What is Tumblr, answered in one image.
They're really just writing these for the "in bed" game now, aren't they?
An Ohio woman returned from vacation to find that all of her belongings had been stolen, taken right out of her house.
Because the Internet is forever:
The First National Bank of Wellston burglarized an Ohio woman's house and refused to compensate her in full.

You know that Parks and Rec where the judge makes Tom Haverford give up all his electronic devices and stop using social media to protect the public good? Is that ever a real thing? ‘Cause I think there’s someone who really needs that kind of intervention.

OMG, there are GIFs from a show I've seen on Tumblr.
Anthropomorphic art is one of our favourite things, so even though we’ve featured her work a few times already, we still can’t get enough of Nouar’s delightfully disturbing paintings.
"Born in Tehran, amidst the 1980s political suffering and strife, Nouar’s family fled to Germany and then the US, where she resides today. Her oil and acrylic paintings touch on vintage commercial Americana with a sinister twist – but without being too cynical. Instead, each dollop of cream or slice of pie provokes a more tempting side of advertising, where the taste of nostalgia and its childlike promises are the main indulgence."
Visit Beautiful Decay to view even more of Nouar’s wonderful artwork.

If you like a story that includes:
A shirtless neighbor
A Hacky-sack circle

Sleeping under a tarp in backyard bushes

An aerosol can of bear repellant

The Twitter trending topics worldwide show an interesting trend—outside of Mark O’Mara, most of the people-related topics here are tangential to the Trayvon trial, touching on prior “trial of the century" touchstones (OJ Simpson, Casey Anthony) and other civil rights cases (Emmett Till, Rodney King). Not mentioned? Trayvon Martin or George Zimmerman. (via @nycjim)
One reason some of these names might be relevant is they refer to cases in which the accused were found not guilty of the initial criminal charges but later were found liable for civil damages (OJ) or found guilty of federal charges (some of the cops in the Rodney King case).

Harold Cook just killed it.
They really… this really happened today, guys. Texas took preemptive action against weapons of mass menstruation. Oh, but if you had a gun and a permit, you were allowed to bring it in. Let that sink in: You could not bring pads or tampons into the state legislature, because pro-lifers said you might throw them. But you could bring a gun, because pro-life theory doesn’t extend as far as the barrel of a .44.
It’s almost like they were looking for a way to harass and embarrass only the women in the line, turn away anyone who actually needed those items and didn’t want to give then up, and call attention to the implication that any upset women in the room were just blah blah whatever that time of the month.
But that would be the cynical interpretation.

Teach me your ways, oh wise one.
Artist Johannes Stötter is a fine-art-bodypainter from South Tyrol, Italy who uses his artistry to blend his subjects into their surroundings so well that they all but disappear. His models appear to take on both the colours and textures of their surroundings and sometimes even transform into other creatures or objects, including fruit and vegetables, trees, rocks, and even wildlife.
For example, the photo at the top of this post appears to feature a colourful frog. Look closely and you’ll see that the frog is composed of five different people carefully painted and positioned so that together they become one beautiful amphibian. Click here to watch a video about how it was done.
Head over to My Modern Metropolis to view more examples of Johannes Stötter’s artwork.
