Feel like no one else is talking about how Nikki was constantly fighting to break out of the wishes control from the very beginning. When Wish Nikki walked back to the car and started talking to Bear. There's a moment where real Nikki comes back and she says "What the fuck is going on?!" You can tell because her real normal voice is coming back. Its not noticeable at first but Wish Nikki has this subtle way of pitching her voice higher and cuter and more baby like the more shes with bear. It becomes more and more obvious when Wish Nikki gets more and more out of control. But it's there from the very first moment wish nikki comes into being. Her voice is higher and more silly. As if wish is fully turning Nikki into how Bear sees her or wants her to be for him.

Also I don’t think Nikki’s going to prison despite most want to think, chances are she’ll likely be seen as mentally unstable and be sent to an insane asylum to rot there until she dies which is lot worse knowing the loss of autonomy and high risk of abuse inside, most likely would be abused by staff.

Why is this film so cruel, I hate you Bear so much, he can fuck himself for doing this to Nikki!!

i absolutely love how nikki is nearly always bathed in shadow (whether it’s fully in the dark or with a single light behind her with her as the faceless darkness). she’s quite literally become a shadow of her former self. no autonomy, no personal thoughts or emotions, just a carved image of what bear desired.
