I know this fandom is nonexistent but I couldn't help myself. I wrote a Route 66 fic.
It's really sad that the fandom is so scarce. I loved this show a lot.

Was there a demand for this?
Oh boy. I don't wanna be the "I hate reboots" guy, but I do have something to say about this (a very, very unsolicited opinion). I have been binging the show again this month for the first time since covid, and his is my first time hearing about this. Apparently, FOX is still casting for it, gulp. I really REALLY want to be able to love the reboot, but I'm just too scared to get my hopes up. Highway to Heaven means a lot to me, to say the least. The storytelling in the episodes was consistently dynamic AND—dare I say it?— *woke* at times, and in a way that didn't come off as showy or pushy. They tackled police brutality, substance abuse, feeling the need to pass for white, disabilities (mental and physical), veterans who couldn't get healthcare, religion, and all in a way that felt extremely appropriate. I feel like the original show wasn't afraid to "go there," and while watching it recently, (before I knew about the reboot) I ironically came to the conclusion that those topics wouldn't be discussed as well and with as much bluntness if the show was made today... Well, I hope I'm wrong. Aside from that, and more importantly, I don't know if they are going to go to the trouble of finding actors who can capture the on screen chemistry that Landon and French had. Without going into detail, the two of them just fit together perfectly. I get the feeling the 2020s version might not be able to capture that blend of humor and drama that they did so effortlessly. Ah, I could go on, but I wont (at least for now).
But imagine they did find the perfect cast, and imagine the storytelling was just as lifelike as in the original, and imagine it came together to be something almost as enjoyable as it was before. Anyway I'd love to hear any thoughts on this. I don't mean to complain, I'm just a little worried. <33
The Time Tunnel (1966). This show was my everything in 2023.
it's finally that time of the year again for the clinically depressed newscaster describing february with disco elysium music
THE ODD RANT
Ok, why does it feel like I'm pioneering this ship and fandom. Am I just not looking in the right places? Am i just not using the correct search words or whatever? Am i just dumb? Don't answer the last one. But seriously, I think it's absolutely ridiculous that so many people don't know about it. The Odd Couple Fandom, If you're out there, PLEASE SAY SOMETHING—
These guys again
The fact that Felix has practically no reaction to being lifted off the ground used to puzzle me, but I guess this type of thing is normal for them...
The love in their eyes makes mine cry.
