Guys I’m gonna rant about this guy who I’ll call star fruit for a second

Ok so star fruit is really sweet and really cute. We both like each other and we’re talking rn bc he wants to get to know me and people keep making everything awkward between us. They keep saying we’re dating when we aren’t. Besides that, I’m really scared to talk to him and I REALLY like him. Like today one of our mutual friends told him to sit next to me and he didn’t want to which I understand bc the people I sit with are the ones mainly making it awkward but he’s liked me since SECOND QUARTER OF LAST YEAR. Well, I haven’t asked him that directly but my friend said that. I really like him and he’s really cool and really sweet and I don’t wanna seem pushy or clingy or whatever… We walk to band together, he plays tenor sax (he’s moving to bari next year,) and I play flute. He’s Guatemalan and he likes cooking, he’s just really awesome and cool. He really likes the band Good Kid too and he’s going to a concert sometime this month.
