Sorry y'all, I meant to have it up earlier but I got surprised with a new allergen in my food, I'm finishing it up now and should have the Author Check-in up shortly.

So I know the first check in is coming up soon. If I'm late with it, please be patient. I just started a new job and it's an overnight shift so I'm very discombobulated. But I will do my best to get it out either the day before (to prevent being late) or after (if I end up being a bit late), I promise.

If you signed up as an author and haven't started writing yet, feel free to start now. First check-in is at the end of the month, where I'll need at least the summary of your work ready to show our artists.

Artists, when claims go live you will have the opportunity to pick 2-3 works. You will only have to work on one, this is just so that if multiple people pick one fic, you have a backup fic ready already.

Hopefully I'm making sense, my brain is fried. 🍳 New meds are not fun when they have side effects.

Hi! Two quick questions, if you don't mind 😄 what would be the timeline for this big bang? I've never done one before, so I'm not totally sure how they work, and I'm sadly short on time at the moment 😅 and as far as the discord goes, do we need to join to participate? Like is that where most of the event stuff will be happening? It looks like such a cool and fun time, I absolutely love the idea and that people are still doing active AoS stuff!!

Right now I'm looking on everything starting in April, with people working on their fics between then and August. Posting would happen in August.

As for the discord, there's no need to join it.

Welcome to the (hopefully annual) first Shotgun Axe, an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Big Bang run by @uraniumshark.

1. What is a Big Bang?

A Big Bang is a fandom event that lets creators like artists pair with fanfiction writers. This event spans a few months at a time, and during that time the writers will work on one fanfiction (that isn't revealed to anyone but the artist) until posting day.

This page on the Fanlore Wiki explains it fabulosly.

2. How many words do I have to write?

For this first Shotgun Axe, we have a minimum of 5k words for the fanfictions.

3. What is considered art for this Big Bang?

Art can be many things. You can create physical media, such as a drawing, knitted object from your fanfiction, collage, anything you can think of. For digital media it's about the same, digital art, pixel art, moodboards, and playlists are accepted. You could even write a song if you wanted.

4. Is AI allowed?

Absolutely not. Everything in this Big Bang will be human created.

5. Do you have a Discord?

Yes, we do!

6. How much of the show do I need to have seen to participate?

At least season 1, episode 1! Past that we're not gatekeeping participation.
