She gave a sigh of relief. At the very least, she didn’t have to worry that another patient wasn’t eating properly. It was a mixed, almost complex feeling she’d have. On the one hand, she couldn’t forgive him for what he did to her friends and family. Even Akechi, as young as he was, was forced to kill in this man’s name. But now as he is, he seems more human, more … as much as she hate to admit it, pitiable.
She shook her head. Now was not the time to get complex feelings over this. She was here to do her job and to help in the hospital. Handing over his tray and setting up the table, she gave a genuine smile by focusing on the one fact that he would eat today. She would shuffle around the room, cleaning up and setting up for the next shift of nurses to come. She kept an eye on him, listening carefully to the silence for any mention of him needing help.
Of course, he was no weak man, but he wasn’t in any good shape either. Setsuka must remain vigilant in her job, no matter what kind of person they were. Everyone in the hospital is to be given equal and acceptable treatment. That was what her father and her uncle had taught her long ago.
“How is it? Does it taste alright?”
Pitiful. A word like that was one way to describe the former prime minister. He used people as if they were puppets, and they only listened to each and every one of his commands like dogs eating out of the hands of their master. If not for those Phantom Thieves would Japan be completely under his control, people still listening to him as if he were their Messiah! A dream of his was erased from his mind once his heart had been stolen.
Eyes that weakly looked at the blanket of his bed then looked toward Setsuka, watching as she set up the table, then handing him the tray. Hospital food wasn’t the luxury he’d once eaten before, but eating this was better than sitting inside a hospital waiting to starve to death. The light tray was slowly set onto the table, mumbling a “thank you” before slowly digging in to the food placed in front of him.
It tasted bland, but it was easier to eat than he’d originally thought. Unfortunately it didn’t quite show on his face, it was quite hard to show facial expressions these days. Slowly did he look toward the smaller girl, lips in a straight line.
‘It tastes okay.. I appreciate you giving me this.’
