The countdown has been slowly ticking closer to its end. It won’t be long now until that happens. That- whatever that is. A few more hours, a couple minutes, a several seconds- four seconds- two seconds- two seconds. Two seconds. The timer froze in the midst of its count without warning. Is it broken, malfunctioning, or…?
The noise from the speakers abruptly came to life, “Hellooo, everyone! Everyone, a body has been found! This means, like promised, the counter will never reach 0. Your end won’t come so soon anymore. You should thank the culprit when you catch them! If- If you do.
“And thank Mira for finding the body!”

“Um n-no! I don’t have a problem with it, that is, well- I’m fine!” he finally spat out. He was clearly nervous and blushing madly. So he was a little bit intimidated. He let out a breath he wasn’t aware he had been holding.
He was grateful when Kenji asked him how he was feeling. He shifted his stance, eyes away from Kenji as he was still fairly embarrassed. He crossed his arms over his chest, and his hands were just barely shaking. He frowned, his mind filing through everything that happened in the trial, and after. He wasn’t ok, not really. He didn’t want to admit that though, and easily complied with returning to his room.
Once in his thankfully empty room, Seiichi figured he should say something. “I…its hard to comprehend….! I didn’t think people would really break here, or maybe I did but just didn’t want it to happen.” He shrugged futility, chewing on his thoughts.
Kenji shrugged. He was could tell Seiichi was uncomfortable, yeah, but he clearly wasn’t going to point it out. He pulled the cigarette out and frowned. “Hey. Calm down. I’m not gonna hurt you.” He knew he was a pretty intimidating guy, but he was legitimately concerned about most of the others.
Kenji was pissed off from the events. It just didn’t make sense, and it frustrated him. He was also upset... but he wasn’t going to show it. He simply watched Seiichi and followed him into his room, taking a seat on one of the beds. “An understandable thing to think. The whole situation is a bit surreal, so it’s hard to imagine whatever comes next. Although, I wasn’t that surprised. And it’d be best to expect another one before long.”
He frowned. No one really wanted this to happen. But it was still going to regardless. He shrugged a little. He hadn’t spoken to the victim or the killer, and the only reason he felt so affected was the execution. What a gruesome way to go.

In the midst of the investigation that had only just begun, the noise of the intercom interrupts any progress.
“Ikiryo and Seiichi are ahead of everyone. They move fast. Really fast. Fast enough to find someone else before anyone else. Should they get a prize? A prize for finding her? No, the gift of death is as much as anyone could ever want. Your tablets are updated with the new one! Find it! It’s not far. It’s very easy. Even Erika can find it if she tries.”
Sure enough, if you check your tablet, you will find yet another file added.

It’s four hours past noon, and the density of this fog has only thickened and become heavier. The visibility outside of the buildings is scarce. Anything could be behind you. Anything could be in front of you. Any shadow you see could be the harbinger of your end. Any sound could be the presence of an entity unknown. Suddenly, the noise of the speakers surge to life, and that voice speaks through.
“Good news! There’s good news for everyone. A body has been found in the morgue. Everyone, go join Ikiryo and Seiichi in the morgue! Make it quick, and investigate well before the trial!”
The speakers fall silent. There it is, the announcement for the second murder. You should hurry to the morgue as the voice instructed.

Seiichi felt a bit bad for making Kenji wait after the trail, but figured he would understand after the announcement. Having finished the unpleasant task with Erika, Seiichi departed from her and hurried to the sleeping area. Entering the hallway he caught sight of Kenji, relaxing and smoking.
As he approached Kenji he scrunched up his nose at the smoke, but made no comment. “Sorry to keep you waiting… um, what is it that you wanted to talk about?” he looked up at him, almost a bit surprised Kenji was even still hanging around.
Kenji had just been milling about when Seiichi came up to him, apologizing. He noticed him scrunch up his nose, and frowned. “Do you have a problem with my smoking?” It probably seemed like he was being hostile with the question, daring Seiichi to say he did. But he was actually just trying to be courteous. If it was bothering the entomologist, he’d stop. He’d really take any excuse to stop smoking.
“Don’t be sorry. It’s not your fault.” Kenji shrugged his shoulders indifferently. He wondered why their captor had chosen someone like Seiichi to carry the body. Probably just to fuck with the kid. He seemed a bit squeamish, and didn’t seem suitable for carrying a body around at all. “How’re you feeling? After the trial, that is.” He looked around. “Why don’t we go into your room?” Kenji wanted to make sure Seiichi was doing alright. After that trial, he couldn’t blame him if he were a little shaken.

