thank you for feeding the tiny shunzen fan club on ao3 <3
Well, my personal goal is to turn Tachihara Shunzen-centric into a real tag. Someone should do it, he's such an interesting character. And I hope someone gets inspired and starts writing about him too🥺
you’ve been moving around a lot? FATIGUE!
you’ve not been moving around? FATIGUE!
you’ve been standing? FATIGUE!
you’ve been sitting? FATIGUE!
you are simply conscious? FATIGUE!
you’re sad? FATIGUE!
you’re apathetic? FATIGUE!
you’re happy? Headache…AND THEN FATIGUE!
i wanted to post a new fic for hayamis birthday bit the editing is driving me crazy
this weekend i passed by a store named "madre" and i had to pretend it didn't also mean smth else in spanish
– the shoot –
Tachiginnnn if it was razexdenji….
Also thought it would be fun to show his ability, yk make it more dramatic or something
i was looking through my former posts because i was bored and i ran into my shunzen alive au ideas post;
i kind of want to explore this au, like it actually seems interesting to me. the others on that post...
shunzen post war ends up going to college/university, and frequently talks with his family. then one day, michizou just disappears off the face of the earth. his parents say that he joined a gang so they kicked him out. shunzen is distraught and gets into his first ever argument with his parents. he leaves both university and his family home to find michizou but never ends up finding his brother before the hunting dogs do, so he joins the ada, which unfortunately doesn't do much to help him.
meanwhile michizou is with the hds being trained to be a spy, and he's not really allowed to contact shunzen(yet/he doesn't want to, he wants to live his own life outside of shunzen's shadow). then he joins the pm, and becomes a black lizard commander. he dyes his hair w/the hds because he looks like his brother and it makes him feel guilty. shunzen doesn't really recognise him, michizou has grown up and he's just so different that shunzen doesn't.
another factor to shunzen not recognizing michizou, is that to him, michizou is still a kid. he can't see his baby brother be the type of person michizou acts like, so his blocks that theory from his head. he doesn't want to believe that michizou turned out like that. michizou does go by tachihara it's just that shunzen is like 'lots of people have the last name tachihara and besides i doubt his first name is michizou.'
yosano and tachihara talk occasionally, he has a harder time getting her to go away when he's injured. yosano, despite being pm, still hates watching people die. she wants to save people still, so she does, even if some of them try to run. also i want to imagine her making tachihara or chuuya carry her things. elise acts the same as she did when yosano was a kid, and yosano typically spends her time with her.
i do like to think yosano knows tachihara is shunzen's brother, and that she's a bit softer with him because of that. he's aware that she knows, and he can talk to her about shunzen. she doesn't have the butterfly, she lost it back then, but tachihara has the dog tag. shunzen is in possession of the butterfly, and keeps it on him. it was sent to him after the war.
shunzen learns what happened with michizou and he's horrified. he feels like he failed as an older brother because he choose to follow his dreams instead of staying with michizou. he thought he'd be fine, michizou told him that he wanted him to go. michizou is angry with shunzen for leaving him(even if he said he was fine with it) and being better than him, but he has still missed him for so long.
shunzen never died, but sometimes michizou wishes he had. he has a constant living reminder of everything he's not. he still has his issues, maybe in a slightly lesser scale, but he has them. he just wasn't told he should've died, or maybe they told him he should go off and die in the streets because he's holding his big brother back from his greatness. That his existence is making Shunzen hesitant to go to college/university. That he's wrong for living because his big brother doesn't want to leave him.
ive been thinking about this for so long LMAO silly guys </3
had a sad thought;
what if shunzen died on tachihara's birthday?
hmmmm *takes notes*

