Hey Snacks, here's this week's schedule and a few announcements.
I gave peeps a heads up last night in the raid night channel of the discord, but I'm postponing the MINE raids. I'm burnt out on streaming FFXIV and I also honestly think it's a mistake to try and get a static together for a MINE raid, even if it's something expansion-current like Arcadion, when UMAD is so new. I also remembered over the weekend that at some point this patch cycle we're supposed to be getting like…cross-data center PF, which would also make things a lot easier. Right now I'm eyeing August for us to do the raids for realsies; I also wanna see if we get more news about the cross-DC stuff at Fanfest in July.
So, what does that mean for streams going forward? Did you know my streaming FFXIV was actually part of a larger series of me streaming every main series FF game?

In the mean time, some youtube channel news: Some of you may have noticed a lack of shorts going up on the youtube channel lately. There's a number of reasons for that, but a big one has been the way they've been contributing to the burnout I've been going through. When I'm making clips of my streams, I scrub my own vods and edit them together myself, which takes a lot of time (even scrubbing my vods at 2x speed); I thought the right move would be to pivot to more scripted content, but while brainstorming things for that, I came to a realization: my shorts were turning into all FFXIV-related content, and I don't want to exclusively be a FFXIV creator. I want to make video essays talking about the writing of not only FFXIV but other video games, as well as anime, and I know the more focused I am on FFXIV-exclusive content now, the harder it's gonna be to pivot the channel to what I acutally want it to be later. I also want to finish writing my books and get published, which is another thing that making shorts was taking time and energy away from.
So, for the time being, I'm putting a pin on posting shorts on the youtube channel. If/ when I can afford to hire an editor, I'll reevaluate that, but for now I think this is what's best for both me and the channel.
I still want to do the VOD channel, but that might take a bit longer to happen than originally planned.
In the mean time, I have lots of fun stuff planned for July! Please look forward to it!
Edit: I forgot to mention: How Comfy is That Floor?! is still happening, because I enjoy making those and that shit's funny, I just don't want my channel to be me posting FFXIV-related shorts 5 times a day.
