Free Time! ....I think. [Open]
Elizabeth stood around in the dormitory hallways, thinking to herself about certain things, and staring outside the window. Mostly about the ordinary life outside, and the recent whispers in her mind. Wasn't somebody going to look for them? Didn't the police already bust the barred gates outside? And manage to disable the electric fences? Just what were the whispers saying? 'Stay'? what did that mean? It was really strange. At an estimate, it had already been several weeks after they arrived, several months maybe. She had to admit her track of time had slowly been lost.
Her finger found its way between brown sideburns. Twisting it around her finger, her eyes focused on it. She missed the jingles in her hair, but the flower she received a while back from Souda made her feel rather pleased, as if the others were still watching them. She knew they did. Not noticing a person's footsteps approaching, the girl jumped a bit, squeaking when she realised the presence of another nearby. "O-oh! Y-You scared me... Do you wish to talk?" She smiled at them gently, tilting her head on a certain axis to appear as cheerful as can be.

New Bitch on the Block (Open)
Ā Chiemi crossed her arms as she looked over at the girl. What was with her? She wasnāt gonna touch her or anything, geez! Why did people continue to look at her like that anyway? Chiemi was someone who should be loved AND feared. It pissed her off when there was only fear or intimidation there, but whatever!Ā
"Chiemi Shinozaki. Iām a Broadway Performer." She replied quite simply at the taller girl.Ā Stiffling a short yawn, the Broadway Performer continued to give the girl a piercing gaze. āThat would probably be best, yes. If I have to be stuck in this place, I might as well know what I have to deal with. You know?" Just then, her expression turned into a bored one as poor Elizabeth attempted small conversation.Ā Although her eyes stared at Elizabeth as if to say āwhat the hell did you say, you little bitch?ā, she said nothing in response. Simply crossing her arms was enough to tell her off, rather than with words. Why the hell should she bother starting a fight? Such an idea was simply stupid, for now. Although Chiemi was a bit of a bitch, she knew who to fight with for the most part. This girl would probably end up crying, which would be amusing in its own merits, but she would have nothing to attribute to an argument.Ā "Oh? Is there something dangerous going on?" The Broadway star instantly became very curious about it all. āSo tell me dear: Who died?" There was an eerie sort of laughter that came out, but it was only in good fun. She had no clue about this hellhole.Ā
"Hm? Is something wrong, Shinozaki-san?" She tilted her head playfully. Unable to get Chiemi's message of annoyance. Elizabeth cleared her throat. "W-Well... I guess despite it being so dangerous, i suppose i should welcome you. Welcome to Regal Academy, Shinozaki-san." Giggling nervously, a hand ran through her hair. "W-Who died...? D-Don't say that!! H-How did you know about that!! Wh-Who told you that!?" Elizabeth may have had a minor meltdown at that point. Taking hold of her wrists and puling her close. Her hands brought the shorter ones up, as if to beg. Her eyes shining with determined curiousity. "H-How do you know about that!!? Did you meet Headmaster Insanity yet!?"

Memorials and Rosemary. [OPEN]
Ā "Iā¦" Kouta mumbled, studying the ribbon resting safely against his wrist. He did feel protected, but maybe it was just that Elizabeth was by his side.
"I donātā¦" He tried again, but to no avail. He wasnāt even sure what it was he was trying to say.Ā
"Iā¦Iā¦" Kouta stared down at the ribbon with enough force to set it ablaze. He bit his lip and looked back to Elizabeth. He could feel the familiar lump in his throat, and the tears threatening to well up in his eyes. He was used to this feeling, justā¦not like this.
Kouta pulled Elizabeth into another hug, giving up on trying to speak in favor of resting his chin on her shoulder. She shouldnāt see him cry, after all. Becauseā¦he was supposed to protect her.
"D-Do you like i-- uwah!!" Unable to finish her sentence, Elizabeth felt a pull, only finding herself in Kouta's arms only a few moments after. She petted his hair, eventually settling herself into the hug. Even if the charm didn't work, Even if she died, she knew that Kouta would always be safe. She did trust him to a great degree after all.
