A much younger Carmilla smiles at the question. It seems that at least at ten years old, she hasn't quite lost herself in her vampiric delusions. Her teeth aren't sharpened, and she's not wearing a vampire outfit--although her shirt does have cartoony bats on it. She looks downright innocent compared to the self-claimed "Queen of the Night" her later self becomes. She does have the large bat plush that she keeps well into her teenage years, however, and holds it up as she answers the question.

"I wanna be a vet! Especially if people bring in poor little bats! They're soooooooo cute!!" Later she would be devastated to learn that people don't bring bats to a veternarian.
