OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AFTER 51 YEARS!!!
According to code-breaking expert David Oranchak, the cipher’s text includes: “I hope you are having lots of fun in trying to catch me. … I am not afraid of the gas chamber because it will send me to paradice (sic) all the sooner because I now have enough slaves to work for me.”
Oranchak, a 46-year-old web designer who lives in Virginia, has been working on the Zodiac’s codes since 2006.

Fritz Haarmann’s Preserved Head - Known as the “Butcher of Hanover” and the “Vampire of Hanover” was a German serial killer who is believed to have been responsible for the murder of 27 boys and young men between 1918 - 1924. He was convicted, found guilty of 24 murders and executed. Haarmann was beheaded by guillotine on April 15, 1925. His head was preserved in a jar by scientists to examine the structure of the brain. Haarmann’s head is now kept at the Göttingen medical school.
cops are lucky that most people approach true crime as voyeuristic death fetishism as a opposed to a disquisition on the unavoidable incompetence (at best) and malice of police “work”

first serial killer to die of covid-19
“Ted Bundy wasn’t a Charles Manson type person. He was the guy next door. He was the guy you’d meet up at the University of Utah and have coffee with, and be intrigued by him. And at that moment I realized how so many girls went with him, and that scared me.” - reporter Barbara Grossman

Grand Guignol
The Grand Guinol was founded in 1894 by Oscar Méténier. It was, at the time, the smallest theater in Paris. Méténier’s goal was to use horror, brutatlity and grisly detail to inflict immense horror onto his audience. One time Méténier tried to graphically reproduce an execution by guillotine but was stopped by the police.
He is said to have measured the success of a play by the number of people who fainted during its performance. The special effects used in his production were so intense that it wasn’t hard to make people faint.
His productions were not for the faint of heart. They featured topics such as necrophilia, leprosy, syphilis, torture, graphic brain surgery, killing children and sex.

Paris Catacombs
Built in the late 18th century, these subterranean tunnels now house the remains of over 6 million people. Mass graveyards were overflowing in Paris, so bodies were exhumed and transported there. During WWII, the Resistance used portions of the Catacombs as hideouts, even Nazis built bunkers down there.
There are tour guides given for the portion of the catacombs that are open to the public, though there are numerous secret passages and entrances throughout. If you take a tour guide, one of the first signs you will see reads “Arrête, c’est ici l’empire de la mort” which means Stop, this is the empire of death.
Though only about a mile of the catacombs is open to the public, it doesn’t stop people from sneaking in. People are advised against that as even experts get lost because a lot of the tunnels are not mapped. There is a legend of a man named Philibert Aspairt who got lost in the catacombs in 1793. His body was found 11 years after his death and its said that it was near an exit.
Hotel Hell
The Maribel Caves Hotel, also called ‘Hotel Hell, was built in 1900 on the site of a health spa in Wisconsin. It eventually became a tavern, until a fire in 1985 effectively destroyed the interior. Rumors have persisted around the hotel for decades, however, giving it it’s nickname. Some say three fires have blasted the hotel, all at the same time of day and date. It’s rumored someone murdered all the guests at some point, and committed suicide themselves. Some also believe the hotel was owned by Al Capone during prohibition, and served as a hideout and bootlegging business for him. The hotel has since been gutted and only the exterior shell remains.
