I love you, inexplicable N64 Switch dock ⊟

Hyperkin Lab is one of my favorite accessory outfits going – they put so many resources into such odd flights of fancy, leading to things too wonderful to be real, like the relaunched Xbox Duke controller, the Retron 77 (which awaits an eventual Tiny giveaway in storage, I’ve just realized) and this. 

Why would a Switch dock be shaped like an N64? Why that console when the Switch has almost no common threads with that one weird console? And why would it be Play it Loud green? I don’t know, but I can dig it.

I’ve been trying to read if the problems with third-party Switch docks have been resolved since last year, and my official findings indicate… man I don’t know. I think so?

25 years after its original release to Game Boy, this classic is getting a “modern re-imagining”, with everything from the graphics and music overhauled.

What a strange and difficult game that was

How Wario paints others vs how he paints himself ⊟ 

WarioWare Gold has one of the best amiibo features yet, allowing you to scan a figure that the eponymous swindler will paint, and then try to sell you. His portraits are magnificently awful, applying wild gradients and inverted colors to crude sketches – check out all the paintings posted on the wonderfully named Mon Amiibo and this imgur gallery I saw on ResetEra.

Wario puts a bit more effort when painting himself, though, as you can see here when the character’s Smash Bros. figure is scanned (I photoshopped the painting onto the template). He’s gotta live up to the game’s Japanese title, Made in Wario Gorgeous, right? NintenDaan also shared a video showing what Wario’s standard figure looks like painted and the game’s amiibo feature.
