Super stressed at work so started working on a color wheel challenge piece I wanted to do for some time. Started with video game characters (ex. LoZ, HK, DEEMO, etc.) but drawing so many people ended up being stressful so I went with a more comfortable Pokemon version LOL.

May or may not continue rendering this. Most of them are flats and highlights :)

Freehand with reference (Ref: Serebii & Bulbapedia) went by eye with the color pallet because some Pokédex color classifications are stupid (lots of orange Pokémon classified as red). No reference/fill tool for the color pallet was my own personal challenge and I’m really proud how well a lot of these turned out.

Mix of some of my favs throughout all the games (including spin-offs) because of them being on my team/me liking them because they’re cute/quirky, etc. Some of my favs had too much detail so I didn’t include them tho 😅 also a couple add ins by my IRL friend’s request.

Some of my personal favorites are the Chimecho (Mystery Dungeon: Sky), Cutiefly (S&M/Snap), the Dragonair/Dratinis (love the design), and the sleeping trio on the Amaura (fav fossil design)

Working on my papers to hopefully graduate within this next school year… the most fun right now is making figures to explain what I do to people so they can still understand the techniques and do them when I’m gone lol

Good note - I finally remembered where I put my Wacom Tablet and finally downloaded the driver on my new computer!!! Still busy tho, so I might not upload anything still…..

Also, why, past me, did you sign everything with your real name instead of your online users LOL I have to cover the name and resign the ones I want to post….

Last random thought: Thought about making a comic series before with work rants but they’re a bit too close to home and worry me that someone on the Internet might figure out who I am IRL. Prob not probable but still makes my anxious heart worry.

If anyone actually reads these, I’m fine - I’m just ranting right now, and my stress is normal. :P

Uhhh…. So between being busy (I CALLED IT YEARS AGO LOL), forgetting my password, trying to figure how to adult on my own, qualifying exams, experiments that made me work from like odd hours, then having to work regular 9am~6pm hours, having to replace my laptop after fan failures crashed my computer somehow (thankfully all my data was backed up), mental and physical heath issues (thankfully nothing life threatening) , somehow getting sick for a solid 3-4 months and having to work through pretty much all but 2 days of it 🥲, and forgetting my password several more times throughout the whole endeavor (lol) amongst other things, I’m just here to post I’m alive! and sorta here!

I also got side tracked with Rune Factory 4 Special, Rune Factory 5, LoZ: BotW, AoC, and TotK (I fell in love with the series🥰), Hollow Knight, and others. Realize now I could’ve posted about it now, but uh…. Hindsight??

AND SO MANY GOOD ANIME/MANGA CAME OUUUUT!!! Haikyuu!! To the Top, Kimetsu no Yaiba/Demon Slayer, Boku no Hero Academia, Violet Evergarden, (and I finally watched Kono Oto Tomare), TenSura, Given (!!) and sooo many others!

I also have an AO3 addiction now…. I liked it before, but I found out I have it bad during the Internet withdrawal I went through during the domain attack back like a couple weeks ago (lol).

This is what I shall refer to as... my “Return to Anime.” lol ~1.5h digital sketch. Tried playing around with more effects, but had to stop cause my hand started getting shaky. Dang it illness. Not too bad though, considering how little I’ve drawn over the past 1~1.5 years.

So somehow I managed to get sick in such a way that I feel like I have bronchitis again. :/ BUT! While I was browsing the net, I just realized how many anime/manga I haven't been able to watch in the past year cause of school/life/work/family and I'm equal parts excited and terrified of them.

Excited because OMG YES THERE'S SO MUCH!!! YAY

Terrified because if I have the chance to do so I. Will. Binge. Watch/Read. And I have a huge project at work that needs to be done before I leave for my program. And I'm heading into a PhD soon and I'm going to be SOOOOO busy for the next 5(+) years. My brain is practically begging me to remember to sleep already. LOL I'll try brain. No promises tho.

Note about life and future posts

Hey anyone who winds up seeing my account/this post for some reason.... *inserts heavy breathing*

Sorry in advance for this kinda long, kinda rant-y post, btw.

So it's been a very long time since I posted anything. I'm not dead, but I'm dealing with personal stuff, work and other irl duties. Off to a PhD program soon, so probably not going to get to actually use tumblr. It's a pretty intensive program I'm going to, especially because I'm getting funded(!!)

Regarding life... long story short, graduated from undergrad, got a job, mentor died, grandma died, dad went to the ER twice, computer crashed and had to get fixed 3 times (actually killed the hard drive on the final time--apparently a PC game I had was crashing the hard drive??), applied to PhDs, got accepted to one, and right now, depression/anxiety is kicking me the hardest it has in like 7 years. During this, I had like 7 months where I actually had no time to draw other than little doodles or for work related stuff, so sorry I never did get back to Inktober and all that stuff. :/

So depression is acting up, so is my anxiety and so is the occasional insomnia. I'll be okay though.