Tightening her arms a bit, she then released. But not before tilting the boy's chin up and landing a small peck on his lips affectionately. Too bad that soon ended quickly after she realised what she had done. Blushing a deep shade of red, looking away from his rather weary face. "I-I'm sorry..!!" She stammered, Ā "I-I acted without thinking again.." Playing with a sideburn, her face felt like it was burning up.
"B-But...I-I trust Kouta-kun, I know we'll get out of this..somehow...besides! it's what..."
A glance to the memorial site,
"...they would want, right?"
and another hug.
"..thank you...and...sorry..."
New Bitch on the Block (Open)
Great, so she was in a new school, huh? Chiemi honestly hated going to new schools. Why should she have to associate herself with dumb bitches and hoes when she had a perfectly fine governess traveling from show to show with her? Sure, during her off season, she occasionally attended school, but that was often short lived. Sighing, the Broadway Performer was soon brought into the school.Ā The girl looked like a human version of a raven when she came in. With piercing red eyes, black hair, a black flapper dress and black shoes, she looked fierce as she did calculating. Perhaps that seemed silly, considering the fact that she stood at a mere 5ā2ā. If you told her that however, sheād glare at you for being a stupid bitch and not knowing who the fuck she was! Well ok: no she didnāt really care if you didnāt know who she was. Whatever.Ā Chiemi was directed to the mess hall where she waited to meet someone who know what went down at this place. "..Uh, hiā¦" She finally said as a person approached. Welp.
"A-Ah! Hello there!" Elizabeth greeted warmly. Insanity booked in some new students again. Oh well. As long as they avoided trouble or causing the same problem a certain rat did, then everything would be fine!Ā
Maybe.
"W-We got new students again, huh? Uh-um...Elizabeth! My name's Elizabeth! Nice to meet you!" As she pointed to herself, she observed how the new classmate looked. The girl in front of her was really cute. If not intimidating. All she needed now was a feather scarf and she could really look like a pretty birdie. "If you would like, I could guide you around the school! Like a tour, maybe! It's completely up to you."
"Mm..." Elizabeth looked at her thoughtfully, hand on chin. After a short while, she landed the bottom of her fist on her palm. An 'i've got it' look plastered on her face.Ā "Ah! I got it! You're a tsundere type! The piercing eyes say so!" Elizabeth shared a serious look with her,Ā beforeĀ stifling soft laughter, then releasing a giggle. Elizabeth found herself tilting her head to a certain axis playfully. "Ehehe~ I'm only playing!~"
After a short while of that, a sudden realisation was made within the mediums mind. "O-Oh n-! Wh-What am i doing?! I-It's dangerous here! W-We shouldn't be getting new students right now!" Funny. It was hard to forget the situation they were in. But it's excusable in this case, probably, being with Elizabeth and all.
Tears and Rest. [Kouta-chan]
-
"R..Rightā¦" Kouta mumbled to himself as she parted from the hug. Were they really believing in him? The thought was actually a little terrifying. Could he really keep her safe? What would he do if he couldnāt?
Noā¦that was silly! Of course he could! We could and he would! He just he had to straighten up first. Itās hard to protect someone when youāre hiding away and crying all of the time. Souda and Yukan and Suzuā¦they wouldnāt appreciate him acting like that, probably.
"Y-Youāre right!" Kouta responded, lacing his fingers around hers once again. It felt warm and safe, and reminded him that he wasnāt quite as alone as he thought he was.
"Iāll definitelyā¦Iāll definitely make sure we get out of here someday! The two of usā¦" He stared down at their linked hands in thought. If they kept holding hands like this, thereās no way one of them would get hurtā¦right?
"Weā¦Weāll definitely make it out of here." Kouta assured.Ā
Elizabeth smiled at his assurance. He was almost back to his normal self. Almost. It was always good to reassure him he wasn't alone in the school. Smiling gently, she lifted up his bangs, planting a peck on the exposed forehead. Hopefully that would cheer him up a bit more.Ā
As she pulled her hand away, Elizabeth tilted her head at the boy playfully, "I'm sure we will. Matsui-san and the others too! (Campbell-kun, can come i suppose) We can make a proper memorial for everyone when we get out, okay? Maybe i could watch your magic shows as well! and meet your pet rabbit! Eheh." Yes. They'd do that together. She just didn't want to leave his side, ever. "Also, Kouta-kun, May i call you Kou-chan? It's a cute name for a cute boy."
