About
The
Hair
In
This
Movie?
Animating hair is so difficult. The fact that the animators took the time to make each character’s hair unique is astounding. Peter’s slightly graying and falling into his face. The texture in Mile’s. The frizz in Rio’s. Gwen’s roots showing. Peni’s having a more anime style. MJ’s being perfect (because I expect nothing less from her). I truly love this movie and the animators deserve all the praise for their amazing work.
Yo, you’ve been holding out on me. You throw these up yet?… C’mon. I got a spot you ain’t gonna believe.
Congratulations to the cast and crew of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse on their Best Animated Feature win at the 91st Academy Awards!
give this man some sleep
Since Into the Spider Verse won awards, it’s time to think about sequels.
1. Each Spider Person gets their own sequel.
I’m not a huge fan of this idea because I’m fully sure Spider Noir cannot support a feature length movie, and I’m doubtful of whether or not Spider Ham, Peter B Parker, or Golden Boy Parker could. I can see a unique movie for each of these, but it would be a bit of a strain on the patience of the audience for example when they go to see a Spider Verse movie only to discover it’s a romcom about Peter B Parker figuring out how to make up with Mary Jane.
2. Spider Verse the TV series.
In many ways the ideal way to continue the story. Short format lets you get a mix up of stories about characters that might not work for a whole movie, but also tell longer stories about characters that can. But also probably will have a smaller budget and that might hinder the wild and colorful creativity that made the movie so good. Then again, awesome 5 minute Spider Ham toons to open or close each episode right?
3. Feature movies for Miles, Gwen, and Peni; with other Spider People as supporting cast.
This is what I want the most, because we get to spend time with characters who have got a really solid story to connect with. We get to see Miles Morales after he’s figured out Spider Manning, we get a whole Gwen Stacy movie, and also Spider Anime with Peni. Lightly dust with one or two of the other Spider People per movie and it would make a really keen boxed set.
4. Bonus version: Into the Spider Verse 2: The Venom Verse
I regret nothing.
Ok, not to be one of Those people™ from the UA fandom, but is that Vanya Hargreeves?
Just saying…
Get up Miles
Miles “Who’s Morales?” Morales
Everyone tried to straighten Rami Malek’s tie, but…

This movie is going to be a huge milestone in history of animated movies.
