Has anyone ever like.. Actually been offended by someone saying merry Christmas? I’ve literally never heard of this happening ever. I’m beginning to think this war on Christmas might me a myth?

I have seen it happen Not like someone just says “merry Christmas” to them and they lose their shit But like, ppl will whine if businesses say merry Christmas instead of happy holidays or smth bc they feel like the world is shoving religion down their throats (which i find a little stupid, bc its actually a religious holiday.. You’re welcome to celebrate it secularly but its still a religious holiday) However Christians also get a bit too touchy with any celebration that doesnt involve Jesus, as we saw last year with that Starbucks cups fiasco. Christians get just as butthurt if someone DOES say Happy Holidays as any atheists/other non Christians get when someone says Merry Christmas and honestly its all bullshit imo like just get over urselves and be fucking jolly

Well I mean, the month of December isn’t a Christian religious holiday so I can sort of understand where people come from with the “you should just say happy holidays” thing. Ive been hearing merry Christmas for a solid month now. But really if someone is nice enough to wish you well in the holiday season, you should just smile and say thank you.

The town I live in people are politically correct at least in retail and will say happy holidays and customers are like, “MERRY CHRISTMAS"😒😒😒😒

I don’t mind when people respond merry Christmas when I say happy holidays but like Jesus when they say it as if they’re offended by me wishing them well I’m like ?????? Sorry for trying to be nice??? It’ll never happen again dude

I work in retail in a small town where many residents are Christian. I’m a confirmed Lutheran myself. However at work I CHOOSE to say “happy holidays”. If someone responds “merry Christmas” I say it back, but at work if someone said to me “happy Hanukkah” I would wish them it back. I CHOOSE to say “happy holidays” because we all, no matter if we are religious or atheist, celebrate the new year, so that is one of the holidays I wish are happy for them. But that’s just me. It may still offend people, and if I find it does I aim to change it. I feel strongly that even if someone doesn’t practice the same religion as me to respect what is special to them about this time because I aim as a Christian to just try and be a nice person.
