"What are you making?"

“Black ice isn't the only thing I'm falling for.” ♥
❝ Falling can be dangerous you know. I don't want you to hurt yourself. ❞
"Who needs a prince when you can have the king of winter?" ;D
❝ Where's the crown, your majesty? ❞

She walked along, dragging her wagon of books along behind her. It was cold out, and snow had been predicted, so she wore several layers under her coat. She walked slowly, but paused when she saw a boy standing a few blocks from the library. He wore capris and a sweatshirt, but no shoes. "Hey," She called, walking over, "Aren't you cold?"

"S'cuse me?”
She spoke in a quiet voice, obviously a bit upset with herself for having to ask for help.
"Have you seen a dog around here? He’s about…" She put her hands about a Toto-width apart. "This big. And he’s got a black collar on.”
"Says Toto on it.”

Such a length of time had passed that Jack had begun to feel a deep guilt setting in right at his core. Sure, he had a duty to uphold, bringing winter to the southern hemisphere. But, to leave Elsa to herself for so long, it simply didn’t feel right. Promises to woo and court her as a proper gentleman would, so little of his claims seemed to have held up by that point. After leaving his Queen alone for so long, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to return to find the woman with a prince more capable than he.
However, much to Jack’s surprise, that was not the case as he discovered upon his return. Even so, to find Elsa in as much a state of isolation as he had left her in, perhaps that was even worse. Worrying his lip in guilt, the winter sprite hung back for a moment, his presence having gone unnoticed by the Snow Queen as he stood without making a sound.
Though, before long it occurred to him, the longer he stood in shame, the longer Elsa would be forced to suffer the pain of loneliness. A pain it seemed both knew all too well. Shifting through the air as not to make a sound, once he was close enough Jack peered around the blonde to lay eyes upon her face rather than her back. Then, with a gentle touch, he reached out to brush a lock of hair from her face, his voice quiet and laced with guilt as he spoke, features lacking his usual smile. “Miss me…?”
Considering the fact that she had just found her freedom after being asleep for the better part of two hundred years, it probably had been mildly surprising for Jack that Elsa had stayed in the castle in seclusion. But the fact also remained that she didn't quite know what to do in the current time and her castle was just far more appealing when the outside world was full of motor cars that roared and machines that beeped and chirped and people that walked straight through you. Elsa had almost settled on the idea that Jack wasn't going to return, and she had found traces of her family left in what had once been Arendelle but had left them be. The strawberry blonde, freckled descendants of Anna and Kristoff had been a pleasant surprise and she was glad to hear that her sister had lived out her life happily - if more lonely with Elsa's disappearance. There were rumours afoot about where she herself had gone, but it wasn't like she could step out and quell them. The few people who remembered her stories had caught glimpses of her in the palace, but she was too hidden for anyone to get near enough to her to have any conversations. But she'd taken books - more books than she could have imagined. She'd stolen into her old room in the museum-like castle in the dark of the night and collected books after books and had just enjoyed the feeling of being able to read once again - because sleep continued to elude her, nightmares still lingered behind her eyes. She fussed over her desk and turned with papers gathered into her hands when she felt her hair brushed away from her face and looked up through thick lashes to the spirit of winter in front of her. The instant response was sarcastic and frustrated, that of course she hadn't missed him and that he'd left her alone and that was just fine but his face stopped her. He didn't seem pleased with himself or cheeky and she nodded in confirmation. "I was starting to wonder if you'd just decided to chase the winter forever, Jack." Elsa reached her hand up to cover his, forcing herself to take a breath and smile somewhat sadly. "Of course I missed you. Are you back for a while, then?"

"Huh?" What was this? A snowflake, but it was mid-summer. How was it possibly snowing at this time of the year? Maggie's bewilderment soon shifted from the snow to the boy that she saw above. Was he the cause of the sudden weather change. "Hello up there!" Might as well get his attention.