Kenji had asked to speak to Seiichi after the trial, and would’ve gone to Fumika’s old room. Unfortunately, Erika had already taken it, leaving him without a place to meet the entomologist. He still wanted to talk to him though, so he waited in the hall, lighting a cigarette and leaning against the wall.
Seiichi reminded him a lot of Hiyori. He thought about his sister for a few moments. Hopefully, she was safe back at home with Blythe. The two of them had him worried sick all week, and he wouldn’t have been surprised if he’d cracked before Fumika did, just to ensure everyone’s safety. Looking at Seiichi, he did seem emotional, but also determined. He admired that. Hiyori’s determination was what had gotten her into Hope’s Peak, wasn’t it?
But Seiichi had been called away to deal with moving Eiji’s body. Still really shitty what happened. So he simply waited in the hall for the boy to come back, so he could meet with him. He just wanted to see if he’d be open to forming a makeshift alliance.

GAME OVER FUMIKA MIZUNO HAS BEEN FOUND GUILTY COMMENCING EXECUTION
Cirque du Lune
Fumika’s head was fuzzy, and her vision was blurry. She couldn’t tell where she was, and as she looked around, a bright light filled her vision. Putting a hand to her head, she squinted, trying to find a way to see clearly. There was a deafening roar… one she recognized very well. It was the sound of a crowd, whooping and roaring loudly. Slowly her vision returned to her, and she could tell where she was: a colossal big top. She stood in a cage, and ran up to the bars, putting her hands on them. What was going on?
C-Could they see her? No. She felt it on her head, the mask she’d always worn during her performances. No one could see her face, thank god. Her makeshift rabbit mask, while somewhat odd looking, had brought her troupe attention, even though she didn’t want much of it. It had also served to hide her identity to the world. As far as they were concerned, she was just “Diana.”
“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, welcome to Monobear’s Freak Show!” Fumika frowned. Freak show? Was he talking about her? She could feel the crowd’s eyes poring into her, looking and wondering just what was wrong with this girl. What sort of hideous face was hidden underneath that mask? Fumika began to sweat. She wasn’t concerned with dying. She welcomed it. Since she’d killed… her troupe would be safe. At least she hoped so.
“Underneath her mask is the most monstrous face possible, but I’ll leave that to your imaginations. We all call this little rabbit Diana.” It was clear now where the voice was coming from. There was a Monobear dressed in a ringmaster’s outfit standing next to her cage. As the crowd watched her, she began to feel her skin crawl. This was different from her normal performances… she could feel every single set of eyes individually mocking her, like the freak she was. She winced. “It’s not that smart, either. It’s not even really that good for anything besides the show! Let’s all take a moment to laugh at this pitiful creature, who strayed too far from its old home!” A loud bang went off behind her, and she flinched. The crowd laughed at her, and she found herself sweating more. She couldn’t stand being held on display to be laughed at, like some sort of exhibit. She had to get control of this situation and the crowd…
“Why don’t you all come down here! Diana, you know, is also the Roman deity of the hunt! And we’re always one for audience participation, so let’s play a little game with our star exhibit.” Fumika snapped around as the cage she was in was opened, and found a pair of monobears walking towards her. Grabbing her from the arms, they began dragging her out as she kicked and screamed. They carried her to the center of the stadium, where a massive target had been set up, with a set of shackles on it.
She was placed on the wheel, her arms and legs spread out. A line had already been set up, and Fumika would see what was going on. The Mono-ringmaster handed a bow to the first person in line, followed by an arrow. “Your goal,” the bear said, “is to hit that thing with the arrow.”
The first arrow whizzed towards her, and pinned itself right next to her ear, vibrating.
The second arrow lodged itself in her arm. The third, her ankle. One after one the barrage of arrows continued to strike her, turning her into a veritable pin cushion. Fumika didn’t protest, and did her best to avoid reacting. So this was how she’d die? Some sort of monster on display for a game? She frowned. She was prepared to die… but this method wasn’t what she wanted. It didn’t matter though.
No one kept track of when Diana’s head slumped over, or when exactly she’d stopped moving at all. By the time the last arrow was shot, the board had been filled with arrows, as people began to file out of the tent, leaving the pierced body where it was.
Fumika Mizuno, the Super High School Level Ringmistress, is dead.
Body Discovered
dangansummer:
It’s early, too early. Many are sleeping peacefully at this time of 2am, and others getting ready to head to their beds. No one could have been prepared for the sudden outburst of static from the speakers, which may have startled some awake.
“Good morning..!! Something amazing just happened, so your families don’t have to die. That’s really great. In the showers, Nikki found a body. Nikki found a body and is busy touching it all over. Go look..! Who the body is, I’ll let you find out.
But, you can find out through your tablets now. If you look on the main screen, there’s a new tab. It’s a tab for case files. It makes it sound like you’re actual detectives with a case file, so it’s really cool. Everyone please look at it, and you’ll also think it’s really cool! Use it to help investigate and put pieces together. You’re welcome. Have fun.”
A body was found in the showers? So it finally happened. You ought to make your way to the showers, where you will indeed find Nikkita hugging a corpse in the cubicle furthest away from the door. By approaching the body, you can see the identity of the corpse as Eiji Katashi, SHSL Demonologist.
Caring to check your tablet, there is indeed a new tab located on the Main Screen that reads “Case File”. It lists the identity of the victim, the cause of death, and the time. Useful.