Anyway!!! I probably won't post for a while, or if I do it's going to be pretty sporadic. I'm getting into more digital art though, so you might see that. 🤔

Current focus: BnHA (because freaking All Might and Izuku coming in with the freaking most adorable expressions) and other random anime, but I've been reading fanfics more than anything else, lol. The FEELS with BnHA. TodoDeku feels.... DADMIGHT and DADZAWA!!!!!! [But with my limited time, I have such a hard time drawing them!! Why can't you just be an egg like Saitama?! (lol) *gets shot by Genos* (´༎ຶོρ༎ຶོ`) ]

But yeah, we'll see what happens.

About Inktober... Sorry

Hello, 

So I’ve been super sick recently and with school work, fatigue, deep dry coughs, and the neighbors generally wanting to BBQ the days when my lungs are feeling the worst, I haven’t been able to update any of the art I’ve done. Luckily, the doctor said it wasn’t pneumonia, but I’m still feeling pretty sick. Whenever I get better (and finish all the school work I’ve missed because I’ve been sick and missing class) I’ll post all the inktober stuff at once. Or if I get the sudden free time to do so. Not looking forward to playing catch up once I can return to classes. Then finding a job and applications deadlines are coming up, so right now I’m super stressed. Family matters suck. My emotional state sucks. My body sucks. School is going to suck. But I just need to take it one step at a time and hopefully I’ll end up somewhere okay. Everything is just hitting me over the head at once right now.... [end of rant]

I’ll probably be off for around a week to catch up and recover. My tactic, as always, is to just keep going one step at a time. Keep healthy and well everyone!

AAAAAGH SORRY!!! Inktober Day 7 "Rock" Ran out of time because club stuff and cause I'm sick and cause of homework from my professor who had finally decided to get his shit together. WIP assignment. WIP drawing. I guess the assignment takes priority. Sonic finally moved up from cutting up trees to cutting up rocks. Thanks to Ino, his Sai-phobia has been addressed, so it's now time to address Saitama's strength. How do you cut into a body that's as strong as or stronger than a rock? Cut through a rock. Then something stronger. Rock first. Genos' cut up pic floating right above. (See: hair) Sonic did not appreciate the sudden haircut, Genos.

"Lost!" Inktober day 7 (Woot! A week in a row!!) Concept: Caped Baldy's just doing his hero work when he finds a lost (5 yo?) Mobbu who was looking for his baby brother and got lost instead. ✨ Tools: Micron Pens (0.20, 0.25 and 1.0) No shading this time. I needed a break :P

Yuri on Ice Impression

Hey all, so just felt like posting this since I didn’t get to with any of the other seasonal anime premiers. So yesterday, Yuri on Ice began being streamed by a whole bunch of different sites and BOY was I excited! The artwork is amazing. The movement is super fluid and great! VERY nice, and very little to no choppiness in the animation. Good thing, since it is about figure skating. 

Kinda sad that there wasn’t more fan-service to us though. I’m pretty sure a lot of first impressions from the previews was that the anime was going to be like a figure skating version of Free or something. Like it would be more... BL-ish. or have more fangirl “kyaaaaa” moments. *shrugs*. HOOO That ending scene though, LOL *fans self*

BEWARE OF SPOILERS

I’m not a professional at critiquing, so I’m just going to give my impressions. You can feel free to feel differently, I don’t really care. I have only seen this ep once, don’t have any background on it, very little background on figure skating in general, so please don’t argue with me. This is my own personal opinion.

Little chubby Yuri made me smile during the first episode, but I’m a little sad that he hadn’t won my heart as I thought he would in the previews. Still lots of eps left though, so no rush, anime. His cries were a little sad and poor poodle Vi-chan. Honestly, he had quite a bit of bad luck, but I don’t know if I want to feel empathy for the failed performance because of that luck, or if I want to scold the guy. I guess since he practiced so much afterward, I can’t be too mad at him though. Lovely facial expressions <3

Viktor was so funny. Flashy, with just a hint of flamboyancy. Those winks. So. Many. Winks. LOL He gave me this oblivious insensitive vibe though, but I honestly don’t know what to expect from his character yet, except for skating passion.

Yu-chan and her family were okay. Little animosity on my part by the way they treated Yuri, but I guess that was pretty normal, considering 1) kids are mean and don’t really get the full extent of their actions, and 2) since Yuri didn’t confess, it’s not like Yu-chan knew his feelings, and if the big guy makes her happy, I guess that’s all I can ask for. It’s okay to me though, more Viktor/Yuri that way.

Russian Yuri was as punk as I anticipated. Little shit right now. The talented figure skater that refuses to share the stage with another Yuri, and his super talent is coached by none other than the other Yuri’s love inspiration, Viktor. Let’s see how his character develops from here. I’m excited to see his reaction to Viktor wanting to coach chubby Japanese Yuri in ep2.

On the credits/opening, I’m a little disappointed they didn’t add on more. I feel like there was a lot of potential they had with the drawing vs anime style, and a lot more dynamic movement they could have incorporated, but it was nice to listen to. Not overly complicated, but very repetitive in a sense, so I’m not sure what they were trying to portray.

Overall feeling: it’s too early to tell for sure, but I’m definitely looking forward to the next episode.

