@medicus-mortem Systematic Changes
■ It had been two days since the Straw Hat captain had attacked a Celestial Dragon, an interesting display of his ignorance that caused their crews to get caught up in his mess. The kind of man that wandered the world blindly and spoke in fists. Normally, Killer would find that kind of behavior commendable, unconventional actions always played larger roles in a systematic change, but he wondered what kind of hell would break loose because of it.
The Heart captain was the first to notice the strange behavior of the Warlord. quickly taking him down after managing to lodge his blade into its circuitry. The second encounter proved to be less easily handled. It was overall strange. After the Straw Hat Pirates seemingly disappeared from the island all together yet leaving their ship behind, both crews weren’t targeted.
Perched in a grove, he found his running mind satiated with the twirling of his blade. Letting it swing from the weight as he looped it between his fingers over and over. Something was wrong and he was far too curious to let matters remain. The world was stitched together by a thin thread barely holding on. The political powers of the Marines and World Government alongside the Warlord’s that aided them in order to stand front against the powers of the Emperors of the Seas were clearly being tested. They had witnessed a strange over taking of axis powers.
Abiding the Celestials' distress wasn’t the job a warlord was required to do, at least from what he understood. The Marines were the lap dogs to the World Government and found it unforgivable to have pirates in the mere presence of their holy order. So was this to become the fate of the remaining servants or just those with royal lineage? What was going on that would spook the systematic powers this much?
His blade came to an abrupt halt as he caught the sight of said surgeon, the man looking as dreadfully unfazed as ever. But with the way he moved, he could tell he was looking for something.
“Bartholomew Kuma… He was the former King of Sorbet Kingdom in the South Blue. Yet when we fought him he was nothing more than an automaton weapon for the Marines. Curious for a warlord to become. Don't you think?”
ikkaku-of-heart:
Ikkaku wouldn’t say she was familiar with this place, but she knew it had been a seaside kingdom centuries ago. At least, that’s what she remembered from her grandmother’s stories of far-off places back when she’d been stuck in that dreary little cove. It had been destroyed when Arashi had been just a pup, and now it was an overgrown ruin barren of human life.
A pity, really, but kingdoms came and went as the mermaid understood it. There were whole continents that had sunken to the sea whose crumbling castles and temples were now inhabited by mermaids, like hermit crabs finding new shells to call home.
However, Ikkaku did not dwell on that. She was on a mission. A request from the lich who had given her a great gift. She’d seen the commotion from the shoreline. Felt the earth shake as Law exploded in a burst of necrotic energy. It must have been quite the battle. She wondered who Law had been fighting. They must have been powerful, for certain.
She got her answer as she swam upriver, her powerful tail far faster than human legs, though her skin did itch uncomfortably at the sensation of fresh water as opposed to salt. It would hardly kill her, but the unpleasantness had her pulling herself out of the river onto a rock, where she found herself not only among the kingdom’s ruins, but the lich’s opponent.
The knight was bleeding profusely. Dying from the looks of things. She could smell poison in the blood, and her nose wrinkled at the stench. Even if she’d been hungry for flesh, that stench would have put her off. But his question caught her attention, so dark eyes peered up at the knight’s masked visage.
“It is,” she admitted, reclining slightly on the flat rock, tail flicking nonchalantly. Her fingers played with the shell she wore around her neck - the magic amulet that allowed her to change shape. She could still feel the power within it. It seemed that his defeat did not dispel the enchantment the lich had put on it. Good. It would be so inconvenient to lose her lovely ability to enjoy both land and sea. “Did you kill him? Or, well, whatever the permanent version of death would be for him.”
If the pain he felt tearing him from the inside wasn’t so grave, he would have laughed at the mere thought of such a being like Zhul capable of earning death. But such a creature did not crave nor warrant the comforting embrace. Their greed resolute in avoiding it at all costs. Pulling his hand back, the pale, sickly swirl of green magic embedded into his blood writhed like a cluster of grubs. The poison doing good work at eating him from within. This wasn’t the first time he’s had to deal with this particular issue and it was far from the most painful death he’s had the luxury of remembering. The lich was a twisted wretch and a comforting presence.
His breath was slowing but the attention of the jewelry around her neck radiated the beings sinister necrotic energy. Like a pulsing beacon to anyone familiar with the feeling of his magic. Those who have had the misfortune to be intimately so. He grunted from the pain as he pressed his hand back to the fatal wound.

