I saw you mention "cape feudalism" in one of your posts, i think it was about fiction based on real superheroes. How much of a real movement is that? I know I've heard people say superheroes would do a better job running things than the government. I've also seen some small studies suggesting that cities with prominent superheroes get federal relief from disasters slower than others

"Cape Feudalism" isn't really the official term. As far as political science goes the idea of it is so fringe as to not have ONE specific name for it. I've also heard it called Metahuman Reactionism and Metahuman Royalism but I think those are less descriptive than Cape Feudalism for the reasons I've described before about the difference between a metahuman and a superhero.

The idea of "Cape Feudalism" is exactly what it sounds like, its a Neo-Reactionary philosophy that calls for superheroes as a class to "take over" the running of human society. This is most often framed as political first and foremost, crowning Superman and the Justice League as king or president or general of the world. And like you said it is also usually couched in the rhetoric of "well superheroes are so much kinder/smarter/more effective than the government anyway. Wouldn't you rather Superman make the rules than the crook in the white house."

This runs into a couple of hard brick walls from the outset (it actually runs into a few thousand but let's keep things brief...ish. Brief for ME anyway). Firstly, the superheroes of our world outright reject the IDEA of this on its face. The idea of taking political power and handing down moral or societal dictates from on high is antithetical to the superheroic ideal. Superman being the prime example. He has told us over and over again, he has no interest in telling human beings how to live. He does not view himself as worthy or able to run the world and his own ideals of politics and government tend to lean firmly on the side of democracy, and a strong, independent judiciary. Second, superheroes are no more qualified to run the government than anybody else. I get it, we admire them, they work tirelessly day and night. They inspire us to be better than ourselves and to give us a code we might live by even if we are only ever called to make ONE choice in our lives that really matters. But they're not gods. LITERALLY in most cases where Superman and other heroes have repeatedly told the world at large to STOP founding cults about them because it misses and distracts from their actual point and turns them into another unreachable idol when their intention IS that people reach their standard. On the more logical side of things, what does Superman, or Batman know about international relations? Or tax codes? or corporate law? We can assume that many superheroes have a wide array of knowledge and talents related to their secret identities but running a country is HARD and trying to do it single handedly would be even HARDER.

Finally, like all reactionary movements its at best a capitulation away from the responsibilities of our communities and at worst actively bigoted. I don't even want to go LOOKING for the takes online about how crowning Batman god-king of Gotham City would make sure ((they)) were kept under control because you, me and everyone already knows those takes exist. Baseline, there is no magic button that's going to fix corruption, or greed, or inefficiency, or bigoted broken systems overnight. Superman cannot hoist the patriarchy onto his shoulders and throw it into the sun. That's not how it works and its not what they're for. Our world, is ours. Our communities, are ours. Our mistakes, are ours. Superheroes are not here to take us by the scruff of the neck and show us what we SHOULD be doing. They're here to shelter us long enough that we can figure it out for ourselves because despite their extranormal abilities and responsibilities they still ARE us.
