So I got this jar of pepper which is to be thrown away, and I don't want to throw it away, it's a whole fucking jar, so I was thinking
Probably a desolation leitner, some text about anguish or physical torture, an old book written by hand, and the ink is the red-ish paint made of chili pepper, so when you touch the pages, and then touch your eyes... Not so interesting as a concept, but interesting in its potential reality!
I'm not actually sure if capsaicin will survive being mixed with other paint ingredients. Or how long it can survive after. We'll see when I get around testing
unleashes my horrible pepper in eye attack at you, book style
With the new announcement Homestuck is a Digital Leitner.
YEAH OKAY
Wait, what announcement?
sorry you found out about it like this but here you go

The adventures of Grumm and Dinnerbone. A childrens book about two friends, Grumm, the clumsy one, and Dinnerbone, the fun one.
No matter how you position the book, the text is always upside down, so it's quite difficult to read.
In the back is an endless supply of nametags. The kind people use at large get togethers.
If you write Grumm or Dinnerbone on a nametag, and stick it onto a living being, they will be flipped upside down.
Their legs will move exactly the same way, and move them without touching the floor. Their arms however will need to reach an object's actual placement.
If Dinnerbone is used, an added effect of adaptation to upsidedownness will occur and allow one to function properly, instinctively knowing to crouch upstairs to not get hit in the head, perceive the world properly with upside down eyes etc.
If Grumm is used, the person is instead given an extra bit of nausea and will most likely stumble around confused.
Okay I know I just sent an ask about a house of leaves leitner but to be honest the book does unironically feel like reading a spiral leitner it’s a rlly interesting horror book so i did think of a legitimate leitner concept for the book
If it were an actual Leitner it would probably cause hallucinations and nightmares, and you find you always want to go back to the book even though you know it’s causing all this stuff, and you just keep going deeper and letting the book take over your life.
Also the book is bigger on the inside probably (I imagine from the outside it looks like it has the book’s normal page count, (709-736 pages) but then it just… keeps going, so you read more and more, and get deeper and deeper into the book with no end in sight until the book physically and metaphorically consumes you, and still it makes no sense)
its so crazy getting all of my house of leaves context from these asks, i most definitely need to get my hands on a copy
House of Leaves leitner. It doesn’t actually do anything and is just the normal book but Jurgen Leitner read it and mistook the weird fucked up formatting for the book being from the spiral
(Do you think there’s placebo effect for leitners?)
house of leaves leitners have their own corner in this account. a veritable stack
Leitner that's actually just a bound copy of My Immortal
i dont know how old this ask is but i wasnt notified of it at all </3
I had this concept when talking to one of the many roleplay accounts of the fandom.
Leitner of the Terry Prattchet novel Witches Abroad, that has even more a focus on mirrors than the mundane book.
Either once you complete it, or once you destroy it, it disappears. Except! It still appears in mirrors, and seems to be held in your hand.
Then, bits of your body begin disappearing, while still being visible in mirrors. As long as you are within sight of them in your reflection, you can still use these body parts. Also, reflections seem to speed up the disappearing process, but it happens regardless, even if a lot slower.
Once you die, either by disappearing completely or by losing vital organs, the book reappears.
mmy kidnne ys ...
comedically tiny leitner that makes you think everything around you is suddenly way too big, towering over you. these effects are worse for tall people. if you read it all the way through you get shrunk and presumably lost in the carpet forever.
me and the dust #meandthedust
A leitner that makes people forget you exist the more you read it
you might open it and start reading for a bit, recent interactions and chance encounters go first, the person you bought it from forgot they even sold it to you, you don't notice a thing until you've read half of the book and you go to work the next day, no one knows why your even there, by the time you finish it's like you never even existed
Something like that
That feels like it's already a thing and I forgot to be honest
does that mean that you could maybe get away with not paying taxes. perchance
spiral leitner that's one of those fake books that are actually boxes, with another book inside which is also a fake book, and inside that is another fake book, and so on and so forth, forever
leitner inside a box which is a leitner inside a box which is also a leitner
Leather thats just one of those 3d science diagram books and upon opening it and touching the diagram it comes to like and you become the diagram and it takes your place.
does it take your body or does a set of blood vessels just kind of slough out of the diagram while yours replaces it
leitner that makes it so you can't read your native language, and can only read owospeak english
owo whats dis.... a stwange book......
Diabolical idea:
This book, once touched, disappears from your vision. However it keeps materializing wherever you go, in a very visible spot where everyone around you can see. The cover appears different to each person, appearing as the worst a smutty romance novel concept they can think of. But. To you, it’s invisible.
evil book of defamation that haunts you attack 💥💥💥
catching up on queuing submissions atm, but unfriendly reminder that harry potter/jkr fans arent welcome here at all
a flesh leitner that's an anatomy book
the effects can vary, maybe you morph into whatever really incorrect anatomy image you just read, or you can feel a phantom pain of your body twisting and mutate to "look" like whatever body part you're reading about, up to interpretation !
deck of many things except its you transforming into various body parts depending on what page you turn to