@ikkaku-of-heart Red Flags
■ A day far too beautiful painted his world. The sky as blue as the ocean with the rolling grass hills dotted with colours of wild flowers. The steep mountains far in the distance carving into the horizon and the sound of gentle waves lapped the southern beach. All surrounding the clanging of metal and chains as the Golden Knight staggered his way from the battle field. He wasn’t going to make it for long, this round coming to a draw.
He could feel his blood pulse and ooze from his wounds with each heavy step. His armored hand clinging to his side in a feeble attempt at shielding himself from the vile magic that had pierced him like a harpoon. Breath heavy, he limped his way from the now smoldering crater that could span an entire village. The remains of Zhul nothing more than ash that would soon be swept by the wind.
That should keep him away for about five or so years. A shame really.
But he needed to find himself a place to rest before his flame went out. Some place safe as unlike the lich, he only had the one body. He needed to be protected if Solace is to find him again. A programmed desire to continue life as was his curse despite finding self preservation difficult to want.
A deep breath bought him the strength to seek shelter among a cliff side. Another ruin of a castle where he could hide laid open and bare to the world. Flora claiming its fractured stone walls as he dropped his body to the ground, leaning against the corner to wait and see how long it would take for Zhul’s poison to snuff him out.
My love language is round house kicking your teeth in.

// I'm coming off hiatus, but my activity will still be limited. I'm gonna treat this blog as an art blog for a bit till I get my footing with Killer again. Had to focus on mental health and just chill the fuck out for once in my life.
// Letting folks know I will be purging my following list. Been meaning to do so for like... a year now whoops. And this means everyone I am following for this blog and @metrobound. I'll follow folks back I know I rp with on a consistent basis.
If I don't follow you back due to inactivity or other, you're still welcome to reach out to me. I am not a mutual exclusive blog. I'm just lazy. I won't be softblocking people either because apparently it has a cool down timer(?) which I didn't realize until recently and that kinda sucks, I don't want to remove the ability for people to contact me if they have questions.
insane men covered in blood. you agree. reblog.

medicus-mortem:
The smile that stretches across his face is wicked when he sees the extent of what the two pirates have walked into. The ostentatious pride that just radiates from this place. The army of pirates waiting beyond that bisected door. It makes his blood run hot and fills him with excitement, the doctor so ready to go in there and just start spreading his brand of chaos. He wonders how many of them are going to be upset with being cut into pieces and yet unable to die. They look like the honour centric dipshits that’d have a problem with that.
Everything crashes back into place. Cut in half werewolves confused and trying to find their pieces. Stone walls cracking as they crunch into each other. The wooden door clattering to the ground, splintered and no longer able to keep the two invaders out. Law straightens from his swing, Kikoku once again resting on his shoulder. He strides on wards, ignoring most of the writhing wolves. Except one that reaches for his ankle and earns a haki’d boot to the face.
Law steps up onto the rubble, eyeing the canons getting directed at them. The one Room fades and he summons another, filling the entire chamber with his blue tinted film. His head turns to Killer, free hand still moving. A gesture upwards has the loose rubble rising, floating into the air at his command.
“As a surgeon I am findin’ it real hard to think of anything that’s worse than non-consensual hand jabbing,” he says, an eyebrow arching at Killer’s curious question. Somehow he doubts mister mask here is after the same thing Law is. Hell, this sort of historical hunting is relatively new to him too, but if he can find the answers he wants than he’ll get what Nico Robin needs.
“And I’m just after a bit of information. Doubt your meat head of a captain would even consider sendin’ you after info. So, don’t worry. I won’t have to kill you today.”
His words come to an end with an amused smirk. Meanwhile their foes have turned their considerable arsenal on the pirate pair. There is a resounding call to fire and Law’s finger twitches. The rubble gets thrown at the cannons, some managing to fire while a few get clogged up by the flying debris and explode.
Fingers roll into a tight fist, knuckles popping as he straightens his form. Law commanding the ruble to rise as the musketeers begin to attack. A cascade of sparks and fire are blown from the canons that backfire, smoke and light blinding them and giving Killer the opportunity to move in quickly.
“Kid doesn’t know I’m here…”
Boots slide across the smooth marble as blades whiz to life, slicing through wolf and men as his saws carve a bloody mess. Unlike Law, he wasn’t interested in keeping the place mess-free. A horrific cry comes from a wolf that had her arm sliced off along with now a massive open wound gauged across her chest. Rapidly bleeding out as another wolf brings down a flaming sword. Two others not caught in the explosion turn to charge the serial killer before a heavy boot is kicked into one’s face.
Killer swinging his body out of the way of the blade and somersaulting. Saws continuing to carve their way into flesh and leaving a bloody trail as he lands on the other side of the firing line, now sandwiching them between the Surgeon of Death and the Massacre Soldier. A very unfortunate place to find oneself in.
He didn’t have time to play around with the lackeys of this crew as he stretched his arms out. His blades coming to a sharp stop before swinging his whole body, letting the momentum of his swing curve from his legs to his arms as he kicked up to slice two massive electric blue waves that cleaved through meat and bone and anything in its path with ease.
Canons and people vivisected as wet and heavy thuds fell to the floor. The last few members splitting to take on either men as another pulled out a trumpet and blew frantically into it. Soon distant horns blew to alert the rest of the base the intruders had made it through their corridors. Not that it mattered.