"...Kou-chan, are you sleepy? Do you want to take a nap?" The dark rings under his eyes worried the medium a bit. It was easy to tell that he could no longer sleep properly after what had happened a few days ago.Ā
A notepad uh-
Oh.
Youāre doomed. Sorry.
E-Ehhh!? W-Wh-Wha⦠Ahhhh!! What should I do!? Th-There has to be someway out of this, right!?
Iā¦I think Iāll just go hi-hide in my room for nowā¦
[LOUD BREAKING DOOR DOWN]
Wh-Who's got the cooties!? K-Kouta-kun! Grey-san! A-are you two safe!? D-did you get it?!
Tears and Rest. [Kouta-chan]
Ā "Iā¦I-Itās okay, Elizabeth-chan!" Kouta smiled back at the concerned girl heād grown to adore. She was being strong. He wasnāt being very fair to her, and he knew thatāit was just so hard. Why did everything have to be so hard in this terrible place? How could he have possibly thought that everything would be okay? That they would get out that easily? Kouta laced his fingers around Elizabethās after she took his hands. Glancing down at them, her hands were small and delicate: like a dollāsāembarrassingly, his werenāt much less dainty, even after all of the kendo training.
"Youāre right! Souāā¦G-Goāā¦" Kouta felt his hands tremble and shake within Elizabethās, along with his voice.Ā It didnāt make sense to him. Why couldnāt he just be stronger, or braver? Heād tried so hard before, and yet Elizabeth was here to console him. He was supposed to be consoling her, right? That was the way it usually went on tvā¦
"Weā¦I should be looking out for you right now!" He explained, attempting to keep up appearances with a grin. āYouā¦Youāre the most important person to me here right now."Ā
In a way, he was happy that she had come to check on him.
"I-I don't think it's okay..!! Y-You've been on my mind a lot and...-" Elizabeth stammered tearfully, flustering over every word she said. Her hands gripped his tightly as they trembled. As indecipherable words emerged out of her mouth, the girls arms eventually found their way around his body, pulling him into a tight hug. "Y-You're important to me too.."Ā
A moment of silence.
"..-G.Goichi-san..Suzu-senpai...Mori-san..i'm sure they're believing in you that you'll be alright. Besides, I'm sure i'll be safe in your hands." She parted away from him, smiling and tilting her head a bit. Kouta would always be there for her. Always, and she would do the same too.
Linking one of her hands with his she spoke as gently as she could, " I-It's alright if you miss them...I miss them too.."
Tears and Rest. [Kouta-chan]
Ā Kouta instinctively flinched at the slight sound of the door opening. This was it, wasnāt it? Kenneth had heard him and now he was coming to kill him for ratting him out. For sending Souda after him and being a bad mole. He was going to die crying like a sniveling child in Suzuās room, and the worst part was that he couldnāt think of a single reason that would make it unjustified.
He was only slightly relieved to meet eyes with the real culprit.
"Eh! E-Elizabeth-chan!" Kouta sputtered, making a quick but futile attempt to straighten himself out. This was no good! He wanted to be the one to protect her, after all, but maybe it really was impossible for Kouta to protect anyone after all? Even after all of his training withā¦
"I just thought Iād take a look aroundā¦because Iā¦I-I thought I left something in Suzuki-sanās room awhile ago!" Kouta explained, trying to think of a good reason for hiding out in your dead friendās room that didnāt sound completely creepy or weird. Was that even possible? The boy hopped off the bed and walked to the girl, ready to leave as to not cause concern.
"Bā¦but I guess I was wrong! Ah hahā¦hahahahah." Kouta rubbed at the nape of his neck nervously. Was it even worth bothering to hide the fact that heād been crying anymore? If there was one person he didnāt want to look weak in front of, it was Elizabeth! Butā¦
"Whaā¦What are you doing here, Elizabeth-chan?" He tried to give the girl a friendly smile and cheery voice. He really was happy that she was still here, aftrer all, even if it was hard to appreciate what little you did have when so much was being taken away. There was still something to make himself keep trying, even if he wasnāt doing a very good job right now!
