the official “translations” of the dr games actively erase many things in regards to characters while also purposely creating new traits for no real reason! :)

let’s see, what can I remember on the top of my head…

making kokichi say misogynistic things, mainly towards miu, which he did not say in the japanese version

making angie’s god name be the name of a real life god when it was just “god” in the japanese verison, which because they didn’t change some other lines like the ones implying Angie’s god is “fake” makes this really racist

referring to chihiro as a “tr*p” in some forms of media when there is literally no way this is an accurate translation because the japanese language does not have a word that could truly be translated to that disgusting fucking slur

just straight up erasing lines that implied mlm/wlw, with the most known about case being that line at the end of nagito’s free time supports, but other characters like kaito also suffered from this A LOT especially in v3 to the point where they basically removed 90% of what was most likely very intended gay coding from kaito’s character

i’m not saying that the original japanese versions don’t have their own problems or that everything shitty in the english versions is just the fault of the translators, but they still did a lot of shitty things for no reasons and I hate it. Just because they removed some bad lines like kaito’s ok/ma line does not mean they are truly any better

OK these r like a month old and I know I could’ve done a LOT better on the Momota one now but here we go.

Oumota week day one - Phantom Thief

I wanted to go a bit more unique than the route I assumed others to take, so here’s some stuff about the au: Thanks to @dykeenvy for helping me with it!

This au still has the classic Thief vs Detective that this au came from- Saihara of course being the detective. Where the twist comes in, though, is that the Thief doesn’t fall in love with the Detective, but his dumbass friend who works at your local mcdonalds.

Momota illegally tags along with Saihara when he’s doing investigation work, and Saihara is in a constant state of panic because he knows he’s gonna get into a shit ton of trouble if anyone finds out he shares as much info with Momota as he does, forget that he actually lets him go on investigations.

Ouma is pretty classy and prefers style over productivity. If he fails, so be it, as long as he looked cool doing it. He barely ever fails though, unless Momota does some dumb shit that stops him. But honestly, if Momota wasn’t around Saihara probably would have managed to arrest Ouma by now. Why does he keep Momota around again?

They have standoffs and monologue at each other for like half an hour and Saihara is just. Ignored in the background.

And you can BET Ouma has dropped into the mcdolands that Momota works at during the day. They both know who each other are. Momota can’t say anything because he shouldn’t know and he promised Saihara he’d be quiet about it. Ouma laughs at him in their next standoff.

That’s all I can remember abt it rn oops! And also ama sai would be a background ship bc I just Be Like That. Amami works at a flower shop and Saihara is a pining fool.
