"N-n-n-no problem." He smiled, “W-what are friends fo-for?"
Rikuto nodded slowly. “I hope I don’t spoil my appetite." He sighed. “I haven’t had a real meal all day." Rikuto shrugged. “Still not hungry, yet, though. I mean, I’ve had snacks and such."
"You’re not sup-p-p-posed to sk-skip meals, Ri-Rikuto. It ma-makes you o-over eat the next time." Minoru replied, “One d-day isn’t going t-to ki-, it isn’t going to h-hurt you that much."
He waved a hand. “I’ll be fine, Minoru. You don’t have to worry about little old me. I’ll figure something out." He smiled. “I always do."
"I-I don’t? Th-that’s good." He said as he bit into the bar again. “I-I just want to be able to sa-save everyone, since I am t-the brains o-of the group, o-or so it appears…" Minoru sighed
"Mm," was all Rikuto replied, slightly peeves that he hadn't seen this side of Minoru before.
"I-I-I have bakers chocolate. I-it’s more bi-bitter… not many people like e-eating it… I l-love bitter things." Minoru smiled as he unwrapped his bar
"Hm. Well, to each his own." Rikuto nodded, taking another small bite. “Thank you, by the way."

She seemed nervous. Rikuto paused. "…Hon? Are you okay?" He scribbled down her name in one of the squares, giving her a date. He showed the pad of paper to her, letting her see her time to see the show in relation to the rest of the month. It was very organized and extremely neat. “This day ok for you, then?" He beamed.
"Y-Yeah I’m alright." she coughed halfheartedly. “Just not use to people being so nice to me. Giving gifts. All that junk"
She looked at the pad of paper, smiling, and gave him a small nod. “Yes that seems perfect. May I say you keep such clean record of everything. I’m jealous." Emi was everything but the opposite, though she wished she could maintain better order of her things.
He laughed. "Well, gosh! Now is a wonderful time to start, dear." He beamed.
"Excellent!" He underlined her name and put the paper back. "Thank you very much! As a producer, I have to keep my timetables straight and organized. Can't have ridiculous, messy records when you're managing an entire show! Actors, techies, the director, and all of the other people who work like the... The people who build the scenes, and the people who paint them and such? Oh, gosh, too many people to just scribble!" He laughed.

He was crying, eyes wide open. His lips had stopped moving - in fact, nothing else moved either. He stayed perfectly still, catatonic, watching the thing he loved most end. It was a happy ending, but it was an ending. He didn’t answer Karin.
Soon, the credits began to roll. After a long moment of silence, Rikuto finally spoke, his voice quiet and filled with dread.
"It’s all over."
"Rikut-"
She was cut off by his sudden quiet declaration, her mildly concerned expression shifting to one of total fear and worry. “R-Rikuto, come on, it’s just a show, let’s…let’s go do something else, anything else, let…let’s go eat some more of the food? You made? Rikuto-kun?"
Struggling against herself not to panic, Karin fluttered nervously around him, bearing a striking resemblance to a very large hummingbird. “Please, sweetheart, get up, it’s okay, it’s over but we can always watch it again, right?"
He seemed like he didn’t hear a word she said. He slowly popped the disc out and returned it to its case.
"Karin, I think it would be best if you left me be for a while."
Karin stared at him, alarmed. “I’m not going to leave you like this! Are you out of your mind?"
She stopped hovering in front of him, dropping to her feet on the ground, managing to only sink through it by a few inches. She touched his arm and tried to shake him, succeeding only in her touch fading through his skin.
He continued existing. Breathing. Staring at the now blank screen.
"Karin, you told me yourself you would. Please." He stood up, slowly, shaking a bit as he did so. His eyes remained in the same position.

She nuzzled her ghostly cheek against his, trying to smile just as she always would. “Alright, if that’s what you want…"
He nodded, feeling a bit off. She was very close to him. He supposed he appreciated it, but what if she fell through him? That would be very odd, indeed. He popped the DVD in and unplugged the headphones, allowing the speakers to play the sound.
They watched the movie in comfortable silence, Karin only really noticing the tension mounting when the play neared its climax. Rikuto was absolutely absorbed in what was happening on the screen, and she swore at a few parts she could see his lips moving along with the characters’. He cried at one song, his tears only drying in time for the finale.
Even Karin could recognize a finale when she saw one, with her limited knowledge of live theatre. Remembering what her dramatic dork of a friend had told her, she glanced over at him, worried. Would he really be alright…? Alarmed, she noticed tears beginning to fall.
"R-Rikuto-kun, hey, come on, we don’t have to watch this…"

Karin was silent for a moment, sitting on the floor next to his chair with her knees pulled up to her chest. “That’s kind of sad, Kuto-kun. But I get it, y’know? I never wanted anything to end, either, though not to the extent you do. I just never thought my life would be one of the things that would. Either way, though, it happened."
Gazing at the screen, she propped her chin in the space between her kneecaps and frowned. “If you want time alone, that’s fine. But are you sure you don’t want me here…?"
He took in a shaky breath and let it out just as shaky, nodding in response. It happened. He swallowed and continued on.
"You can stay for the show, gosh, of course, just… After. I’m going to need some time alone once it’s done. Okay?" He smiled at her reassuringly.

