NYE in Charlotte!

Charlotte Fact: In hopes of getting in good favor with King George area settlers named the city Charlotte after the King’s wife. Charlotte later got the nickname “Queen City”.

Traveling to Charlotte was quite fun! Siri took my boyfriend and I on an old street version where we were able to see small towns between Kentucky and Tennessee. If seven hour is too long of a drive (we had to drive at night since its winter) I would recommend taking a stop in Knoxville, TN and maximizing your travel opportunity.

My boyfriend told me prior to the trip that he had a surprise for me on NYE and that I could wear whatever I want. I assumed we were going to live jazz and food so I dressed up in heels and everything else to my surprise we went to a Cavaliers v. Hornets game (so I look like a basketball wife want to be lol). It was the cutest to see him light up with excitement and impressive that he was able to hold the secret. Makes sense why he was being odd when we saw fans waiting for Lebron to leave the hotel and I asked a million questions.

Sightseeing/Taste of City: GROUPON, GROUPON AND MORE GROUPONS!! We were able to do fun activities like Studio Movie Grille (dinner while in the movies), mobile scavenger hunt (only do this if its warm or if you like cold wind hitting your face) and the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African American Arts. Please read Groupon limitations so you know what restrictions it has.

As for food (best for last people) North Carolina has AMAZING BBQ as you may have heard! I was actually blown away that it could stand a chance against Tennessee BBQ (particularly Nashville). We also ate soul food at Mert’s which was a spot on recommendation from other friends!

Christmas in Cincinnati!

Cincinnati Fact: In 1916 a project to create a subway was introduced to alleviate traffic issues and was set to expand beyond the downtown area. Economic hardships and the rising supply costs due to World War One ended the project.

Normally eating on Christmas Eve results in Waffle House for dinner but my boyfriend and I were lucky and ended up at Bru Burger downtown which had amazing customer service and a fun nacho style burger!

Sightseeing/Taste of the City: The city has beautiful murals all around town and an area known as Over The Rhine also known as OTR which is a must see! The must eat is Grippos which beats Lay’s BBQ chips any day.

The wonderful thing about praying is that you leave a world of not being able to do something, and enter God’s realm where everything is possible. He specializes in the impossible. Nothing is too great for His almighty power. Nothing is too small for His love.
