Tale of Two Saitos (Saito, Hideaki)

"Oh…" Saito bit his lip and looked down at the snow on the floor. "I-It’s a habit…" He shrugged, sighing softly as he kicked at the snow on his feet.

Nodding, Saito gave the other a small smile. “Alright, Hideaki-san…!” He’d normally ask people to call him by his given name too, but in this particular case, he felt like it would be confusing, and probably awkward, to ask for that. So he’d settle for the use of his family name, as much as he didn’t like it.

"Hm… I-I guess most teenagers c-can’t really see another teenager as an authority figure…" He quietly said, shrugging. At the question, Saito looked slightly confused. Sometimes he still forgot what kind of school he was in. "Y-You mean, my talent…? I’m a SHSL Hypnotist…" He replied in the same quiet tone.

Hideaki shrugged letting out another long breath, "It's understandable, but you should give yourself more credit," he replied hoping that his words were somehow reassuring to him.

Saito's following statement however made the councilman grimace a bit at the thought. That would certainly make sense but shouldn't people who work under their peers have a better understanding of the people they're working with? Isn't that the key to proper team work? Hideaki thought he had a better grasp of his peers than that.

"I guess that makes sense but you would at least think they would heed what I have to say, no?" Hideaki continued, "I mean I know what I'm talking about. Leadership should be one of my best qualities."

Hideaki shook his head, "It's probably simpler than I think. I'm sorry for think aloud just now. You say you're a hypnotist right? How did you come about that title?"

"thanks man…so, tell me a tad about this you~!"

"Well, I'm a member of the student council. In fact it's my title. How about you?"

"yer names too hella for me to remember so i gotta shorten it ‘m ‘friad" he shrugged lightly "less ya’ got somethin’ else i can call ya"

Riko paid attention to his movements, before he sat down. It was rather unpredicted, but she didn’t mind at all. A shared eye-level was always welcomed in the school enviroment. She listened to his words and gave him an amused nod, she had barely strenght to open a fridge so it was hard to imagine her doing something like vandalisim.

"Who knows maybe I’m knitting this scarf to tie someone up and roll them off from a hill.. i-it’s just a joke though, please do not consider it seriously, do not try at home!"

She tried joking but corrected herself soon after and let the other speak. His talent sounded quite fascinating, something you could be proud of at least. Soon she put down the neckwear while averting her eyes. His words sound like he were talking to a kid.

"Yes, I do knit and it’s nice to hear that the older generation are still doing what they like, huh? I guess it’s a strange hobby..? Still, I’m thankful for your words."

Hideaki chuckled at the girl's joke. Obviously he didn't take her seriously. Riko seemed a bit too innocent for something so gruesome anyway, not that he had much power outside of reporting students anyway.

The councilman repositioned himself again, trying to find a proper place for his tall awkward body to be placed so that it wouldn't ache too badly.

"Ah, knitting isn't a strange hobby. It's creative, good for training your hands and it passes the time. There's no shame in it," he continued with a smile, "How long have you been knitting for?"
