Battle Despair: Another Dead
The street rat couldn’t believe it. How stupid could these people be? They saw what happened last time. They saw the outcome of the trial…they knew the risks…
And yet there was another dead student.
He had traveled to the designated zone the body had been found in, 1C, in hopes of investigating to help out in the trial.
Last time he couldn’t bring himself to come and full out observe the body, the idea of having to investigate and look for clues around the dead body of someone he had cared about made his stomach twist and turn.
A dead body that was still laying in a puddle of blood, he might add.
Apparently monobear had decided to just let the bodies lay where they had died, a not so pleasant surprise for the street rat. A few days after the trial he had wandered to Kioko’s and Akumu’s now empty cabin, hoping to find one of Akumu’s old sweaters…just to have something to remember the repo man by. And instead of an empty cabin, he was greeted head on by the taller males dead body,
He had grabbed what he needed and raced out as fast as he could, making a mental note to avoid that area at all costs.
He shook that memory from his head, squatting down by the dead girl in front of him, eyes drinking in all the details.
Soaked to the bone… cuts and bruises all over….there must have been a struggle before she kicked the bucket…some stains on her clothing…maybe mud…
His ears perked up as he heard someone approach from behind him, not bothering to look and see who it was.
"Ya better be here ta investigate, otherwise move on and don’t waste my time…"
Takara was still a bit shaky from the initial shock of seeing the dead body, but she forced herself to go look at it more closely. After all, she had to investigate the body in order to figure out who did this.
When the boy who was also investigating the body started speaking, she almost squeaked in surprise.
"I-I'm sorry, I was just investigating, I didn't mean..." Her words trailed off into a mumble as she scooted around to the opposite side of the body. She wanted to cry. Another one of her classmates was dead, and all she could do was faint and sob.
Forcing herself to hold back the tears, she knelt down across from that boy and started looking the body over herself.
Body Discovery 2
Takara felt her heart drop into her stomach. Another murder...and so soon...? Who could have done this? And who could the victim be?
Slowly, she made her way to the location of the body, trying to draw this out as long as possible. She really didn't want to see the body, but it would be helpful when trying to find the murderer.
When Takara got to the area, she noticed a few people standing around. That must be where the body is...
She continued to force herself forward, only to find herself starting to pass out as she saw the body. She failed at trying to get a hold of herself and ended up almost falling over completely.
A BODY HAS BEEN DISCOVERED!

2 Down
Takara was in shock. To think that someone would have killed someone else...Well, it was kind of an accident, but they were still fighting, and that never led to anything good.
She made her way back to her cabin, but couldn't bring herself to enter. Instead, she sat down a little to the side of it and tried to take deep breaths. Now was not the time to panic. Panicking just leads to bad decisions and regrets. She knew that firsthand.
But when she heard someone walk by, she couldn't help but tense up and draw her knees to her chest in an attempt to make herself as small as possible.
Tohru briefly considered returning to his cabin for the night, but he stopped with his hand on the door. He had seen Ichiro retreat to there earlier, and was debating whether or not it would be a good idea to impose.
"…Better give him his space…"
Turning around, he started walking away from the cabin area. He wasn’t sure where to go… He just walked.
A...body...? Certainly, that didn't mean...?
Takara found herself walking towards the cabin Monobear had specified. She didn't really want to see the body, but it seemed like a necessary thing to do. She hesitated at the door. This was really something she didn't want to do.
Slowly, she entered the room.
"!!!"
After only a glance, Takara ended up running out of the room. She didn't know where she was going, she just had to get out of there.
However, her escape was cut short when she literally ran into someone else.
This Is All A Bad Dream {{Open Starter for Battle Despair!}}
Takara was confused at the other girl’s reactions, specifically her lack of verbal ones. This strange girl reacted with some facial expression and a lot of body language, but she had yet to say a word. Had something happened? Was she okay? Could she simply not talk?
It turned out to be the last of the theories Takara thought of, confirmed when she was able to see the girl motion to her neck and mouth “mute”.
"Oh," Takara practically exclaimed, "You can’t talk! Oh, sorry that probably sounded really rude. Well, I can help you if you need it!"
She amped up her smile so she was now absolutely beaming at the other girl. It was really great that she would be able to help someone, and so soon after meeting them. And the fact that this girl felt comfortable enough to approach Takara made it even better.
"Hmm….If only I had something to write with…Or on…" She rooted through the back, but found nothing. Except a hammer. That’s…odd…Perhaps that was the weapon she was told about? Oh well, she had more time to ponder it later, when she was done helping out this girl.
"Aha!" She shouted as she pulled out a map of the island, "If you happen to be looking for somewhere to go, I guess I can help you with that. Although, you probably have your own map."