Inktober Day 6. "hidden" What you may see not be reality. What if there's a something else? I used to be like you.... But now I can SEE. "Can you see this little guy here? You can't can you." Super OOC Zenko. Semi-Halloween themed. Wanted to try a monochromatic coloring but ended up making her skin too dark... (I need more practice). Sooooo...Fire Demon!Zenko here! Ashen skin with a long muffler to mimic smoke. Fuzzy's just happy because he's warm.

Inktober Day 5 with the prompt "Sad"

Tools used: Pilot 0.38mm black pen, Tombow brush pens (N65 and N15). 

So I’m still learning how to properly shade with the pens, and only getting back into drawing recently, so please excuse the semi-messiness of this. Hope you like it as much as I’m proud of it!! (lol) Decided to do Genos’s old design because I wanted that lovely black neck to test my pen out on. xD

If you keep reading, I’ve included a little fic for it as well.

When Genos came to again, he was certain all that would greet him was the metalic gray of Dr. Kuseno’s laboratory and the sound of his whirring fans as his systems came back online. 

He had once again underestimated his enemy and had paid for it with his body. The skin like material Dr. Kuseno installed for him had shredded into a state of disrepair. His arms and legs torn off. If it wasn’t for sensei saving him at the last moment, he would have been destroyed. Brain cut off from his core. He would have powered off, and died from a lack of oxygen to his brain. The last thing he had registered was Saitama-sensei running toward him after punching the monster into oblivion.

Genos wondered what kind of face sensei would make at him this time. He had been pretty demolished before the bald man had reached him. Last time he came back after being this destroyed, the other man had been very worried. He even made Genos promise to treasure his body more, giving him a rare lecture that was over 20 words.

As much as he shouldn’t be, Genos was really happy as Saitama had lectured him. After the meteor had threatened to crash into city Z, he had vowed to follow his sensei no matter where he went. He would follow the man to the ends of the Earth need it be, so long as the man still wanted him.

He was being taught by the strongest, no, the greatest man on Earth. He lived with the greatest man on Earth. It wasn’t even strength anymore. The man was his anchor, his hope, and the one he admired the most. Loved, if he was honest with himself.

A small part of Genos wished the man would reciprocate these feelings, but it felt like an impossible task. One, Saitama was entirely straight based on his observations. Secondly, he, Genos, was broken. A cyborg. More robot than human, and no matter how much synthetic skin he was given, no matter how realistic his functions were, that was a fact that couldn’t be changed.

Opening his eyes, Genos started a quick scan of the room, revealing something unexpected. Instead of merely computers and machinery, Genos saw his sensei. He saw the light shine from his sensei’s bald head reflecting the light in the laboratory. He saw the man, bare chested and resting on his previously inactivated core and processors. Instead of merely hearing fans virring in the background, there were the sounds of tiny snores and the sound of his sensei’s steady breathing.

Once the sight fully registered, Genos gasped lightly and jerked up slightly in surprise. The movement was just enough to wake Saitama. 

Saitama blinked blearily at first, but straightening, as if remembering why he was there in the first place. A scowl appeared on the man’s face, and for a moment, Genos was worried he’d be scolded again by the man he admired the most.

“You idiot!” Saitama shouted. Genos flinched back a little, guilt flooding his system. He had made his sensei angry.

“You almost-Kuseno said if I hadn’t-If you had-!” For once, sensei wasn’t able to form his words. Flailing his arms as if it would help get his thoughts out, sensei made a frustrated noise before reaching out to Genos, cupping his cheek. 

“You almost died.” Saitama said, a million times more quietly and more gently than before. His fingers trailed across his face, stilling when he reached Genos’ lips, and before Genos realized it, he was sitting up, wires connecting him to the main power ports dragging up along with him.

“Sensei?” Genos asked uncertainly.

Saitama merely gazed at Genos longer, his eyes softening, and glistening with unshed tears. 

“I-” Saitama paused, before taking a shuddering breath. He looked Genos straight in the eyes and leaned forward ever so slightly.

“It hurts seeing you like this. Hurt. Injured.” A breath. “Kuseno said you were pretty banged up. Your core was just barely hanging on. If I hadn’t- If you had died...” 

“I don’t know what I’d do.” Saitama leaned in even closer, and closed his eyes. He seemed to debate something internally before finally turning his attention back to Genos. The hand that had never left his face now stroked the synthetic skin near his lips and cheeks.

“I love you.” Saitama finally said.

It felt like the world stopped. As if time had stood still. Then, comprehension dawned. Steam filled the room from Genos’ vents, and oil tears spilled down the cyborg’s face. 

“I love you too, sensei.”

Inktober Day 4. No pencil pen sketch! So apparently there's a list of "official Inktober prompts" whoops. Will I follow all of them from now on? Probably not. LOL Anyway, here's day 4 "hunger" prompt. Panda papa is hungry after a long day of collecting bamboo and decides to munch a bit while his daughter tells him all about her day at adorable school. Tried out my new Tombow monochrome pens (N65 and N15) I have other colors but those were the only ones out, and I'm lazy. :3 OMG I should do panda Sai and Genos later! ✨✨✨😆✨✨✨
