2018/1/12(金) 【平成30年 謹賀新年】

遅まきながら、新年明けましておめでとうございます。 これを書いていて気づいたんですが、もう平成は30年なんですね。 そしてその平成の元号も、もうカウントダウンに入っています。 昭和生まれだなんて言ったら、10代とかから見たらだいぶ昔の人のような感覚になっていくんでしょうね。

光陰矢の如し。

この年末年始、皆様いかがお過ごしでしたでしょうか。 僕はと言えば、お正月返上で、引っ越しをしておりました。 と言っても、歩いて数分の距離に移るだけ。 なので、引っ越し業者は使わず、数日かけて少しずつ荷物をせっせと何往復。 最後の大物、ベッドと作業机を残して、ほぼ終わったところです。

しかしあれだけ引っ越したかったのに、いざ部屋がスッカスカになっていくと、なんだかさみしい気持ちに。 まあ15年も住めば、色々と思い入れがあるということでしょうかね。

さて、今年も歌ってまいりたいと思います。 そういえば年末に、数年ぶりに紅白歌合戦をガッツリ見ました。 長寿番組が軒並み終わっていく中、紅白はずっと残っていってほしいな。 そんなことを思いました。

This rare 1950s typewriter hammers out musical notations, not letters and numbers

Here’s something you don’t see every day: a typewriter that hammers out musical notations. Made for use with music staff paper, the Keaton Music Typewriter was first patented in 1936 by San Francisco’s Robert H. Keaton for use by composers, arrangers, teachers and students.

The original model had just 13 keys but Keaton’s second patent for this “music typing machine” was granted in 1953 and included 33 keys.

If you’ve got a spare $12K, you can pick one of these little beauties up from Etsy shop WorkingTypewriters (back in the 1950s they sold for $225).

2017/12/14(木) 【2017年もありがとうございました】

にわかに慌ただしくなってきた12月。 今年の総括などを書いてみようと思います。 年末はあっという間に過ぎちゃうだろうから。

まずは皆様、今年も大変お世話になりました。 どんな一年をお過ごしになられたでしょうか。

2017年、僕はと言えば、夏ぐらいから、

「ライブを詰め込めるだけ詰め込んでみよう」

という事を思い立ち、数えてみたところ、6月～12月の間に40本近くライブをやらせていただいたみたいです。 月に平均6～7本ぐらい。

慣れた方であれば「べつに」って感じなのかもですが、僕にとっては未知のハイペースでした。 加えて、密かにストリートにも出没したりして。

たくさんの方々のご助力はもちろん、出会いがご縁を呼んで、そこでまた出会って…。 おかげさまで楽しく忙しくさせていただきました。

ライブを観に来ていただいた方々、少しでも関わってくださった方々に、深くお礼を申し上げたく思います。 本当に、ありがとうございます。

思えば当初、レパートリーが数曲しかない状態からのスタート(今もあんまり変わらないけど)。 僕は、とりわけモノ創りにおいては、ああでもない、こうでもないと、いつまでもいじくっちゃうタイプ。 そのうえ尻に火がつかないとやらないし、これで完成、と決められない。 要するに、仕事が遅い。いや、ほんと困ったものです。

そんな自分を重々承知なので、先にライブ予定をバンバン入れてしまえば、もう、やらざるを得ない。 わざと追い込んでみました。

結果は、そんな自分に「ざまあみろ！」と言いたい笑 そんな2017年でした。

ライブを経て、新たに見えてきた事などがあるので、年明けしばらくはすこーしライブを抑えつつ、次のステップの準備をしたいなと思っています。 忙しい中、時間を割いて、お金を払って来てくださる方々に、120%で応えたい。 そんな思いでおります。

さて、年内はあと数本、ライブが残っております。 「周哉って、なに？歌うたってんの？ピアノなんて、やってたっけ？」 そうお思いの、そこの貴方。 百聞は一見に如かず、一度観に来てやってください。 なんだか一生懸命な40歳が、そこにおりますので。

それから、来年の目標、今思いついた。

  「表裏のない男になろう」

  シャツを裏返しに着てても気づかないほどの！

  頑張ろう。
