Hi guys, I wanted to share my fic on here!
I am an early investor in the Dunkaerion Stocks, and I’ve been writing this, in bits and pieces, since the tag on AO3 was a mere babe of sixty-something works. So it makes me very happy to see it grow and to add to it myself!
Title:
Poison Prince
Summary:
“Ten years after being exiled to Essos, Aerion Targaryen is summoned back to Westeros by King Baelor. Unfortunately for everyone involved, he returns older, sharper, politically useful, and accompanied by a mysterious companion from across the Narrow Sea.
Egg is back at court. Dunk is given the thankless task of keeping an eye on Aerion. The Red Keep receives Aerion’s return with all the warmth and grace of a kicked hornet’s nest.
Dunk remembers Aerion as beautiful, cruel, and deeply alarming. What he gets instead is a prince who speaks in foreign tongues, makes himself useful in deeply irritating ways, and may or may not have actually changed, which is frankly worse.”

In short, it’s a fix-it slow burn with a lot of sweetness, a bit of political intrigue, and possibly an excessive amount of worldbuilding and characterisation. I’m trying to keep it as grounded in the ASOIAF source material as possible, just with a little less grit and a lot less death.
It’s pretty much fully drafted and i’m planning to update weekly-ish. Each chapters are around 10k so take a lot of time to edit and finalise.
Comments and constructive criticism are very welcome! I’ve already had to reshuffle a few things since putting out the first seven chapters. My character reference doc is now 62 pages long, which probably says it all!

Maybe I need to go back to my roots and make collages again. Writing chapter 6, while also going back to edit the last ones, is giving me a massive headache.
And yes, this is a shameless plug for all my Rhaenicent collages. They’re all gorgeous, obviously, but Dunkaeion just lends itself better to written media than beautiful women who look like literal art in every scene.
Also: how are people finding betas? Asking for myself. Please help.

of course i can talk about my process:
i use mainly pinterest shuffle, it’s an amazing resource. it’s really easy to use, i would definitely recommend if you want to make your own collages! it used to be invite only but you can get it on the app store.
all the clipping and editing features are already within the app and since it’s connected to your pinterest account, you can use any image you’ve pinned already in your collages.
i use a mix of pins; photos ive taken; text of quotes I like and stills from hotd to make my collages :)