Honestly, she could’ve probably gotten used to being down in this place. Nobody seemed like they were gonna kill anyone, they had books to read, and some of the people here seemed friendly! Well, that was how she was thinking before she heard static and then the unidentifiable voice once again, which definitely couldn’t be good, considering what came out of it the first time they heard it.
She quickly made her way over to the hospital, and sure enough, there were the tablets. The maps were kinda neat to look at, she could see everyones names, and sure enough, you could tell the time as well! Maybe the voice was nice this time.
No. No it wasn’t, she questioned herself as to why she would even think about that. Kill the people she really cared about? It couldn’t be real, she frantically searched for the live feed on the tablet, and sure enough, it worked. It was just her family, the family that she cared about, but not as much as she could. Lukewarm. Tears would be shed, but she would get over it sooner than later.
She snapped out of it as soon as the voice spoke her name. Plenty of times actually, which was enough to get completely rid of the smile that usually covered her face. Even then, she barely had time to process what was said before she was forced to face it, with the help of a boy who completely opposite of her, not that she judged anyone by their looks or anything!
“I-I swear, I didn’t do it on purpose! Please don’t hurt me, I didn’t mean to do anything, I promise!” Tears were forming in her eyes, but as soon as she noticed, she angrily wiped them away and smiled once again. “I mean, uh… Lets not get mad, alrighty? Come on, turn that frown upside down, everything is gonna be fine!”
Kenji crossed his arms, and didn’t lighten up as he continued to glare at her. It was just and accident and that did make things slightly better. Slightly. She still fucked up enough to get a deadly weapon into their hands. He sighed more, shutting his eyes. Maybe he should just calm down.
“Be more careful what you say. You wouldn’t want someone to think you’d want someone else dead would you? Because that’s what asking for a weapon suggests.” He frowned at her. Anyone killing in this situation would be a terrible circumstance. Handing them an axe is practically setting up for someone to die. Though they could still use some other methods, the axe just facilitated it.
“No. It’s not going to be okay. What makes you think it will be?” Someone was going to kill, Kenji was sure of it. They would’ve killed even without the axe, so there really was no point in getting upset. But there’s no reason to be happy.
impending death
shslbugboy:
Seiichi was apprehensive to hear the overhead voice once again, knowing whatever came up couldn’t possibly be good. When directed towards the hospital, like most of the other students he began to make his way there. Already outside, he was already quite close to the large building. The announcement sounded fine enough until…
He stopped dead in his tracks when the announcer began talking about the feed. His shoulders stiffened and his throat closed. Suddenly, suddenly it wasn’t so easy to breathe. He bit his lip and rubbed his hands at dry eyes, there weren’t tears yet, he’d cried a lot today – but not again yet. He continued his way to the hospital, albeit faster this time.
Picking up one of the tablets, he held it tensely in his hands. Afraid to switch it to the feed. His face twisted into a grimace and he quickly switched it over, switching until… breath caught at what he saw. He expect it with that the announcement had said but… his family. God, his mother, father. His sisters. His sister’s had decided to stay home with their parents for awhile after Seiichi had left to go to Hopes Peak. They wouldn’t worry about him, not yet. They looked happy.
Seiichi took a deep breath, took a glance at the axe leaning against the counter, and walked out of the hospital. Taking a left directly out of the hospital doors, he took a seat next to the wired fenced off area, leaning against the building. He took a deep breath, and looked at the dying (and some, few fresh) flowers scattered about. He wasn’t really sure why the area was fenced off but – he thought about his family again. He held the tablet to his chest and shuddered out a shaky breath. He was crying again… but this time silently. He hoped this didn’t become a trend. No matter how long he spent down here, he hoped everyday wouldn’t be in tears.
He had switched off the feed very soon after first seeing it. He couldn’t look at it anymore. At least… not right now. He feared the time, a week from now he supposed, that he would turn it on and see something much less kind.
“What in the world a-am I supposed to do in this k-kind of situation…”
This motive upset Kenji greatly. His mom had never done anything wrong to him, and while his aunt and uncle were a bit harsh, they usually meant for him. He didn’t like when they treated him like shit, but he kind of deserved it in his opinion. And... Hiyori. Why if someone laid a hand on Hiyori, Kenji’d just...
He lit a cigarette and cringed. He hated the damn things, to be honest, but he had a problem with them. And with the fact that Blythe wasn’t around to help moderate him, well. He sighed. He really had to work on his self control. He tossed it onto the ground and walked away. He shoved his hands deep into his pockets. He hoped staying off them didn’t make him too much grumpier.
He was walking, thinking about the video he’d just seen. What bullshit. So, their captor was going to try to trick them into killing, were they? Kenji frowned. He didn’t want to kill, but he feared losing his temper and attacking someone without thinking. He didn’t want to accidentally hurt someone, so he considered it best to avoid each other for now.
It was then he heard someone near him. Looking over, he saw another one of the students. Oh boy. Kenji sighed. He was just sitting there and crying. He walked up and squinted at him. “What’s the matter?” He tapped his foot. “If you’re upset about your family, crying isn’t going to do anything about it.”
Can I Axe You Something? (Closed Starter)
(This is a closed starter for Yui)
Kenji drummed on his elbows, a look of irritation on his face as that voice went on and on. They were getting their electronic IDs, that was good. It would help them identify each other a bit better. And the map was definitely a plus. The third function, however, was a lot less pleasant.
He was definitely worried about his aunt and uncle, but more importantly, Hiyori was there. He gritted his teeth. What the hell? How did they get this video anyways? Questions were rushing through Kenji’s head. Why if something happened to her, he just knew he’d kill someone. But... she was fine for now. Kenji had to remember how to keep his head.
Then, the voice went on. He heard it mention the axe next to the Electro IDs, and brought up Yui’s question. So, this girl was asking about weapons? Why the hell did she need to know about them? He clenched his fists, putting them to his side. It was her fault that they had a weapon provided to them now, and that put them in danger. He didn’t know if she had asked in hopes of getting one, or it was just an innocent question. He looked at the roster on his electro ID, determining who Yui was. Upon finding her, he walked up to her, intentionally stepping straight into her field of vision. "Nice fucking work. Are you trying to get us all killed? Did you just go and ask for a weapon?” Kenji was fuming, and scowled at her, before taking a deep breath. He glared daggers at her, waiting for her response to the questions.

