Other characters from these franchises are more fair game, but I’m not interested in drawing anything from a fandom I’m not in on request. If you commission me, though—and my commissions are open!—I’d be willing to draw just about anything or any character is who is over 18.

Things I like to draw: emeto, illness in general, fevers, whump, injury, crying, snz, stuffing, angst… Also just like goofy character shit, but for the purposes of THIS blog, mostly focused on illness, injury, and angst.

The best way to get me to draw something on request is to Inspire Me™️! Give me a scenario I can play with! Details are good! Excitement is great! Things like “[character] [symptom]” don’t tend to spark the art motivation.

Also if you’re going to request, please be polite and understand that I am in medical school, my schedule is insane, and I do this for fun! There’s no guarantee I’ll do your request BUT if it Hits, it will implant itself into my brain machine and I’ll want to do something with it haha

i live for asshole characters vomiting and having to be vulnerable

God sameeeee ESPECIALLY when they keep trying to be an asshole but it’s really falling flat of their usual biting tone, and the caretaker knows that they’re doing it because they don’t know how to handle feeling weak and accepting help.

Or maybe because their tone falls flat their actual words get even more vicious and they actually do really hurt caretaker, and caretaker can either: a.) work through it and deal with the emotions later after asshole character is safe and situated or falls asleep, or b.) leave outright, leaving asshole to contemplate their choices in misery alone, knowing full well that the reason they have no one now is because they don’t know how to just accept a kind gesture and can’t seem to stop themselves from intentionally hurting anyone who tries to show them kindness

This isn't writing advice, but I started reading A.merican P.sycho, and I'm intrigued by the sickfic implications of the writing style

I've seen the movie and I understand the gist of the themes: Patrick being an anonymous non-person, defined by products and stereotypes, etc etc

Anyway, because of that, he never says how he's feeling (or hasn't yet; I'm not very deep into it), but people react to the things it's implied he does and the way it's implied he emotes, and there's something so tantalizing about that gap.

Obviously it wouldn't work for every sickfic ever, but I always try to dial in on details when writing from the sick character's POV. But I think there's a lot of potential in that gap, in just saying what they do and then letting other people react to the implied change in demeanor.

So instead of something like this, in my usual style:

A wave of dizziness washed over A. They reached out and grabbed the wall, knuckles paler than the whitewash.

"Are you alright?" B frowned. "You just went pale."

It would be more like this, in semi-pastiche:

A gripped the wall.

B frowned at them. "Are you okay? You're really pale."

Do you see. It's like a striptease. The lack of specificity is sexy and tantalizing.

You’re so right, but I’ll raise you one, maybe. When it’s not too bad and they are still acutely aware of what they’re feeling, some description of the buildup. When it gets bad enough that they are disoriented and foggy and so miserable that they simply aren’t processing anymore, switch to external reactions mode. I’m personally loving it in the scenario of a really high fever and associated symptoms, like:

A opened their eyes, and saw B at their bedside, frantically rubbing a very cold cloth over their chest, murmuring just hang on. A blinked slowly at them, and only then did B realize that they were awake, and dropped the cloth immediately, instead moving to cup their flushed cheek and push back the wet strands of hair that had adhered to A’s forehead from the sweat. A rotated their face into B’s cool, firm touch.

Character A holding a tissue or handkerchief over the nose of Character B, who is very out of it, either from fever or something else.

“Blow,” A instructs.

B purses their lips and blows through their mouth like they’re trying to extinguish a candle, causing the corners of the tissue to flutter for a second.

“Your NOSE, dumbass.” A rolls their eyes.

B blinks slowly at A, gives a half-hearted croaking chuckle, and eventually obliges after the instruction finally clicks.

Still in my G/OT kick and finally got around to watching Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and I just gotta say, MAD respect to everyone involved for giving me a large, odd, sad man with a nervous stomach and repeatedly wrecking him in a variety of ways

I do!! I’ve been trying to find what way I think King/er emeto would work bc he’s the love of my life but I’ve got nothing bc like. He doesn’t have a mouth. Though I suppose things don’t have to make sense in the digital world haha

My friend who does gaming streams has been sick recently and he is not the kind of person to hide it, which I love for him. Was talking on stream about feeling miserable and having a stomach bug recently and he also has bad allergies so he’s CONSTANTLY sneezing and apologizing for it and I’m like BROTHER!! It’s wild to me as someone who must Hide Everything, and I feel really bad for him being miserable and sick so frequently but also like. It’s kinda sweet that he doesn’t feel like he has to hide anything

I am haunted (positive) by the idea of McCoy pushing through some bug that has him all exhausted and like. probably walking about with a fever he's trying to ignore. He gets called up on bridge (it's an excuse, anyhow, so Jim can tell him to go to bed) and something happens, he loses his balance or maybe he gets all dizzy and it just so happens that he's by Jim's chair at that moment and ends up basically falling down on Jim. Or Jim saves him from actually falling over by pulling him in his lap.

anyhow. McCoy all sick and miserable, exhausted and running a fever, in Jim's lap.
