August 19-21, 2017 Bohol
Bohol - famous for their Chocolate Hills, Tarsier and more~
July 8-9, 2017 Sirao Peak Another peak conquered. This trip was meant for us. It was raining that week and when Saturday came- it was sunny! 🌞 We rode a motorcyle from JY square to Sirao-the foot of the mountain. It's a 30 minute ride and another 30 minute hike to the peak. The trail was quite easy compared to Osmeña peak. It was just a bit steep and slippery because it rained the night before. Had to hold on to some rocks just to keep my balance. 😂 When we reached the peak, it was really foggy and very cold. And the view was really amazing. There's a wide spot to set up some tents. We rested for a while before setting ours up. It was quite spacious. We made sure that if we go camping overnight, it should fall during a full moon. The moon was very bright and mesmerizing. We were just staring at it for hours. 😍 When you stay in Cebu, make sure to visit Sirao! ✌🏻
June 18, 2017 Tinuy-An Falls - Bislig, Surigao del Sur
Tinuy-an falls is what they call the miniature version of the Niagara falls. And indeed it was. It's stunning.
We arrived at Tinuy-an by 8:00am in the morning. I've never been happy to be early at a certain place. We made sure that we were early so that we can catch the rainbow by the falls. (see photo of my Papa) It was amazing. We rode a 'balsa' to get near to the falls. The water is very cold and refreshing.
We hired a tour guide to get us to the second level of the falls- it has a total of three levels. It was quite an effort to climb to the second level, but they made a metal staircase so that it would be easier for the tourist to climb to the top. The view from the top is mesmerizing. I was speechless when we got there. Tinuy-an falls is estimated to be 60ft high. Stood on the edge- where it was safe- saw the beauty of nature.
On the second falls, there's spot there where you can sit and enjoy the water. It was like a blanket trying to wrap you up and give comfort.
The long drive to the place is worth it.

June 17, 2017 Cagwait White Beach, Surigao del Sur
After the adventure that we had in Britania, we headed to Cagwait for their fine white sand. I can't stress enough how fine their sand is. Blue skies and ocean. The thalassophile in me was jumping in joy.
There were a lot of resorts along side the beach. We randomly picked one and found a great spot. They have this big tree with a swing underneath it. You can sit back, relax and enjoy the view.
We arrived there at lunch time so we ordered food and had lunch by the beach. The great thing about Surigao is that they are abundant of sea food. I rarely get to eat sea food here in Cebu because they way too expensive. So when we were they, I spoiled myself with it. Just look at that smile with that prawn. :)
We did not stay long because we decided to go to Tinuy-An Falls in Bislig which was about 3 hours away from Cagwait.
But hey, if we stayed long there, my skin would cry due to sun burn. ;)
June 16, 2017 Friday - Britania Group of Islands, San Agustin, Surigao del Sur
Went for a roadtrip with my family for Mama's birthday. We decided to go to Britania since this was suggested by her friends. They said that the place is really nice.
How to get there:
From Butuan City
- Ride a bus bound for Tandag and ask the driver/conductor to drop you off at Britania junction in Salvation. The trip is about 3-4 hours.
For our trip, we used our own car and the trip was only about 2 hours and 30 minutes. You can also drop by the Tuna Republik in San Francisco, their SUTUKIL is great
Where to stay:
- O's Landing Resort - La Entrada
There are a lot of resorts that you can choose from. Almost all of them are really affordable.
We arrived late in the afternoon at O's Landing. We rested for a bit and then booked an island hopping tour. The boat rental rate is at P1,500 and they can get you to the 4 major islands. We went to Hagonoy Island and Buslon Island. We skipped and only passed by Naked Island because as per Mom, it was just like a sand bar. HAHA At Buslon Island, they have some activities that you can enjoy i.e Banana Boat and riding a Jetski. It took a while before we rode the Banana boat because we had to convince Mom that it's safe. It was my first time and it was really fun and exciting! You can also enjoy other activities at different resorts.
Britania is indeed a nice place! *two thumbs up*
June 10, 2017 - Osmeña Peak - Dalaguete, Cebu City How to get there: • Head to South Bus Terminal and ride a bus going to Oslob/Bato. The fare is P170. Ask the driver to drop you off at Mantalongon, or just mention Osmeña Peak. • Once you get to Mantalongon, you have to register your names and then the locals will offer you rides. P200 for a motorcyle- roundtrip • You’ll be dropped off at the foot of the mountain where you have to pay an environmental fee of P30. • You can hire a guide if it’s your first time to trek. The climb was really worth it. The sun was up but it was really cold when we reached the peak. If you want to camp, they have a spot where you can set up some tents. Make sure to bring lots of water and some snack. 😉