shsl-unknown:
Nikki turned at the sound of someone calling her name, her face instantly lighting up at the realization of who it was. Kenji! “She walked over to him and hugged him quickly, taking his hands and smiling brightly. “Kenji! It so good to see a familiar face here!” She said happily, taking in his appearance slowly. Other than looking a little shocked like everyone else was, he looked fine. That was good…
She tilted her head a little and blinked. “You don’t seem to know vhat is going on eider, no?” She asked, taking her hands back and crossing her arms across her chest. It bothered her that whoever was behind this was able to kidnap 20 people and put them in the strangest of places.
Kenji merely stood as Nikki approached him, and grunted when she hugged him. Kenji wasn’t one for affections, so he felt no need to return the hug. Why should he? She, on the other hand, seemed to be affectionate enough for the both of them, taking his hands after the hug had finished already. He looked up at her, and smiled faintly. “Yeah, yeah, yeah. You too. So do you have any clue what the hell’s going on here?”
Unfortunately, her response already showed him that she knew nothing. Well, no more than anyone else. “Not a clue. Sorry pal.” One she released his hands, he brushed off his jacket, shoving his hands in his pockets. “Really, your guess is as good as mine, and the same probably goes for everyone else in this fuckhole.” He looked around him. “What is this place? Some kinda... facility or some shit? Wonder what it’s used for."
