Shutter put her hand on Jonny’s shoulder and looked at Lottie” Go give Vlad  his dinner” She told the girl. She was gonna explain what was goin gon to Jonyy when Lottie went to go do that.

Lottie let go and wandered off down to the barn to feed her pony.

As soon as the kid let go he fully turned to face Shutter, wrapping her tightly in a hug with an “Oh, have i missed you…” and kissed her neck lightly. After being relaxed by the hug he held her at a rough arms length, “now will you please tell me what the hell is going on and why was there a kid attached to my leg?” he asked still extremely confused

Shutter wrapped her arms around him and kissed his cheek,” She started coming around to see the horses then she kind of just adopted me as her mother” she explained”And it looks like she likes you as well”

Shutter had been in the barn when Jonny had called out to her. She set the bucket in her hands down and went inside the main building. Smiling when she saw Lottie hugging Jonny legs,” Hello love,” she said, walking up behind him

Lottie just waited, grinning like a fool as she looked up at them both. She was waiting for shutter to explain.

Jonny pivoted at the hips, as not to disturb the small child attached to his leg, to face shutter as best as he could giving her the ultimate WTF face as he could. “Hi?” he repeated his greeting to shutter hoping some explanation was going to follow shortly.

Home At  Last

Jonny took a moment to stretch after the long drive home from his trading outing for the past month. He had done extensive work in both adverting the inn as well as securing resources to ensure its continued existence. After his stretch he got out of the car and moasied tiredly to his and Shutter’s suite, glad to be home. He opened the door and called out to shutter, “Honey, I’m home!” in the most cleche way he could.

A shriek echoed through the hallway followed by a small fancily dressed child , who promptly attached herself to his leg before looking up with a smile, greeting him in english “hi”

Jonny’s tiredness went instantly away with the shriek, Only to be replaced by utter confusion at the child now attached to his leg. Unsure what to do he sat there blinking for a few seconds before looking down at her with wide confused eyes, cautiously replying “hi?” as if acknowledging her existence would only make things more confusing.

“But mama ….. I have to finish this paperwork. ..” the girl protested, desk covered in parchments and various plain paper as well. Her eyes kept slowly shutting but forced back open just as quickly.

“you can finish it in the morning sweetheart” Shutter picked her up,” You can barley keep your eyes open.”

She shook her head, mumbling about deadlines and how she has to get through all of this today.

Shutter just smiled softly and carried the little girl to her room.

Louis took Lottie’s hand to lead her outside, she followed eagerly as she whistled for her pony. Vlad came trotting out of his stall, meeting them halfway into the barn with a brush hanging out of his mouth to give to Lottie, who let go of Louis’ hand to start brushing Vlad.

SHutter watched the two leave. Glad that they listened to her.

Shutter had heard the commotion from the front and hurried. Stopping in the door when she saw what was happening,’ Louis! Put that damn sword away. I told you that there are no weapons here. This is a neutral zone. He is allowed here” she snapped, her southern accent getting thicker with each word.

Louis was very hesitant but after Lottie spoke up, he sheathed his sword. He still held her behind him protectively, glaring at their visitor. Lottie had her little arms wrapped around his middle and she was hiding behind him.

“Louis” Shutter stepped forward,” Take Lottie to the barn and see how Vlad is. Please. I’ll deal with our guest”

Lottie grinned, practically bouncing as she beamed with excitement, “I’ll get Vlad!” she squealed in excitement, running outside toward the stables happily. Her heels clicking on the hardwood until she was outside, where they kicked up little sand clouds instead. She whistled as she entered the stable and waited. A black pony emerged, bowing to her before letting her get him ready to go.

Shutter pulled up to Blaze’s shop for her monthly visit. A box full of horse shoes and a bag of cow and horse manure in the back of her truck. She always saved a bag for him for his garden as fertilizer. Her beeped the horn twice to let them know she was there.
