People often look at the tags on my handmade goods and declare that my prices are outrageous. I did the math and THIS is what that handmade beanie you want for $10 ACTUALLY cost to make.

So if you see that $30 on the label, be courteous. Know that I am paying myself far, far less than minimum wage in labor ($2.22 per hour, to be exact) to even come to such a supposedly ghastly price. I can't take that $10 for a hat because no one can live on $0.37 an hour, much less sustain a business.

Handmade goods aren't overpriced, people just undervalue the hard work and years of skill artists put into them.

Judging from the way the stripes go, that scarf was knitted sideways. Meaning the person cast on 17 feet’s worth of stitches and knitted those 17 feet back & forth for three inches. I’m in awe.

Finals completely took me out for the count these past two weeks, which...sucked! Just, it really was terrible. But now I’m on break and recovering, and getting back to work!

Got a few pins to make today, and a few new designs to debut on the shop! :) the little book has aaaallll of my pin patterns, while the big journal has all my bigger patterns, for hats and scarves and such. I’m finding that I almost (almost) like designing patterns more than knitting them! But I’m very frustrated with all the digital pattern-making tools that are out there, so I’ve settled for drawing them by hand. And in the end, that makes them more portable for me!

So everytime I knit something for someone I like to knit in a little heart. It's hard to spot and you'd not notice it unless you were looking for it, but the receiver and I know it's there.

It's a small gesture, something that they know means it was made with love and them in mind.

Big Announcement!

Hi all! Wowza, I totally didn’t mean to let this blog kind of stagnate, but I am a college student and I got crazy busy! I’m probably going to set up a queue in the future to post something once a day, and then post now and then outside of that. I think that’ll work best for me and actually keep this blog properly lively!

Hey, I'm reblogging this again. I just became the lucky victim of debit card fraud! Wahoo! Fuck.
