SAME GOES FOR TUMBLR BTW
Reblog the posts you enjoy!!!
After the recent update shennanigans, and everyone saying reblogs work as they are, and everyone ONCE AGAIN reblogging posts that say "reblog art," here are the notes on my latest piece, which took 14+ hours for me to do.
3 of those reblogs are me.
Is it any wonder staff are trying to figure out a new way of doing things?
No one wants what they did, but I don't want to spend hours of my life drawing only to have just 7 people think my art is worth putting on their blog
always remember to do your part to protest against ICE!
What is up with like disease
Its not just art anymore fucking every single post is getting more likes than reblogs now.
REBLOG SHIT
DO IT I'M BEGGING
don't wanna put fandom stuff on your main for some reason? MAKE A SIDE BLOG AND REBLOG TO IT
don't want to have your blog be unattractive for followers and potential followers? i understand the anxiety, BUT TUMBLR IS FOR YOU. NOT FOR USER ENGAGEMENT
you don't need to add anything, there is no pressure and no shame in blank reblogging
scrolling and every fucking post has at least double the hearts than reblogs if not more.
likes are killing tumblr. please. i am begging. start reblogging. REBLOGS KEEPS TUMBLR ALIVE & GOING. USE IT!!
(this way you'll also be able to find posts a little bit better than scrolling through likes)
I work in physical media. The process is as follows:
Organize my idea(s).
Sketch an idea on paper/canvas--this can take 10-30 minutes depending on size and complexity.
Fill it with color & shading (+ final outline work, if applicable)--this can take hours to days.
Photograph or scan the image(s).
Color-adjust in GIMP (a few seconds each, unless enhancing in other ways--a minute or two, in that case.)
Size-and-format adjust in MSP (~30 seconds each.)
Upload to multiple platforms (about a minute each, adding tags & descriptions, etc.)
I prefer to do these in bulk sets, so multiply these steps by however many images I upload at once.
I make art because it's who I am. I upload art to engage with, enrich, and be enriched by online communities.
I honestly don't like the whole "Reblog if ______" thing
Like.
I get if you wanna reblog to support something or show your place in an important community
But the guilt tripping is a tad too much with some
"You better reblog if you're not this"
"You have to reblog to do that"
I'm sorry, but it doesn't really make me feel good
You're technically stressing people who come across that post
ESPECIALLY if it's something that accuses them of being some sort of bad or taboo, like saying that if they don't reblog something anti-pedophile then they are a pedophile, or saying if they don't reblog something supporting LGBT then they're homophobic/transphobic or smth
Am I not allowed to support from a distance?
I get reblogging is easy, it's just the press of a button and maybe a bit of typing if you add tags
But what if I just don't feel like reblogging, what if I simply don't wanna fill up my blog with these kinda posts? What then?
I guess I'm a pedophile now, I guess I'm homophobic/transphobic now?
No. I ain't. I just didn't reblog. I can and will support certain things even if I don't fucking reblog every shit on my feed. I don't need to constantly voice my support, I'll voice it when I want and when I need to.
I'm sorry but these posts just aren't for me.
