So, my mother and I got into an argument when I voiced my support for the BLM movement, the Minneapolis protests, etc. I was sent to my room and I just...yeah:
Not to toot my own horn at all, but...I think my level of maturity has increased, and I’m proud of myself😌
Here’s an update to this post after like a year: my amazing mother took it upon herself to conduct unbiased research and to try to get up to date on current events in hopes of understanding the state of the world. In doing so, she quickly became a supporter of BLM, the progressive movement, green energy, wealth taxation, universal healthcare, free education, and other very liberal/leftist policies/ideologies. She voted for Bernie Sanders in the 2020 primary elections and Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.
Even if she had nurtured her former moderate views more, I would have supported her because she took the initiative to educate herself. Now, we bond over politics, too.