Once the other Student had verified that she had recognized and accepted the signal Ccieri had made as the excuse to her silence, the Peddler raised her down-cast irises to meet that of her acquaintance’s. They were bright and gorgeous, nearly mesmerizing to the Trinket-Monger.
Though, the Young Lady’s next words were quick to pull her back into reality. Even if it was only to send the other Maiden a swift and slight shake of her head; hair flipping about while Ccieri could feel her cheeks heat up. Having someone offer assistance to the ‘Mute’ was new, just as it was unusual to have actually found someone who wasn’t troubled by the Clown Enthusiast’s ‘disability’ or overall personality.
This definitely had to be a dream.
Only now, it was steering itself into the right direction.
She was then greeted with a bright grin and a signal that this student would attempt to find her some method of communication. Oh, she’d be so glad if she’d had one..! It had seemed that her Digital Communicator had been left somewhere. Or…taken. ‘But, no one would do such a thing, no! She had more faith in others than that..!
After just over a minute of allowing the Dark-Haired Maiden to rummage through her package; to no avail, Ccieri had nodded in acceptance, having expected no other sense of assistance to stem from this. ‘But, was proved otherwise once her conversational partner had lifted up some electronic map. Which may have provided a great deal of help to the Peddler. If only she was aware of her cabin number or who she had been paired with.
Oh, this was just getting humiliating…
She made a small utterance of a noise as she pointed back to the room they were all once harbored inside of, then to her ear as she shook her head leisurely. Perhaps there was a way that she could let this Pretty Girl know of exactly how…ridiculous her situation was. Even if it made Ccieri feel embarrassed even thinking of such things.
Takara continued smiling, although she started feeling a bit awkward. It was hard communicating with someone when they couldn’t talk, especially since she relied so heavily on talking in all her other interactions. Her smile faltered a bit as she watched the other girl fiddle about. How was she going to help her if they couldn’t communicate?
The other girl looked like a deer caught in headlights, and Takara felt a pang of sympathy for her. She probably didn’t know anyone, and wouldn’t be able to meet them either, because she couldn’t talk. The ghost hunter felt her smile start to fall as she thought of that.
She looked at the area the girl pointed at on the map. Oh, that was the area they came from. She should be able to find that. But then the girl made a sign to point to her ear and shook her head. Did…that mean something…? Was she saying she was also deaf…? No, she seemed to be able to hear Takara, so that couldn’t be the case.
"I’m sorry, I don’t understand…" Takara furrowed her eyebrows in concentration, hoping to figure out what that gesture meant. "Do you want to go back to that room?"

This Is All A Bad Dream {{Open Starter for Battle Despair!}}
Now, Ccieri was pleased with herself in the action of retrieving someone’s attention; the matter at hand now being how she would communicate with this student she’d never conversed with before. Well, not that she could have, but..that was beside the point. Right now, she’d simply have to make due with what she could. Cluing the Young Lady in and hoping that she’d be able to understand her through motions and mouthing.
'But, that was when she'd registered that the Bright-Eyed Girl had been asking for her wellness and had etched a smile over her mouth. Almost as if she were worried for the Peddler and was attempting to ease the bewildered girl's mind. Of course, Ccieri was thankful for that, but, they didn't have the time right now. She had to know who her roommate was. What if they simply left her? Oh, she'd known that being left tot her own devices was what she'd deserved, but, that would make a huge marring into her thought train and would render her even more at a loss.
Oh, she couldn’t have that.
Who knew when they’d all leave?
So, Ccieri took to tilting her head to the side just the slightest bit; in an attempt to respond to the Girl’s inquiry that she was unaware of something. In need of response. Just after that small motion, the Trinket-Monger; with the smallest of coy smiles, took to placing her free hand’s finger over her neck, then shaking her head. With those movements, she mouthed the word “Mute.” in yet another silly attempt to get her point across. The point that she was in need of assistance, but, had no way of receiving it if she had been given no possible way to communicate with the other students.
Maybe this Young Lady wouldn’t mind helping Ccieri find a way to ‘speak’…

"D-do the you think the collars will be tracking us?? Maybe there are cameras in them?!"
"I’m not sure… But I don’t think we’d be happy knowing what they do to us either way…"
"I guess you're right...But I may feel a little better if they weren't so mysterious."
"Hi there! The name is Alix; I believe that you're my roomie~ a pleasure ta meet cha'~"
"Oh, hello there!"
"Yes, I think we’re roomates. I’m Takara."
"…..But wait….what if we don’t kill…? What the fuck’ll happen then..?"
"… Is that the reason for the collars on our necks?"
"D-do the you think the collars will be tracking us?? Maybe there are camera's in them?!"
