So I finished the game two days ago so I'm here to dump some of my random thoughts I have after playing. This is in no specific order. OBVIOUSLY SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT (for like the whole game)
FIRST OF ALL I'M SOOO SOSOSO HAPPY DEEP CUT IS MORE FLESHED OUT NOW I LOVED READING ALL THEIR DIALOGUE + INTERACTIONS
Since team past won, will Deep Cut become a key part of Splatoon 4's story? I know we've seen a lot of the idols' backstories, but Deep Cut's ancestry kind of plays a big part in Raiders. Maybe we'll get to see more of that in future games because their past specifically seems to be important.
I wish we got more tidbits about Shiver, Frye and Big Man's past like what they talked about in that one 2023 interview. Like I want to hear them talk about their memories when they were younger I think that would've been cute, but I guess Shiver's photos are enough.
So... you're telling me that Big Man's real name is... Bigglesworth Manfred. BIGGLESWORTH. MANFRED. AND I'VE BEEN CALLING HIM MANTARO THIS WHOLE TIME. What the FUCK.
I love Frye, she's my favorite, but why was like 50% of her dialogue + other dialogue that mentions her about her eating and being hungry all the time. I get that she's a foodie but oh my god put some slack on my girl damn...
I like the ongoing detail that salmonids pride themselves on looking as tasty as possible and that the spirhalite stuff attached to them looks like salt.
Who's the Ikabod guy??? I need to know he's literally so funny.
I'm not personally a yumeshipper, but I would like to congratulate them all because why was this game lowk a little bit of a dating sim.
I guess the mechanic is the most impressive out of the all the protagonists we've had so far? I mean, they've got a helicopter license, they can sing kinda and not to mention they made the hideout ship and everything on it almost out of NOTHING. THEY PROGRAMMED FOUR WHOLE ASS GAMES OUT OF WHAT???
All the Deep Cut songs were straight fire I NEED to hear the whimsical song they sing in the hideout ship after you finish the main game.
Speaking of new songs, WILL THERE BE A NEW CONCERT??? I'M ITCHING TO KNOW THE SONG NAMES PLEASE.
But whyyy would Big Man still use his Ian BGM persona for his streamer gig? I guess we're getting a second big betrayal sometime in the future. (also WET FLOOR MENTIONED IN THAT SCROLL YAY THEY'RE ONE OF MY FAVORITE SPLATBANDS)
