Rhymes are beautiful. They're harmonious: within a rhyme, everything is in balance and at peace. Even basic rhymes have a beat: "cat" and "hat," "sad" and "bad." Rhymes are defined by connection, by the creation of relationships between words and ideas, by musicality. And that's true whether you're reading poetry or listening to NWA -- though, in NWA's case, it's an angry kind of beauty.
"Shoot A Rhyme" takes the traditional language-based rhyme and translates it to imagery. After all, with a little effort rhyme can be seen as well as heard: a head under a bed, a row in the snow, a moon in a spoon.