Elizabeth could tell he was lying. Why would he be on the bed if he was only looking for something? She was almost sure that she heard crying. "K-Kouta-kun, A-are you lying..?" She didn't want to doubt him, but Kouta was quite the bad liar. "H-Have you been crying..? Kouta-kun. Your eyes are red.." Elizabeth traced a hand lightly on his cheek, feeling if it was wet or not. You probably know the answer to what she thought next.
"I was worried about you, s-so i wanted to look for you. Pl-plus...Goichi-san...wanted us to protect eachother so.." Elizabeth bit her lip, unable to find the words she wanted to speak. She had to admit, she often cried at night, or broke the promised curfew to say hello to the others at the memorial. She missed them, but usually once a spirit is put at peace, they're at peace. Calling them would've meant pulling them away from their happiness in the other side, and she didn't want that.
Elizabeth slowly took Kouta's hands into her own. "Kouta-kun...It's alright to tell me whats wrong..." She tilted her head worriedly at the boy, and awaited a reply.
Rat Trap (OPEN)
Five days.
It had been five full days since Kenneth had left his dorm.
And with good reason.
Heād been hiding out, all bunkered up in his little room ever since the end of the last trial. He knew what was coming, he wasnāt stupid. The looks he got said it all. One toe out of line, and youāre dead.
He was, as it were, Public Enemy #1.
He had skittered out of the court room like some sort of vermin, and barricaded his door. He new he was at the top of everyoneās shit list right now, he couldnāt afford to pretend otherwise. His plan was to wait it out till the end; stay out of sight, stay out of mind.
What he hadnātĀ allottedĀ for in this oh-so-brilliantĀ planĀ of his though, was theĀ crushingĀ humility of it all. When youāre licking the crumbs out of your last pack of saltines, and got your head in the bathroom sink cause the bubblerās twoĀ corridorsĀ too far, you start to get real familiar with Shame.
Letās just say these sweats of his were starting to feel real ālived in.ā
But he couldnāt keep it up. He was in such a rush when he was grabbing food from the mess hall, heād only snagged enough for maybe a week (and that was stretching it, he was losing weight fast,) and he was already scraping the bottom of the barrel.Ā
It was looking like he was going to have to make a quick run for supplies⦠shit.
Tentatively, Kenneth opened his door. It was late in the evening, maybe no one was up? He hoped so at least. Itād be a real fucking bad time to make a guest appearance right now, after hiding out for the week.
Just as it looked like he was clear, he heard foot steps. Shit, shit!
He spun around on his would-beĀ assailantĀ eyes wide with a ācaught-in-the-actā fear in them. He could even bring himself to stutter out a hello.
"..!!" Elizabeth didn't believe it. Encountering a rat while on a pleasant walk wasn't a good thing to be greeted by in such a high class academy. "K-Kenneth..-san, Y-You..." He had visibly lost some weight, but Elizabeth couldn't even give two shits about it. Standing before her was the person who triggered the despairing events that had happened not too long ago. Feeling the rage, She brought her hand up high, and gave him a rather painful (and loud) smack on the face.
The girl shut her eyes tightly as the noise rang out the empty hallway, as if she was the one getting hit. She had never hit someone before, unless they we're possessed. But, this person, Kenneth Campbell, really deserved that. Probably. She opened one eye before setting herself back in her usual position, with a more angry face as opposed to her usual calm one. She watched him quietly, before turning her gaze down to the ground. "I-It's your fault..." She managed to whisper after a while of silence. "I-It's your fault!!" Elizabeth looked up, creating pure eye contact, and almost yelling at him. "I-If you hadn't...If you hadn't..!!" She couldn't bear to finish her sentence. It wasn't completely his fault. Or was it? She just didn't know anymore. Never in her life had she been this mad at someone. Water was felt in her eyes. Tears of rage and sadness most likely, but she couldn't cry now.
