What I love about Sisko was how he could never be pinned down. Kirk was the fighter/lover, Picard the diplomat, Janeway the shepherd and Archer the astronaut. But Sisko was all of those and more. He was a warrior, a peacemaker, a religious icon. He was amateur historian, baseball fan, philosopher, spaceship reenactment enthusiast. He was a lover and a friend, a mentor, a war hero, a father and a son. He had a soft side but you knew not to mess with him. He always had one eye on the greater good but never forgot about those closest to him. Sisko was a true Renaissance man of the future, hell he was half god, but he was inescapably human. I love Picard, Kirk, Janeway etc. but out of all the captains Sisko feels the most like a real person. And I will defend his greatness with my dying breath.
