porto Rican style restaurant"
Roy was scouting out the city when he spotted a mugging.
Before he could do anything he watched an arrow go through the handle of the stolen purse and stick it to a wall.
@shithead-sharpshooter