「Haus Hyazinth」- Inheriting A Poet’s Dream
In 1939, Tachihara Michizō passed away at age 24 due to complications caused by tuberculosis. He left behind many things from poems to an unfinished project he had.
Other than the poems he wrote describing the urban life, Tachihara also dreamed of being an architect, he was enrolled to the Architecture Deparmtent of the University of Tokyo. After graduating, he would join the Ishimoto Architectural & Engineering Firm.
Tachihara himself viewed architecture as “Man’s scramble to find God’s attributes” as noted on his graduation thesis, mainly influenced by his views of “the natural” and the “the artificial” as so often found in his poems’s imagery of urban life.
“Open the window: you can see the clouds floating; birds flying; you can see the tiles on the roof. I swear these are the most amazing things.” - Tachihara Michizō, Letter to Ikuta Tsutomu (1935)
Tachihara’s architectural work was an inspiration to other architects such as Ōe Hiroshi, Tange Kenzō others. One project which Tachihara never got to finish was his Haus Hyazinth.

In a letter to his classmate, Tachihara told his friend about his grim outlook about his later years, dreaming about spending his life in a house by a swamp in Urawa, Saitama. At that time many of Tachihara’s friends lived in Urawa including the poet Jinbo Kōtarō, the painter Kokuta Suda and Satomi Akimasa. With this, Tachihara decided that he wanted to build the house around the Bessho-numa park located at Saitama.
On a different letter directed to Jinbo, Tachihara would decide to name the House as “Hyacinth House”, stylized as “Haus Hyazinth”. In total Tachihara made around 50 designs according to his letters but decided on the design shown in the picture above, however due to his tuberculosis getting worse, he was unable to continue the project.
Inheriting A Poet’s Dream
After the poet’s death, an association was set up to bring the poet’s dream house to life. The Hyacinth House Association was set up in order to build the Haus Hyazinth, the house would later be completed in the year 2004.

The house was about 16.5 square meters with simple furnishing including a bed and a table for writing. The dimensions and design of the house followed closely to the designs sketched up by Tachihara during this tenure in designing the house.
While Tachihara is a rather obscure poet in comparison to many other characters in Bungō Stray Dogs or any other Bungō series for that matter. I still find it heartwarming about those who still remember a writer’s works and helping them attain their dream. Even if that dream is something as simple as a house for Tachihara to spend his weekends at.

me when the world is ending
happy tachihara day!!💚🎂 but since i have nothing new to show, here's an old illustration i made of him for a pm zine
The inspiration of the work is the second prechorus of World Domination How-To by Neru, you should check it out.
Bonus: Here's an older sketch of Tachi in that AU. I always thought he fits Shuji's character very well
Tachihara's 4th birthday (ft. Shunzen)
Happy (late) birthday to Tachi boy!!🥳🥳🥳
Bringing this again bcs its Tachihara day!
took a break from SAT studying to draw them
it makes me so sad when i realize tachihara has never lived in a healthy & loving environment.
shunzen obviously loved him but that does negate the emotional abuse & (most likely) neglect his family put him through. shunzens death likely worsened it but i feel like his family saying all of that after his death means that this sentiment already exsisted.
we know he runs away & ended up in a gang, which is neither healthy or loving especially as he wouldve been a child living on the streets at that point.
then he is threatened & blackmailed into joining the hunting dogs where he gives away his bodily autonomy with the surguires & such. this forced codependency is not healthy. i have no doubt the hunting dogs care for eachother but im unsure if there was genuine love. bc its hard to determine if that care is from not wanting a useful tool/coworker being put out of commission or from love. personally i doubt its solely from love & there are ulterior motives.
then he infiltrates the port mafia, its literally the mafia its not healthy in the slightest. again, there is a form of care for one another but its not from a genuine healthy love. its also a place he cannot fully be himself, meaning no on ther truly knows him.
the only person who has loved tachihara in a healthy & genuine way was shunzen. the man that tachi cannot remember properly & yet he influences his entire life.
While I love shunzen very much i do disagree with the canon fact that he looks forward to meeting his parents, unless its a way to hide his difficult family situation from strangers.
that is why im writing an au where the tachihara siblings run away from their parents house to saitama (long story) and michizo lives a normal happy childhood
they both deserve a better life
P.S did you know that irl michizou tachihara lost his father at the age of 5 and forced to inherit the family business headship (this could be inaccurate bcs i cant read kanji but it was from the official haus hyazinth website)
