Hi. If you are taking requests could you do a Tricia Miller x reader where the reader is sent to the shu and Tricia comforts her after words. Thank you. (If you aren't it's totally fine)
“What was that lil’ dreadlocks?” The tall, black haired, blue eyed inmate asks.
“I didn’t say anything. I promise.” Tricia becomes nervous and is scared something will happen, but she doesn’t like to back down from a fight. One of the only things her mom taught her.
“I believe you did with your raggedy ass cornrows that you call hair.”
Tricia has enough and stands up from the table where her and her friends were playing cards during yard time. She’s short compared to the other inmate, who most don’t go around because they don’t want any trouble, but this time trouble had come to Tricia. Somehow that always happens to the scrappy little woman. That’s exactly what she is; scrappy.
“What did you say?” Tricia asks, but you pull her back down so as to not start trouble. The last thing Tricia needs is trouble. She’s getting out soon and you don’t want her to ruin it. She deserves a life outside the walls of this nasty prison. If you could even call it a prison. People think of a prison as a bed, food, and small spaces. Try having four other people in the same 8 by 8 cell as you with only a piece of bread for all of you. You can imagine the fights that happen as a result.
“You heard exactly what i said.”
Neither one is backing down which is always a bad sign. The other girls at the table get quiet, some even walk away. You sit beside Tricia, holding her down. You can feel the anger building up. She always let anger get the best of her. She’s still young, she’ll learn if she gets the chance to get out of here.
“Actually I didn’t.”
“Trice, stop. You’re getting out in 3 days, don’t ruin it.” You say as a reminder to not do anything stupid.
“Oh you think you’re getting out, do you?”
“I know i’m getting out. Can’t say the same for you.” Tricia says and turns back to play her game.
You’re proud of her for turning the other cheek. She’s not always that good at doing it.
The other inmate grabs her shoulder and tries to turn her around. “I’m not done with this conversation.”
Having heard enough, you decide to intervene before it gets worse. You stand up and become eye level with her. “She’s done talking. Just move on already.”
“I know you aren’t trying to get in on this, are you?”
“I’m not her. I’m never getting out, so pick on someone your own size if you’re going to do something.” You respond without a beat.
The inmate hesitates and just looks around at the gathering of people, including guards.
For some reason, she still decides to continue. She throws one good punch and you’re throwing back. You pin her down and her group is trying to get you off of her. Finally the guards grab ahold of both of you and you see Tricia looking at you in awe. You don’t normally show this side of you, so it’s something she’s never seen before. As they haul you off, she mouths thank you and that’s all you need to keep you going until you’re out of the Shu. Since you didn’t start the fight, they only keep you for a day which means you get to see Tricia leave.
They finally let you back and you do the walk of shame back into the room with your friends. Tricia comes running up to hug you. You get a little touch before a guard tells you to stop.
“I thought they were gonna keep you there. They haven’t let Paige out yet.” Tricia tells you as your friends are walking up.
“That’s because she had to go to the infirmary because you whooped her ass.” One says and everybody laughs.
“I couldn’t let you get your day taken. You’re getting to go home.” You say, but can’t hold back the tears.
The day in the shu made you realize you really want out and that’ll never happen. You’re stuck here forever. You see the hope in Tricia’s eyes and it’s so hard to not let it all out. You try to hold it together as best as you can.
“Hey guys, I’m gonna talk to her for a little bit.” Tricia says to the others. She always sees right through you. She knows something’s wrong.
You both sit on her bunk and hold each others hand’s.
“Talk to me, what’s wrong?” She asks.
You stay silent, but look at her. You hold her gaze for a few moments before she impatiently asks you again.
“I just realized that I want more than just this but I’m never going to get it. Having to sit alone with my thoughts again. You know how it goes.” The tears roll.
She hugs you and just holds you there. For such a young girl, she’s so strong. She’ll make something of herself out in the real world.
“It’s okay. When I get out, I’m going to find a way to get you out. I’ll read up on stuff and I’ll talk to you all the time. You’re not alone. I’ve got you.”
You’re thankful she gives you false hope, even just for a minute. It makes you happy. You’ve become so close in the 4 years she’s been here. To see her free, will be the best thing since you’ve been in here. Nobody deserves it more than she does.
You lift your head back up and just look at the beautiful young woman sitting criss cross in front of you. There’s just something about her that always intrigued you. Of course you never told anyone, but deep down you could feel that she felt it to.
She slowly leans in and suddenly your lips touch. It takes you by surprise, but you let it happen. It feels good to let your guard down a little bit and she’s the only one who’s been able to do that.
You put your hand on her thigh to bring you closer together. She pulls away and suddenly you’re brought back to reality.
“I’ve wanted to do that from the moment I laid my eyes on you.”
The feelings are finally being vocalized. Something you never thought would happen or even thought was possible. You don’t do this kind of thing, but Tricia Miller has brought out the best of you.