(( a couple sprites and then the ones w the collar ))
This Is All A Bad Dream {{Open Starter for Battle Despair!}}
Waking up from some form of slumber while being take on a field trip nearly made the Peddler feel guilt, but, the second she’d cast her glance around the room; something didn’t feel…right. It was as if they’d been waiting for everyone to wake; which happened to occur at around the same time for all of the students. Strange. ‘But that’s when she’d taken notice of the soldiers lining the walls, keeping watch of the students, and some kind of plush doll. Wait- a talking plush doll? How cute! —A talking plush doll that gave them direction? Was this a game provided b the school?
Now, having been commanded to sit through the entire play-through that had explained their situation; caused Ccieri’s often present simper to fall into a pity-gathering grimace. After all, hearing that they were one of the worst classes and now, being put to killing one another..? No, no. This was almost like they’d taken some form of her fear of failure straight from the back of her mind. There’s no possible way the School could have executed this legally.
'But, her mental arguments and hopes were quickly silenced once she'd raised her right hand to the collar that was now wrapped around her throat. It felt hard, irremovable. Real. It was only when her name had been read off that she was lassoed back into reality, it taking a moment before she had managed to piece together; due to everyone's clamoring, that they had been given roommates. 'And she had missed that important announcement.
That was when the crowd was lead out of the large area they’d known upon waking and out into some island-like environment; each being handed a marked container on their way through the doors. ‘But, seeing as she had no ideas on who her partner was for finding their cabin; Ccieri felt all but at ease. Her eyes were becoming glossy with liquid, even; due to her unease with this situation. ‘But, she refused to cry-! No, that’d ruin her make-up.
So, she took to glancing over all of the faces of her class; finally landing on a single target and stepping towards them. ‘But, she couldn’t talk-! What was she doing? How would she ask them if she wanted to keep the role of a mute plausible for herself? Oh well. That was to worry for later. After all, now, she’d just needed to gather their attention. ‘And so, with the slightest of smiles raised over her petal-coloured lips, she took to raising a trembling finger, and pressing it into the closest student’s back while sounding a small hum; as if to get them to take the realization that she was actually attempting to gain their focus and that the touch was not an accidental occurrence.
”..?”
Takara had aimlessly followed the group, not sure whether all of this was really or not. It couldn't be real, it was too strange. It had to be a prank, or a strange dream. Right...?
She felt something being pushed into her arms, but she couldn't register what was happening. Instead, she stared blankly at the bag she was given, and the handle sticking out of it. What was that? Was it...what she was expected...to murder someone with...?
No, no. She's not going to kill anyone. Not even harm them in the slightest. No one's going to do anything to hurt anyone. At all. This isn't even real, so why should she be worrying about it?
Then she felt someone touching her back. She spun around, expecting it to be someone accidentally brushing against her. The hum that accompanied the touch suggested otherwise, however.
"Hello...?" Takara slowly greeted the other girl, who looked even more distraught than Takara felt. "Are...are you okay?"
She took a deep breath to calm the shakiness of her voice, then forced a smile. May as well be friendly, right? Then no one will have reason to harm her. (Not like this other girl seemed like she would harm anyone. She looked way too cute and innocent for violence.)
Fight Off the Island!
As you board the bus with your fellow students, you observe your surroundings. Something seemed off, yet you push it aside.
Roll is taken and you drive off.
About halfway through the ride, you felt yourself getting…eerily tired…
Maybe this was normal….
But as you look around, you see everyone else falling asleep.
You give in to drowsiness and you fall into a deep slumber
You don’t awaken until later that night.
Your fellow students all have collars on them.
Including yourself.
You were scared. Terrified. You wanted to scream until you found soldiers walking in.
A television came on with a famous talk show host.
She’s happily explaining the “Battle Royale” project.
You’re freaking out.
What’s going on?
A bear comes bouncing in, interrupting your thoughts. The bear…seemed like an old stuffed animal of yours as a kid…
"Upupupu~ Pay attention to the screen, bastards~" The bear chimed.
You can’t believe your ears.
'What's going on?' You think as you mess with the collar on your neck….wait.
Collar?
"BOOM~!" The lady on the television sang.
Monobear grins as he gives out cabin numbers.
"Everyone is given one cabin mate! Assigned curtesy of moi~" Monobear cleared his nonexistent throat.
"The roomings are~~!:
Minni , Ciel Marco , Naomi Lyrow , Lily Ccieri , Regian Kioko , Akumu Takara , Alix Syan , nobody, upupu~ Kassi , Nessy Ichiro , Tohru!
Now! Onto care packages~!(Each of you will be making ur own care package which MUCH include three bottles of water, a map of the island, and a weapon. some of u will need to make some dumb weapon up, like a spoon, others get somethin’ hella, it’s just how it goes.)”
Monobear sang.
You sit there in disbelief as he forces you out of the room.
What’s going on…?
You stare at the person named your roommate in slight fear, mumbling a phrase in your native tongue(since some arEN’T FROM JAPAN).
This was going to be fun….