"Minoru?"
She stopped, disbelieving. “Minoru-kun is your roommate? I…ah, yes, I’ve…I’ve met him."
She tried to convince herself that her face wasn’t completely red, but the only thing this ended up accomplishing was her neck gaining a few red splotches as well. She groaned a little to herself, not wanting Rikuto to notice her discomfort.
"Y-yes, the A/V room! Let’s go. Quickly. Now. It’s dark in there, right?" She asked, squirming a bit.
"…Ah." Rikuto nodded, thinking her reaction a bit strange. Oh well. He nodded. “Fairly dark." He made his way to the A/V room and they were there somewhat quickly. He picked a seat and sat down, hesitating. He turned to Karin.
"You know, this is my favorite musical of all time, and I’ve never seen the ending? I… Hate endings. Endings of anything." He sighed. “I, um, might need some time alone once it’s done."

"I saw it o-once while in here, I kn-know exactly where it is." He smiled and reached into a cabinet and pulled some out. “H-here, I’m going to go get so-some chocolate for me." He walked to the other side of the kitchen and pulled out some baker’s chocolate.
Rikuto nodded. “Thank you." He took a small bite, wanting to savor it. “What kind do you have?" he asked.

\Rikuto stayed silent during the walk, just wanting chocolate.
The ginger was glad for the silence, this might be the first time since he’s gotten here that everything has been still. It was in no time at all that they arrived at the destination.
They arrived. Rikuto paused, then turned to Minoru. “Where do you think there’ll be any chocolate?" he asked. He wasn’t actually sure. He hadn’t spent much time in the cafeteria and even less in the kitchen.

Rikuto nodded, slowly standing with the help of Minoru. Chocolate… Would probably do wonders right now. Rikuto briefly wondered if chocolate liquor existed. What a wonderful thing that would be.
Minoru grabbed the dagger that he found in the black out and put it in his pocket for safety. After getting Rikuto out of the room and locking the door behind them, they set out for the cafeteria.

Karin drifted along behind him, still humming an unrecognizable tune. She paused only to chirp out a barrage of curious questions.
"Sure thing, Rikuto-kun. I’ve never seen your room, before. Who’s your roommate? Are they nice? Have I met them? I haven’t met a bunch of people here. You know, one of our classmates just woke up today! Isn’t that crazy?"
"Slow down, hon." Did being a ghost somehow give you more energy? “My room is nice, my roommate is Minoru, he’s very nice, I believe you might have, and yes, that is rather odd." He opened the door to his room once they reached it and Rikuto quickly grabbed the disc, turning back. “A/V room?" he asked as more of a rhetorical, sounding a bit more nervous. He began to walk.

She hummed, not having heard his single-word sentence. Perhaps it was for the best; after all, if she got on that subject, it’d make her even more upset than Rikuto himself had been not half an hour ago. She flitted around him like a very slow hummingbird.
"There! Now put some on a plate and take it to go. We have a musical to watch!"
"Sure, sure." He did so, and then, for the first time, smiled. There was a hint of nervousness behind it. “Shall we? I’ll need to make a quick stop at my room, first, to pick up the disc."

She stared at him, confused. “Your two favorite girls are…?"
Before she could think any farther on the subject, the mention of food immediately distracted her again. It was rather frightening, her single-minded focus on the task at hand. “Yes! Yes, take it out. Be careful, don’t burn yourself. Here, wear an oven mitt. They’re in this drawer." To demonstrate, she swooped over to a nearby cabinet and hovered in front of it expectantly, only moving when he drew near. “Make sure to wear both! And push your sleeves up, are you insane, you’re going to catch yourself on fire. Now, just grab the edge of the dish with one hand and put the other underneath it to lift it up! Easy as can be!"
"…Gone." He finished the sentence for her.
He followed her instructions to the tee, getting out the oven mitts and lifting his sleeves and everything. He put it down.
"Hm. Smells very good."