Tears and Rest. [Kouta-chan]
"Mmmm, where could he be..?" Elizabeth wandered the hallways. Kouta always seemed to be depressed nowadays. Understandable. Suzu and Souda were gone, and the one other 'leader' they had was a coward. She checked the magicians room earlier, knocking and ringing his doorbell. No dice. Everywhere else in the school was scouted as well, and still no trace of him. It was only by chance that she happened to notice a certain persons door slightly open, and some sobbing noises inside.
Elizabeth read the name plaque.
[Suzuki, Suzu]
That was odd. Elizabeth would've sensed it if a ghost decided to do a haunting in one of the rooms. That would've only meant one thing. Opening the door to enter, Elizabeth stepped inside.
"Kouta...-kun?"
Memorials and Rosemary. [OPEN]
Ā āItā¦It is though.ā Kouta uttered a weak response, not yet willing himself to look at the girl. How could he? He was being so pathetic, while she was being strong; even going so far as to set up something nice for their fallen classmates. Why couldnāt he do that? Why couldnāt he look at her? Was it guilt, or maybe fear?
āIf I hadnāt been sā¦so stupid, Goichi-san wouldnāt have had toā¦ā Kouta explained in a hushed tone. Though slightly comforted by Elizabethās gesture, he kept his head down, face obscured. It was embarrassing, being in this position, but he was much too distressed to care.
āIā¦I even told him where they were. I-Iā¦I lead him right to themā¦!ā The boy raised his voice in desperation at the memory. Heād been dwelling on the thought that maybe, if he had kept his mouth shut, both Suzu and Souda would be alive at this moment. Elizabeth wouldnāt need to set up this memorial, and all of them could be happy again. If he hadnāt been soā¦
Bringing his face back out to the open, the magician slowly reached into his pocket with his free hand, eventually bringing out a small pocketknife. He held it out in front of them in plain sight for Elizabeth to see.
āā¦.I found this in my pocket, after I woke up from a nap with Neechan a few days ago.ā Kouta explained, extending his hand and releasing his grip. He let it fall to the ground, allowing the cold metal fall against the floor with a clatter. āThatāsā¦that was her only weapon. Sh-sheā¦she gave itā¦to me.ā
āIā¦messed up,ā Kouta stared down at the small blade with an empty gaze. It was just a small piece of metal, but it could have easily been the difference between life and death in a number of situations. āI-I had plenty of chances to give it back to her, but Iāā The magician bit down his lower lip, nearly drawing blood.
āSh-she said she didnāt need protection, but Iā¦ā Kouta continued, desperately trying to keep his breathing even. He allowed his grip to tighten around Elizabethās hand in return. He couldnāt cry now! āIā¦" He closed his eyes tightly, hoping to will away the thoughts.
āA giftā¦?ā Kouta looked over to Elizabeth for the first time, flustered and confused. It didnāt make sense to him. He had helped kill Suzu and Souda, why would she give him a gift?
"Kouta-kun....." Without thinking, Elizabeth gave him a side hug. Nobody had to suffer like this. Although he was right, it wasn't entirely his fault. If only Kenneth didn't try to use everyone for his own good. Then none of this would've happened.
Elizabeth saw the pocket knife fall to the floor, recognizing its appearance. "S-Senpai...Senpai didn't keep it...?" A shiver trickled down her back. After Kouta's explanation, Elizabeth blinked a few tears away, and picked up the small knife. "Kouta-kun.... I don't think Senpai would like you not appreciating her gift." She said lightly. Elizabeth placed the knife in his hands, closing and encasing the knife. The girl gave him another hug, wrapping her arms around his shivering body. "Don't blame yourself so...Senpai...Goichi-san...They wouldn't want you to do this."
Elizabeth separated from Kouta, taking her ribbon in her hands. Clasping her hands in front of her mouth, along with the ribbon inside them, Elizabeth began to pray. After a short while, she opened her palms. Symbols and traditional writing lined the edges of the silk. She turned to smile at him, even though she still has a few tears in her eyes. Gently lifting up one of his wrists, she tied the ribbon around it. "R-remember how you gave me a charm? I never got to repay the favor. Th-this...i asked them to protect you, as long as you wore this. So don't be sad...Kouta-kun."
