Hedgehog plushies are finally here! Meet Quill. I’ve been working on this design for years and I’m so excited to share him with you. He’s gone through many different redesigns, but I wasn’t quite happy enough with any of them - until now! I am so happy with the way he turned out and I hope that you love him as much as I do.

Neat trick: I’ve found that soap works as a much more effective method of marking dark fabrics than markers or chalk. And it smells so clean!
Stitching together some happy little penguin faces! I cut, embroider, and sew together each little plushie face by hand.

Finishing up the last few stitches on one of my super soft new fox plushies! I sew each face on my hand and it’s my favorite step of the plush making process.

Snowy owls have had a special place in my heart ever since I started reading the Harry Potter books when I was a kid. The first plushies I made by hand were owls for that exact reason, and I love that this Hedwig-inspired design in particular seems to resonate with the most people - it means I’m not alone in how much these books mean to me.
The snowy owl plushies I make have been sold out for a few months, but they’re now back in my etsy shop with a new design and softer fabric! Click here to take one home.
Some snuggly little faceless wolves in progress! This is the first batch of my new wolf plushie design. The finished ones, who have faces, are newly available in my etsy shop!
They're here! Newly redesigned versions of a bunch of my handmade plushies are now available in my etsy shop. I can't even explain to you how soft these are - I can't pick one up without smiling, no matter how tough a day I've been having.
Their patterns have been completely reworked so I could start making them using this incredibly soft minky cuddle fabric and I’m really happy with the way they came out. In addition to the new products, you’ll find Fairweather Friends sporting a new banner and shop icon along with matching product photos for all of the new plushies.
All of these (except the otter; he’ll be showing up once the last fleece one finds a home) are characters that were previously sold out in my shop - some, for about a year! The wolves, owls, penguins, and foxes haven’t been available since this summer and the grumpy little polar bear hasn’t made an appearance since February. I’m especially excited to welcome back Eleanor the white rabbit, who sold out on black friday of 2014 and has finally returned to the shop this week with a brand new shape and coat.
Half of the new foxes I made are already gone, so it’s possible that these could sell quickly. I’ll try to keep up with making the ones that sell out, but the best way to make sure that you get to take home your favorite is to buy one sooner than later. Next week, I’ll be re-releasing a whole bunch of my older plushie designs with a significant makeover... and they’re all going to be made with minky cuddle fabric! This stuff is even softer than the fleece I’ve been using since I opened my etsy shop, Fairweather Friends, in 2010.
My current line of fleece plushies will remain available in my shop until they sell out, so if you had your eye on one of those, now would be a great time to snag it. Once these designs sell out, I’ll be giving them makeovers as well so it may be a little while before they’re available in my shop again (and they’ll look different once they are).
The new plushies will be more expensive to reflect the increased cost of the nicer fabric - it’s also tougher to work with so the price change will cover the extra time it takes me to make the new plushies. So if you’re interested in buying one of the remaining fleece plushies at the current price, visit fairweatherfriends.etsy.com to see what’s left!
I can’t wait for you guys to see the reworked designs! I still have lots to do to get ready for the launch, but I am so excited about it.
