AU where Muse A grew up in an abusive home. When their ‘carer’ is jailed on child abuse charges Muse A is put into foster care. This is where Muse B decides they want children one day and prepares themself by fostering kids. The first charge Muse B gets is Muse A, and over time Muse A and Muse B form a close bond until Muse B finally decides to adopt Muse A.
"I suppose it is our only option…" Hans took a minute of positioning himself to make sure he was in the right spot. "If you are going to jump, now would be as good a time as ever!"
“Okay…” She took one more look down to the ground. Goodness, it was a long way down. “Alright, I’m jumping. Don’t drop me.” She too a deep breath before taking the leap, giving a little yelp on the way down.
❅ Well that had been unexpected. The feel of the snow crashing against the back of his head ‘cause the spirit’s icy blue eyes to widen hugely. Until that moment Jack had been under the impression he had gone completely unnoticed by the inhabitants of the chilly town, though it seemed that was not the case. Nonetheless, a quite voice in the back of his mind whispered that the snowball could not possibly have been meant for him.
For now, choosing to ignore the nagging voice, Jack turned towards the direction in which the snowball had been thrown, eyes narrowing until he caught sight of the top of the girl’s head, peeking out from her hiding place. After just a single moment, a smirk wormed its way onto the spirit’s lips as he spoke. ❅
“Sure you want to challenge me, Kiddo~?”
Anya did her best not to laugh in her hiding spot, but she couldn’t help but let out a few giggles.
Once the boy called out to her, though, she couldn’t help but peek out before standing up so she was completely visible.”
“‘Course I do! I’ve never been beaten in a snowball fight. Ever.” Although that was probably because she’d only played against snowmen that she’d built.

Snow was pretty common around the orphanage, to say the least, which is why the majority of the kids didn't go out to play. It was much too cold for them, anyways.
Not for Anya, though. No. The little girl spent hours playing in the snow. Although, she found that snowmen made terrible snowball fight partners. That's why, when she saw the white haired boy walking down the path, she didn't hesitate to prepare a snowball. Ducking down until she was out of sight, she waited for the best moment to strike, and sent her snowball flying right at him.
"Gotcha!"

She hadn't meant to spy, even though watching strangers could often be very entertaining, but when the child had come across a woman practicing martial arts, she couldn't help but stare.
When she had finished, the small girl popped up from her hiding spot. She couldn't stop herself from running over.
"How did you do that? It was amazing!"
"Well, yes, it is silly, but his temper is not. I would rather you not be on the receiving end of that. Do you need any help down, young lady? Perhaps I could catch you or… well, I am not really sure how to do this at all."
"I'm sure I can climb down...maybe not. Was it this high up when I was climbing?
...D'you think you could catch me?"

Walking back in with two trays with their food Jim laughed and put the stuff down. “So tell me about your new adventures, mind you you left before you even got the chance to play ‘The Kid’.” He laughed.
As soon as Anya saw Jim come back in with food, she jumped up, the two dogs following at her feet. "I didn't mean to leave," She said with a shrug. "And I can't tell you where I was, but I met a princess and a girl who told the best stories and-," She paused, taking a bite of her sandwich. "And this is really good!"
"Young lady… what are you doing in that tree?!”

Sophie gave a quick sigh of relief as she faced her second cousin. She was there for her cousin’s wedding and the birth for Olga and Tatiana but could not be there for the name day for the rest of the Romanov brood.
Anastasia, Nicholas had written to her, was known to be a trickster. Oh how she had heard numerous stories of the infamous Russian devil-child that hated her lessons and could give a tongue-lashing that made her seniors cringe from it’s own burn.
Oh dear, oh dear.
The blonde woman smiled, “I am your grandmother’s cousin Sophie. We are to spend the day together.”
Be nice, be nice, she reminded herself. She couldn’t remember a time where she met a relative without playing some sort of joke or trick or something.
But, out of fear that she’d get sent home if she got in trouble, she wouldn’t this time.
She wouldn’t.
"It’s nice to meet you," Anastasia answered, trying to act how she’d seen Tatiana act. Everyone always said she was polite. She twiddled her fingers under the table for a moment, thinking of something polite to say. "I’m…looking forward to it."
Perfect.
"Come on in, I can get some made really quick." He chuckled as they walked back into his place. Of course she was tackled by Sam and Zeus who were more than happy to see her again. Jim walked into the kitchen going to make the sandwiches.
Anya giggled as the dogs came at her, laughing loudly as thy started to lock her face. “Hey!” She yelled with a grin, making her way out from under them. “I missed you guys, too!”
