Sierra imitating Rierra/Ramin fangirls is 100% me

hey, what do you think of sierra's french pronunciation? :)
i’ve made a quick post about general impressions. she’s not good. she’s not bad either, for someone who doesn’t the goddamn language. like, i wouldn’t be able to do that shit in say, german. some moments are better than others, probably the ones she worked on more ( again, there’s about a month before they open, which gives her some more time ), she works better in ensemble settings, or when there’s someone else singing around, like, you can hear her and distinguish her, and i’d say that’s because she gets a direct example of the right pronunciation. mascarade in general sounds better than say, knoblauch when tanz started ( taking this example ), which honestly sounded like gibberish during the first month of the run. as for all i ask of you, she’s got some trouble on the solo parts. some bits, i’m gonna are because of the shit translation not working in an operatic setting ( sigh s . ), some are because, again, she doesn’t know the language.
honestly - she’s got her good moments. and some not so good. but she’ll get better. like that’s damn easy to hear she’s worked hard, and being litterally drowned in the language and the show will only get her to get better as time goes. i can’t wait to hear her actually in the full show to give better impressions, and then see her improve as time goes on. but as i’ve said, the international members of the cast in tanz weren’t that good at this stage with their pronunciation ( and… even some french cast members, if i gotta be honest ). so i can’t say i’m impressed either, because you can hear she’s not french, but i’m not disappointed, this was what i was expecting at this stage ( and maybe, a teeny bit better than this. ). again, she’s just started learning french!
but yep, here goes for my opinion! there was 0 need to trash the poor girl before even hearing her sing. and she could’ve done so, so much worst. honest.
Pretty much all of this.
This is the infomercial the world deserves tbh
i was lucky enough to catch school of rock for sierra’s last show. overall a fun show. really not my thing in a lot of ways - i think the music is on the generic side; the “emotional” moments are more manipulative than earned or genuine; it’s really aimed more at kids than adults. but i had a good time. the rock numbers with alex brightman and the kids are a ton of fun - if you’re looking for a reason to see the show, they’re it - and the one thing that does make me happy about this show is that with matilda closing, we’re still going to have a show that tells kids that they deserve respect, love and to be heard.
Sierra in high school
I’m probably the only person thinking this, but I’m not sad, I’m so excited that Sierra is retiring Christine. She’s incredibly talented and has such promise for a brighter future in this musical theatre world. It’ll be amazing to see her really step out of her comfort zone and try something different and daring, to keep reinventing herself and to have new experiences. Her retiring Christine is not something to be sad about but to rejoice for the future!
Wrote this over a year ago. Whoops. She just can’t stay away!
