Haru was nervous, as she held an envelope in her hands. Swallowing a breath, she handed it to her father. "Um...happy father's day." Inside was a finely decorated card with balloons and glitter. Inside however, was an ultrasound picture of twins, though the gender wasn't determined yet. Under it, the card read "Congratulations! You're going to be a Grandfather!"

¥ ∫∫ it had been almost seven years since the entire... fiasco, as he liked to call it.  the metaverse had disappeared and the world had taken a long, deep breath and moved forward, spurred by the phantom thieves’ and the spectral redeemers’ examples.  the world eventually forgot about goro akechi, about junya kaneshiro, about tohru adachi––about kunikazu okumura.

he’d continued to rebuild his relationship with his daughter over the years, and while it was never going to be where either of them wanted, at the very least it’d gotten far better, to the point where they often reunited over tea.  this... wasn’t something that he’d expected.  not at all.

“haru... if this is a joke, i’m going to be very cross,” he said, and his voice managed not to crack.  “you had better––haru!  haru, this––!” alright, now he couldn’t hold it back; tears slipped down his cheeks as he looks up at her.  “you’re going to have twins?”

"Happy Father's day, papa." The young girl slides a box in front of him, her mop of curly hair barely seen over the top of his desk. Inside he would find a pair of cufflinks - obviously picked out and bought by their housekeeper, but Haru was still beaming with pride.

¥ ∫∫ a thick brow cocked in curiosity as haru slid the box over to him across his desk, and he opened it quickly and cleanly, untying the ribbon instead of cutting it so she could use it later ( he had already started teaching her to be spendthrift ).

       from curiosity comes a fond contentedness, and his expression softens into a smile.  “oh, my baby crocus––these are lovely!” immediately he puts them on and pats his thigh for haru to sit on so he can give her forehead a kiss.  “i’m very happy that you got me this.  thank you, haru.”

i’m sorry i haven’t been on here.  i wanna write a little more of the redeemer au (at the VERY LEAST a full summary) and draw some more concept art before comin back to kuni on here.
