Born from the neighborhood from which it derives its name (Shockoe Bottom in Richmond, Virginia), Shockoe Records seeks to project into a vibrant and vital future by celebrating and uplifting the region’s musical talent. The neighborhood, having evolved from its troubled history and decades of struggle, is now resonant with diverse and inclusive art and culture. By tapping into the Richmond area’s groundswell of new voices and sounds, Shockoe Records aims to be a parallel to this movement, bringing forth an array of artists from varied racial, ethnic and gender identity backgrounds.

It started with Guitar Hero on the Wii . . . yeah, really, a game! And the seed for REIN was planted: to transform a guitar into an electron-fueled, tube-glowing, speaker-pumping weapon for expression. With much pride and excited anticipation, Shockoe Records is proud to announce the completion of 65432 by REIN! In collaboration with Shockoe Records, REIN has created something that doesn't really exist in today’s landscape: a guitar-driven pop/rock album that's emotional, technical, powerful, and unforgettable. A modern love letter to guitar heroism and authentic songwriting in an era that's mostly forgotten what that means. "65432 is the most passionate and curiously produced project I've ever made. Every detail is loved and bespoke. We obsessed over it all," says front man Jordan Reinecke. "Shockoe Records gave me the time to do this right, and now we need your help launching it nationally.