Memorials and Rosemary. [OPEN]
Ā āEā¦Elizabeth?ā Kouta called out to the girl cautiously. Unable to sleep that night as well, he had left the safety of his room to investigate the noise. He was nervous for her, wandering around alone so late in the night, or perhaps early in the morning. Especially after what had happened. After the people they had lostā¦
āWhā¦ā The boy cleared his throat. He couldnāt sound so pathetic! Not in front of Elizabeth! āWh-What is this?ā Well, so much for that. He just couldnāt shake his stutter. He took a few steps toward the girl, the girl who was perhaps the only person he could trust now. Should he even trust her? He had fully trusted Kenneth and Souda too, andā¦
And that didnāt exactly go so well.Ā
The boy took a seat next to the girl, bringing his knees to his chest and resting his chin on them. He was tired, but not tired enough to do anything about it. So he looked over her memorial quietly. A little gathering for all of the people theyād lost.
"ā¦Iā¦Iām really sorry, Elizabeth-chan," Kouta murmured, taking his eyes off of the set-up only to bury his face in his knees.
"Kouta-kun.." Elizabeth kept her eyes glued on the other. He was really out of it wasn't he. Well, She didn't really blame him. She didn't want to believe it either, she was so sure it was Kenneth who did it, and not...him. Placing her hand on Kouta's own, she sat a bit closer to him. Hoping that it would comfort him if she did. "What are you apologizing for..?" She asked gently, "This isn't your fault..." Elizabeth gripped his hand tighter, but gently in order not to make him panic. The sun was rising, creating a painting like landscape past the electric fence.Ā "Goichi-san....He didn't mean to hurt senpai...Campbell..." She bit her lip, trying to prevent tears from falling. Instead of continuing, she removed her ribbon hair band, along with the bell pins. He gave her a charm, so why couldn't she? "K-Kouta-kun...Is it alright if i give you a gift..?" She smiled at him softly, hoping that it would cheer him up.
Memorials and Rosemary. [OPEN]
Elizabeth was unable to sleep, as usual. The whispers kept her up, yes. But even more so that two major figures were gone from her life, from the mutual killing life. She groaned, stuffing her head in her hands, hoping to kill the headache that went on in her mind. Might as well get a few things off it. Just before the crack of dawn, Elizabeth went to work on an idea she had in mind. She tore a few pages out of her reading material to achieve a few things and even ripped off a teddy bears arm, heck, she even managed to get her hands on a few items thought to be sealed away (hoping that they won't mind). She just didn't want to forget 'them'. Elizabeth removed some of her channelling gear from her little box, and replaced it with the items needed. When that was settled, she nodded, dashing out of her dorm room, but being careful not to make any sound. Elizabeth had already made her way to the entrance by the time it was 5:00am. Just 2 more hours until everyone woke up. Taking a deep breath, she began to work. She opened her box, taking out several items. In front of the notice board lay; A Teddy with an eyepatch, A Teddy with broken limbs and torn arms, A small little figurine of a guitar, A small Kendo stick made from paper, An origami fire axe, and lastly, A picture of a tower that seemed to be cut out from a storybook with a little piece of card at the back to make it stand. When the previous step was finally completed, Elizabeth placed lighted candles of different shapes and sizes surrounding the items, and a little card that had a few goodbyes written on. 30 minutes left. Elizabeth took out some leftover incense from her box to pay homage to the traditions of spirits, and prayed that they were happy, wherever they were. As a final touch, Elizabeth placed a few different flowers that she had picked earlier to make it look pretty, placing a rosemary with all of the items, and different colored flowers surrounding the memorial. Giving it a rather haunting look. But why did she place rosemary specifically with the items? Well, a person with the knowledge of the meaning could know why. Rosemary meant things such as; memories or quiet strength, but the most special meaning within them to Elizabeth was; "Because you have entered my life, all my worries have dissappeared." Yes, that was what Elizabeth was going for. She smiled at her little memorial she made, but didn't realise someone had already been awake, watching Elizabeth set up the memorial for the dead.
